“It's obvious that the people who run this place put care into choosing what they stock. I'm delighted that my neighborhood corner store has great fresh produce, dairy alternatives & bulk bins”

“This is the best place for seasonal fresh produce! Everything is reasonably prices, and they have the best of whatever is in season at the time. Additionally, the staff there is really helpful. Once, I got two boxes of food, and an employee helped me carry an entire box down the block. I could not recommend this place more! If you are looking for fresh produce, come to Aloha first.”

“Great local market. Not ideal for full blown grocery shopping, but great for produce, random recipe ingredients, Asian products, and snacks. Love when they roast fresh peanuts, a very comforting aroma.”

“I love this place! The guy working the counter is always friendly, they have surprisingly good selection (esp if you’re interested in meats), and other shoppers are friendly.”

“First entering the store you're welcomed with good music unlike other produce markets spots in the location. Music definitely had me wanting to just stay there and enjoy it. Following that were the veggies/ fruit, meat and packaged goods organized in their own separate aisles and sections. First time being I there had to do a lap to get accustomed to the layout. After that I was moving throughout the aisles and even going back to already seen aisles just to take another look and what else I could grab. From asking for help and getting some chicken and carnitas the members were very involved and very welcoming. From the meat department to check out, all store members were happy to help out. The welcoming customer service and the comfort of not feeling like an outsider compared to other stores I've been to around Fruitvale. When I'm back in town this will definitely be the store to come to when I'm in need of something quick to eat or ingredients for the week. Will be back.”

“Good quality and low price. There are always cheap and fresh fruits and vegetables. I forgot my wallet at the checkout counter of this store, and the clerk was kind enough to put it away for me. Give it back to me when I go back to look for it. Thank you so much!”

“My favorite local market: immaculately clean, well-stocked, items neatly rowed on the shelves. Authentic, wide selection of latin food (traditional butcher counter), produce at excellent prices. My usual: jamaica (karkade), piloncillo, honey (Spain), Ibarra, spices, nuez paletas. The owners are friendly and helpful. Three languages spoken: Spanish, English, Arabic.”

“Sometimes visiting the International food section at your local grocery store can be so unsatisfying. I always leave knowing there is so much more they aren't showing me.This week I decided I wanted to make tamales for a post Christmas celebration. But I wanted to make everything from scratch. And I knew that Safeway wouldn't provide me with the basics I needed. If you are searching for a clean, friendly well stocked market with everything you need to make beautiful moles, chili verde tacos or the most authentic tamales visit Supermercado Mi Tierra. They have six locations sprinkled throughout the East Bay.”

“My favorite neighborhood store. They have a great selection of chips and drinks and the owners are very nice. Some items are pricey but many are fairly priced. I sometimes grocery shop here and they have what I need. The store is clean and well-organized.”
