“Highly recommend! Legit work at a fair price.These guys are fantastic. Not the prettiest place to look at but I'm not trying to get my tires replaced in Apple Store.Came in with a flat on my Mini Countryman, bossman pointed out that the passenger front tire was also in bad shape so I replaced both.Tires weren't on site but he said they could be there by 3. I got a call at 315 saying my car was ready. I didn't even ask the price but it was much lower than I had expected. Tires aren't cheap!”

“Huge shoutout to Christian and the team at Berkeley Minicar. I hauled my '17 Civic to them after Honda Oakland tried to charge me $7k just to teardown my engine to diagnose what was going on with it. Christian was extremely patient, kind, and empathetic when dealing with me and my situation. They took the car in for a diagnostic and gave me a free loaner while they had it. Though they came to the same conclusion as Honda, they were more direct and explained that it would be better and cheaper for me to just replace the entire engine than try to dig around and search for the root problem which is what Honda was proposing. Though they are not able to provide that service, they were honest and open about the work. Please check these guys out next time you need some service done.”

“This was my first visit to Fred's Wrenchouse, and I had a great experience. My repair could have cost more than it did, but they simply did what was necessary to make my car both driveable and aesthetically pleasing and I was on my way a few hours later. This process was made easier because after I dropped my car off in the morning, I was able to go around the corner to Pete's coffee and worked there for 4-4.5 hours on my laptop, and my car was ready to be picked up before 2 PM. Clearly, with all their high ratings here on Yelp, this business doesn't need another one, but I think it's important to keep reviewing so that new customers know they are still doing quality work, in a reasonable amount of time, for a fair market price, and not doing more/charging more if it isn't needed. I had the repair completed the first few days of October 2023, and 6 weeks later it's still feeling solid and my car drives so much more smoothly after the fact.”

“Jose and the team are honest, helpful mechanics. I was quoted over $900 to fix an engine sensor in my Volvo. The wait time was about 2 weeks. Metric Motors replaced the sensor with a Volvo factory piece for $300. Even better, the repair was done in one day. I've brought my car back multiple times and always receive great service. Jose is always reachable by text and can usually get you in within a day or two. Highly highly recommend!”

“Went in for a brake inspection and possible replacement. After inspection, they told me that I had about 70-80% brake life left on each pad and didn't charge me anything even though I tried offering some tips for services. I was in and out of there in literally 15 minutes. They were extremely pleasant and honest about everything and my new go-to place for any future brake services when needed.In contrast, several other shops that I went to for an inspection gave me elusive answers and asked me to come at 7am to get a service or told me it would take 2-3 hours to get the brakes inspected.”

My car broke down outside their shop, and not only did they push it down the block, into their garage, and diagnose it (engine failure) they were SO kind and accommodating while I tried to get it sold and/or towed. Once the part had arrived I was once again told to come at my earliest convenience--again to me ASAP. Lo and behold, the job was going to be done the same day, I was able to pick the car up later the same afternoon and wouldn't have to face the prospect of taking my daughter on the bus to school the next day. I told Brian about my issues and concerns regarding my 2009 Subaru possible leaking issues, and he said bring it on in and I'll check it out.He ran a free check on under the hood and pointed out some issues and possible points that could be resulting in the areas of concern, told me how to best monitor the situation, and gave me some other things to look out for without even asking for a dime. “Recently went here looking for a car and was greeted by a gentleman Dennell Hayes. This guy was AMAZING, Amazing doesn't even describe the way he was. He was ever I would want for someone and myself when looking at buying a car. Dennell was very attentive, understanding, down to earth, and a real individual. He made it very clear about the deal that we made and didn't put any pressure on me and made sure I was comfortable with all the financing and decisions. He knew buying a car is a very big purchase and didn't rush me in any of my decision making and made sure I was able to take my time and not feel rushed. He also went above and beyond and tried to help me get things settled on his day off so that when coming to buy the car it was a smooth transition. As well as made sure I was able to take multiple looks at the vehicle per my request which im sure got annoying haha! Lastly he has the dopest test drive route id recommend going at night and day just to get the full experience and get too look at the overall of the car. “This is a great station where they have avoided the current trend of hiking prices ridiculously. Their prices are consistently at least $.50 lower than nearby stations, and often more. I really appreciate business owners who are not taking advantage of Covid to inflate prices. It's a good business model - then you get many repeat customers who love you. They also keep the station very clean, and there's always windshield washer brushes in water to wash your windshield with, and the store is nicely run. Thank you!!!”
