“They do high quality work at a very reasonable price in a timely manner. I go to them for almost any type of car issue (transmission, broken window, oil change, electrical issue) and they’ve been able to do pretty much anything so far. I highly recommend this business”

“The Model Garage has a winning business strategy based on integrity and customer service. When Ernesto ordered the wrong part for my US manufactured Toyota Camry, he offered to comp a scheduled headlight lens restoration to make up for my inconvenience. That kind of service goes a long way toward building customer loyalty.”

“I brought my BMW M3 in to install a tuning modification. Not only was the team at Griffin able to install it, but they helped troubleshoot it as well when when the part had a factory defect. Very grateful for this team and their customer service. I will be bringing my car back here for all repairs and maintenance.”

“Great experience with Berkeley Minicar! They diagnosed the problem with my alternator, got the repair done quickly, and had my car back up and running quickly. Fair pricing, honest service, and great communication throughout the process. I really appreciate the quality of work and would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable mechanic!”

“Nate is the real deal. Drove my Prime 8 years off the dealer lot with no maintenance other than oil and tires. So my ride was way over due preventative maintenance. Talked to two other places before taking it here. The other places wanted to do all sorts of extra things. In their defense they don’t specialize in hybrids. Talking to Nate at length he seemed very knowledgeable about Toyota PHEVs and performed only the necessary services and left me feeling good about the whole experience. I’ll be back!!!”

“I do not normally leave reviews, but the service was so exceptional I had to. If you are in Berkeley and having any car difficulties, this is THE place to go. Everyone at the business is kind, patient, and thorough. They made me feel so heard, and were so patient in explaining what was going on with my car. I can't say enough incredible things about the service and this business! I will definitely be back if I need anything.”

“I cannot recommend M & M Garage enough! They did an amazing job on my car and the entire experience was stress-free. The owner is incredibly kind, honest, and transparent. I had gotten a first estimate elsewhere that was thousands of dollars higher, but the team here gave me a fair, honest quote that saved me a ton of money without sacrificing any quality. Their communication was clear and fast, and they finished the work quickly. If you need auto body work in the East Bay, this is the place to go”

“don’t let the humble building facade and parking lot fool you, it’s what‘s on the inside that counts! I express my recognition, appreciation, gratitude, and awe, that Chris and his team has been able to keep the business running all these years, a testament to their knowledge, dedication, and quality of service. they can service a large variety of vehicles, will detail and prioritize recommended work for older ones, and get you back on the road at a fair price. They’re usually booked out and busy; consider adding your car to their workload!”

“I had a great experience bringing in my 98' SL500 for an oil change at German Auto Sport. This was my first time here and the team was extremely helpful with any other questions I had, along with a detailed vehicle inspection.”

“Quick and got the job done! Was surprised when asked to tip although—it seems like EVERY business is asking for tips now instead of paying a decent wage.”

“I highly recommend Marco. What stood out most to me was his honesty and integrity. Even though it meant I ultimately decided not to move forward with the repair, he took the time to explain all the options available and gave me straightforward advice on what would be the most cost-effective solution. It’s rare to find someone who genuinely puts a customer’s best interests ahead of making a sale. Marco is clearly not just in it for the money, he cares about helping people make informed decisions. If you’re looking for someone trustworthy, knowledgeable, and professional, hit Marco up and he’ll make sure you get the service you actually need, not just the service that makes him the most money.”

“Golden gate collision did an incredible job fixing my truck after my small fender bender. They got my car in and out of there shop in a very short amount of time. They even mentioned that I should bring my truck back in 30 days for a full exterior detail as they could not wax areas repaired just after paint!!! Thanks”
2051 Ashby Ave, Berkeley CA 94703
“My Volvo C30 T5's motor had been making a worrisome noise and check engine light was on. A friend had recommended Walsh Brothers. Carlos listened carefully while I described the problem. I went off to work in a loaner car! My car was ready same day. Carlos and Louise were easy to talk to, the cost was reasonable, and their shop looked organized. Posítive experíence!”

“Steve and Jeff have been so helpful! They went to great lengths to find out why my car was overheating and I’m sure they put more effort into the job than most mechanics would for the modest price they charge. Recently I came back for a service and was again impressed by their honesty and efficiency. I’m fortunate to live nearby but even if I move I’ll keep coming here!”

“We've been bringing our 2000 Subaru (now with 178,000 miles on it) to Henry Chin's for many years. If you have an older car that you want to keep running you inevitably have to make repairs, and we really have appreciated Henry's clarity, honesty, and the skilled work, fairly priced.”

“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I can’t say enough great things about Berkeley Auto Repair. I called just minutes before closing with a flat tire situation, and Sol answered the phone right away. Not only was he incredibly kind and professional, but he even offered to wait around in case I needed help. Thankfully, I was able to resolve the issue myself, but the fact that Sol was willing to stay after hours just to make sure I was taken care of really speaks volumes about his character and commitment to customer service. It’s rare to find that level of care these days. Highly recommend Berkeley Auto Repair — they truly go above and beyond for their customers!”

“Tried Bob's after being disappointed with a few other Audi shops in the area. Bob's did a great job diagnosing and fixing the problems with my ancient Audi. Passed the smog check the next day. I'm a very happy customer. The staff are friendly, helpful and communicative.”

“Vee is a great mechanic easy to work with If you don’t live in walking distance, helpful to have a backup mode of transportation if need be”

“I've owned Audis since 2001 — a 2001 A6 2.7T, 2003 Allroad 2.7T, 2013 A6 3.0, 2015 Q7 TDI, 2018 Q5 2.0, and now a 2022 SQ7. Before finding Tomas, I tried the other well-known independent Audi/VW shops in Berkeley, but nothing compares to the experience I've had here since 2006. Ken up front is fantastic — responsive, easy to reach, and always gets you scheduled quickly. The technicians are highly knowledgeable and consistently nail the diagnosis, even on tricky issues. The workmanship is top notch every single time, and my cars always come back running great. After nearly 20 years and six Audis, I wouldn't trust anyone else with these cars. Highly recommend Tomas Sport!”

“Called, and they didn’t offer the services I was looking for, but they atleast educated me on why they and most other body shops don’t offer the service. Very helpful information.”
820 Gilman Street, Berkeley CA 94710
“I've been dealing with owning a car in the east bay for decades, and so have had experience at quite a number of service places. Don's Tire comes out at the top - they can get pretty much any tire you'd like, and quickly, unlike so many shops, they underpromise and overdeliver. My experience has always been friendly, efficient, no nonsense service, with the car ready when promised, or sooner, and top quality workmanship. Prices are absolutely fair. I just wish more businesses could be like this one!”
2037 Durant Avenue, Berkeley CA 94704
“Excellent service across the board: initial contact, scheduling appointment, prompt communication, quick turnaround on quality work (polishing headlamps - good as new!)”
2396 San Pablo Avenue, Berkeley CA 94702
“A friend recommended Universal Tires to me, and I’m so glad they did. I’d been driving around with my check engine light on for almost five years because I kept putting it off and wasn’t sure what the issue was. They figured it out way faster than I expected and got my car fixed without any hassle. I can’t even explain how nice it feels to finally look at my dashboard and not see that light anymore. Everyone was kind, honest, and made me feel like they genuinely cared instead of just trying to sell me something. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending them to my family and friends. Thank you again”
