I recently called Billiards direct with a few questions on a Predator Cue they had. Brandon answered first time, and spent as long as I needed on the phone to ensure my questions were addressed. He was never pushy - almost felt like I was having a conversation with a knowledgeable friend. Each call after that was also answered first time, even if he had a customer.

I made the purchase and shipping was fast - all of the way from California to Florida. Upon arrival, packaging was flawless, and the cue was exactly as described - in mint condition.

As far as value… the Predator cue I purchased was a special edition line that had recently been discontinued. As you may imagine, they were nearly impossible to find (unless you paid $750 over retail on Marketplace). Only one other major online retailer had one, and in a different color. I had called them first to inquire, and was forced to leave a message as no one would pick up. Finally, the next day I received a call back only to find out that the indicated inventory on their site was wrong, and they hadn’t gotten around to updating it to reflect sold. Even more, the price they had listed was the same as Billiards Direct, BUT their listing didn’t make it clear it was for the butt only. I asked them why they didn’t mention this in the description, and received some long-winded excuse to justify their desire to speak with someone for the opportunity to upsell. I would have had to pay $550 more to add the Revo shaft.

The description on Billiards Direct’s website made it crystal clear their price included both the Butt and the shaft. To be sure, I called (again) and Brandon immediately reassured me the price included everything shown, and even offered a $50 discount for being a new customer (this discount was applied when submitting the order online). He also confirmed the cue was in hand, and he would ship out that day.

I highly recommend reaching out to Billiards Direct. Brandon and his team are honest, thorough, and competent. It is clear they value building long-term customers and a superior reputation. I will be a loyal customer ongoing, and will continue sharing my experience with hundreds of my fellow league players - one who just won the Vegas championship.

“This place is literally the best stocked surf shop I have ever been in. Best of all, without the corporate feel. Its like your cool uncle’s harry's garage met black beard's treasure chest. As my 15 year old would say Hanger 96 is completely lit. I walked in “just to browse” and walked out convinced I needed at least three more surfboards, a hoodie that makes me look 20% cooler, and a hat that may or may not give me better psychic wave-reading powers.

The staff? They did not make me feel like was not cool enough to walk in and ask questions, which is great because I am a total kook most of the time.

They don’t just sell you gear—they hype you up like you’re an american gladiator about to win Pipeline, even if you’re really just wobbling on a foamie in front of the Cardiff kook. I asked one question about wax and got a TED Talk on surf science that somehow made me feel smarter (and maybe a little dumber) at the same time.

Also, shoutout to the vibe. It’s part surf museum, part clubhouse, part “bro, grab a cold drink and stay awhile.” You don’t just shop here—you hang here, make questionable financial decisions, and walk out grinning like you just found buried treasure.
