“This place is just beautiful so peaceful, the views are spectacular! Cleanest cabin and comfortable beds with everything you need for a relaxing vacation ! It's one of my families favorite places to stay in Idyllwild! The manager is so helpful, and the property is located on Strawberry Creek, a short amazing hike along the creek or a quick drive to town where you will find restaurants, shopping, and groceries. We will be coming back for years to come, having many family gatherings and celebrations. Thank you, Root Stone Lodge. We are lucky to have found this place! The Briscoe family. ❤️”

“Absolutely love Hicksville Pines, great for people looking for a break and place to truly relax. The room themes are so fun. The breakfast is delicious and it's only 5 minutes from downtown Idyllwild, an adorable mountain town. The staff is all wonderful.”

“Location is excellent! Service is excellent! Rooms are nice, cozy, clean and smell amazing! It’s our second time in here, and I’m already thinking of the third time.”
“We stayed at the Idyllwild Bunkhouse for several nights and absolutely loved it. The space is so cozy, cute, and comfortable — it truly felt like a little mountain hideaway. On the weekends they even delivered breakfast to us in a basket, which was such an adorable and thoughtful touch.
It’s hands-down the best place to stay in town: quiet, peaceful, and close enough to town to be super convenient without feeling overcrowded. There are definitely larger places to stay nearby, but those felt boring and packed — if you want somewhere with real character and charm, this is it.
The owner and staff were incredibly friendly, the kitchen is a great size and fully equipped with everything you need, and the back balcony overlooking the trees was the perfect spot to relax. If you’re looking for something cute, comfortable, and special, you absolutely have to stay at the Idyllwild Bunkhouse.”

“I had to stay here while I was having troubles with the heater in my home and I want to say that it’s one of the best places you can stay in town, especially when it comes to the beds. I have daily chronic body pain and so when I go to not just Airbnb’s, but I also go to hotels. I often have problems because the beds are older or they sag or they’re too hard.
They have the perfect foam mattress here it’s firm enough, but it’s soft enough it alleviate your body pain
Despite one other setback that happened during my state that I’m not going to bother to mention, it was everything I could’ve hoped for especially the bed
Thank you for giving me a place to stay while my propane heater at home was not working”
“Stunning accommodations, though there were a few issues. We had the Grand Villa for two nights (a Thursday night and a Friday night) and unfortunately didn’t have any hot water… We felt bad for the onsite manager who was running around trying to resolve the issue. They ended up giving us access to another room (“Ambiance”) to shower. Not ideal but a good solution! The self-serve breakfast on Friday was perfect; the “gourmet” breakfast on Saturday took… a lot longer than it probably should have. Thankfully, our group got our order in first, because everyone else (all of the other guests staying onsite) had a bit of a long wait. For what we paid, I’d expect things to be buttoned up a little more, but I also understand things happen. Not going to bomb the reviews with a 1-star because it was still a great experience overall, just not a 5-star experience.Otherwise, sauna was great, nice that there are onsite massages too, hot tub was great, the mini golf is a fun touch, and location is so close to everything (2-minute drive to the center of town or a 15-minute walk).”
“Leisa is truly a beautiful person on the inside and out, purchase one of her delicious pies on your way out! I’d stay here again for the hospitality alone! The cabins are beautiful and well kept.”
