“We stopped by the bookstore to pick up some UCSD apparel. Even though a small area was under renovation, they had plenty of options and we all found something we liked. The lady at the register was incredibly sweet and friendly. When she found out we were attending the graduation ceremony, she thoughtfully gave us a clear bag since that is all that's allowed on the field. Great little bookstore!”

“Such a fun find! Don’t plan to bring in your coffee but do plan to stay a while. My son tried all the chairs and loved the children’s corner. We picked up some books on dinosaurs and it was a real treat hunting for all the dinosaur figures throughout the store. Very cool vibes.”

“This is the best bookstore in town. Independently owned, their selections are masterfully curated, their employees are kind, knowledgeable, and extremely well-read, and the store is simply a joy to be in.

One of my favorite places to shop for gifts. Check out their website if you’re local; they host monthly community events, including a great book club.”

“My favorite book store for sure, I always love to go and peruse the zine library even if I don't have a lot to spend, I can usually get some local zines for $10 or less. Plus the super cute shop cat is an absolute treasure. The decor and atmosphere are just so cozy and beautifully currated I wish I could spend the whole day in there!”

“Warwick's is everything an independent bookstore should be—and more.

As the nation's oldest continuously family-owned bookstore, Warwick's has been delighting readers for generations, and somehow it just keeps getting better. The book selection is outstanding, the staff is knowledgeable, and the author events are constant, bringing everyone from bestselling writers to rising stars right into the heart of La Jolla.

And don't make the mistake of thinking it's just a bookstore. The gifts, stationery, cards, and unique finds are every bit as irresistible as the books. It's the kind of place where you stop in for one thing and leave with three.

In a world of online shopping, Warwick's remains a reminder of why local businesses matter. It's a La Jolla institution, a community gathering place, and one of my favorite spots in the Village.

If you haven't been lately, you're overdue.”

“As the author of The Grant Colson Thriller Series and The SERA Archives Thriller Series, I appreciate local neighborhood bookstores, and Bluestocking Books in Hillcrest is a fun and unique shop.

I even found a copy of one of the old Piers Anthony fantasy novels I grew up on. Those books helped push me toward becoming a writer, along with my shelf of nonfiction polar and mountaineering titles.

The staff here is super courteous and the prices are more than reasonable. It’s great having places like this in the city where people actually know the books, understand the genres, and can point you in the right direction for whatever you’re hunting for. I also noticed the romance shelves while writing The Maui Desire Romance Series, and it’s a thoughtfully curated section that fits the store well.”

“I was just here last week, and this week they already had different book setups. I love them so much with how they're always on top of things, even when they think they're disorganized, they're still the best.”

“5 Stars because book stores are my life and I love them for existing! Unfortunately, I got there at 4:58pm and they were closing up for a book club, so I didn’t get to go inside before I flew back to Texas. Hopefully I will get back to San Diego one day and make it in time to enjoy another book lovers haven in this great city. Support Local Book Stores!”

“This is a must go place among many other attractions in San Diego. In fact, it got to be in the top 10 list for being such a splendid and magnificent architecture in the heart of San Diego, offering a place for book lovers, knowledge seekers etc. There are multiple levels with a huge collection of books, computers, secluded areas to focus on one's work and beautiful views of the beautiful city. There is also an auditorium for various types of events adjacent to a small open area. Parking is nothing to worry about. Come, park and enjoy this luxury.”

“As a thriller and romance author, I always enjoy finding small independent bookstores, and Camino Books is a great little discovery in Del Mar Plaza.

The shop has a cozy, welcoming feel that makes it fun to browse. It’s not a huge store, but the selection is eclectic and thoughtfully chosen, which makes it easy to find something a little different than the usual bookstore fare.

The staff has always been friendly and helpful whenever I’ve stopped in. On one visit I picked up a humorous sayings book that ended up being the perfect gift for a friend, which is exactly the kind of surprise you hope to find in a small independent bookstore.

It’s great to see a place like this still thriving. Camino Books adds character to Del Mar Plaza and is a fun stop whenever I’m in the area.”

“We had a large group, the restaurant was full. We were seated without a long wait, orders were taken in good time and food served without a long wait. Then we were forgotten. Food was excellent and prices reasonable but we had to hunt for service after we received our meal. Too bad.”

“I had such a fun time here! I work nearby and I’d seen this bookstore multiple times and decided to go in and look around. I was not disappointed. They have a huge selection of books. They also have a hefty selection on legos and little Knick knacks. I loved roaming around and just seeing all the different things. If ever in the area I recommend going in and just looking around for fun or if you’re looking for a book I think they’ll have it available (:The kids selection is pretty big. The biggest selection I’ve seen so far!”

“My family visited Geppetto's from out of town and we were so pleasantly surprised to see a locally owned toy shop up and running! There were so many different kinds of toys, creative sets, and scientific discovery kits. Staff were friendly and let us browse at our own pace. Everyone in the family left the shop with something special, including baby and grown ups!”

“Drinks aren’t allowed in the store, and large bags are to be left at the front. I thought it was obvious as to why those rules are set. This bookstore is jam-packed (in a good way!). Some of these books are worth a lot, and the owner wants to keep them, and all the other books, safe. As for the large bags, again, the store is jam-packed; some areas are hard to see from the front. It’s just for security. If you can’t respect these rules, just move on.

The owner is great, and I commend him for running his business for this long. It’s affordable, and I rarely leave the store without buying anything. I will always try to visit when I’m in the area ?”
