“Always a 5 star experience. This was our 6th trip here. We found this property by accident last year and it hooked us from the first. The DETAILS in all the themed rooms, the art and whimsy, games galore… we’ve been steadily progressing through the collection of rooms, determined to stay in all 10. Each trip is rejuvenating and we make friends with cool people; this trip we even worked on painting and writing because it’s our favorite place to unwind and create. The staff are wonderful, chill, and cool. If you want a memorable stay, look no further. There is so much to explore & appreciate here, including the resident cats. We love you Hicksville!!”

“I hope Terry sees this. He is possibly the nicest person I've ever met. He was super helpful and kept me updated while I waited for our VERY last minute cabin. Our Airbnb ran out of propane, so we had no heat, no hot water, and no working stove or oven and had to check out early. I drove over to Idyllwild Inn after we checked out of our original cabin (via Airbnb - not Idyllwild Inn) to see if they were able to accommodate us and had the pleasure of meeting Terry. He is such a wonderful person. He booked us into an incredible cabin, showed me local recommendations, future cabin recommendations that would make life easier while traveling with my pups, and offered the nicest, easiest experience I've ever encountered. It's been a rough year, so meeting someone like Terry put a huge smile on my face and set a positive tone for the remainder of our trip. I highly recommend booking directly through them. It also saves on all the fees that Airbnb charges. There is a lot of negativity in the world, so having the pleasure to book through someone like Terry was a game changer. We need more Terrys in the word. Looking forward to going back in the near future and supporting the Idyllwild Inn :)”

“This place is just beautiful so peaceful, the views are spectacular! Cleanest cabin and comfortable beds with everything you need for a relaxing vacation ! It's one of my families favorite places to stay in Idyllwild! The manager is so helpful, and the property is located on Strawberry Creek, a short amazing hike along the creek or a quick drive to town where you will find restaurants, shopping, and groceries. We will be coming back for years to come, having many family gatherings and celebrations. Thank you, Root Stone Lodge. We are lucky to have found this place! The Briscoe family. ❤️”

“I usually sleep in the back of my vehicle when visiting Idyllwild and climbing Tahquitz. Found this very affordable gem last time I was up there and couldn't resist a shower and a bed. Front desk staff was great! Place was clean and easy to check in and check out! Did I mention this spot is VERY affordable.”

“My wife and I just stayed two nights in the Oak room. We loved the place. Super cozy with a fireplace and nice old school decor. Location is 5 stars, and Mike who I phoned several times for help is fantastic. Unfortunately there were some issues with the room, mainly:- No fancy Malin + Goetz that was advertised. Sure I sound like a bit of a snob but kind of a bummer and false advertising.- Kitchenette was a bit dirty. House cleaner certainly missed a spot.- No housecleaning between nights. Seems like kind of a rip off especially considering the $199 per night price tag.”
