I can’t say enough great things about Berkeley Auto Repair. I called just minutes before closing with a flat tire situation, and Sol answered the phone right away. Not only was he incredibly kind and professional, but he even offered to wait around in case I needed help.
Thankfully, I was able to resolve the issue myself, but the fact that Sol was willing to stay after hours just to make sure I was taken care of really speaks volumes about his character and commitment to customer service. It’s rare to find that level of care these days.

“Nate is the real deal. Drove my Prime 8 years off the dealer lot with no maintenance other than oil and tires. So my ride was way over due preventative maintenance. Talked to two other places before taking it here. The other places wanted to do all sorts of extra things. In their defense they don’t specialize in hybrids. Talking to Nate at length he seemed very knowledgeable about Toyota PHEVs and performed only the necessary services and left me feeling good about the whole experience. I’ll be back!!!”

“After 8 years of wasting tons of money on my 1990 VW Vanagon money on AC recharges in Vallejo and Orinda to continue to have a leak that both shops couldn't find, I reached out to Berkeley Radiator Works who did my original AC Retrofit in 2018. David (the new owner since the last time I went in) was very helpful over the phone and was confident he could find the problem. I was able to make an appointment to come in a few days later and he found the problem and was willing to warranty the work. I also gained confidence knowing that he had experience working at a Vanagon shop (since these cars are very sensitive/unique) so I also had my engine cleaned for the first time (see pics) and got an oil change. Recommended to classic Vanagon owners!”
“Hustead's is a quality auto body shop, we've used them to have all our cars fixed and they do excellent work in a timely manner as well as communicate with us the whole way through. We recently had one of our car's 'totalled' through Geico and although we weren't ready to get rid of the car, nor could we afford to, we chose to get the repairs done. Hustead's worked with us on the price and we got to hold on to the car until we can afford to get a new one. Excellent customer service all around.”

“Really can’t say enough good things about this place and the owner Gustav. It is somewhat of a hole in the wall around Point Richmond, but this has been the best experience I have had it at a mechanic in my life. After shopping around and visiting all of these “honest” mechanics that I was finding from reviews, I am very happy that I ended up stumbling across this place.
I will be taking my car only to this shop until I move or it dies. Also I will be recommending this place to everyone I know when they have any car issues, or just want an honest person to do an inspection.

“Golden gate collision did an incredible job fixing my truck after my small fender bender. They got my car in and out of there shop in a very short amount of time. They even mentioned that I should bring my truck back in 30 days for a full exterior detail as they could not wax areas repaired just after paint!!!
