“This store is simply amazing..great selection....excellent customer service...and amazing worship music to melt away anything negative that happened in the day ..JOY comes upon me every time I walk in this store!”
“Very kind and responsive. I accidentally received the incorrect book and the took care of it immediately when I reached out, and were very understanding. Definitely recommend!”
“Great shop, glad I happened upon it, though that wasn’t a coincidence I’m sure. Rhapsody makes tons of oils and incense. Her and her staff are incredibly knowledgeable and can help you with all of your metaphysical needs. I knew the name of her shop from previous Google searches but hadn’t made it in as I was on the other side of Long Beach at the time. Ended up in the same center and recognized the name and checked it out. They can answer any questions you have and have oils, incense, crystals, tools, books and much more to fit your needs. Also hold classes to sign up for!”
“This is my family’s favorite bookstore. We’ve found many great vintage children’s books at decent prices. The staff is friendly, and the environment is inclusive.”
“Very adorable bookstore. A classic environment with a great selection of books. One of my favorite bookstores this side of the Mississippi!!! Definitely check it out!”
“As soon as you cross the threshold, you're met with the wonderful smell of ink on paper. Plenty of seating, to sit down and browse. Wide aisles that you can stand in or kneel and check the shelves out. And if you're feeling up to it, do a little impulse shopping for some really interesting gifts, journals, pens and more for yourself or someone else. Conclude your visit with a coffee and a pastry whilst leafing through your purchases.”
“Great little bookshop. Good chats with owner & customers. New & used books. Closed on MONDAYS!!! I will be going back every chance I get when I visit Long Beach to housesit nearby.”

“Variety of material for churches and very friendly customer service. Highly recommend this place if you need anything for your church from babies to adults they have it all and their prices are great as well.”
“I love how they've become more Indie-like in recent years. I just wish they would change their hours or change their tactics. They make you feel very unwelcome after 8:00 or so. They make announcements often, go around telling you they are closing, at 8:30 ask you to make final decisions, lock the entry way early. I understand people get distracted in bookstores. I understand they don't want to stay late. I just think stores that simply change their hours to help with that become much more welcoming to the customer.”
“Jazmine at the Customer Service Department is great. She assisted me with all my concerns and even remembered my face when I came back. Thank you for a great experience at the Bookstore”
“Used books and collectibles here. I found one of my most prized books here. An Aorcraft yearbook for 1929. I also bought a 1958 owners glovebox manual for a Corvette. A great place to shop and there is a large antique mall next door.”
“Awesome record store that besides a great selection has excellent service. They have great events as well. It looks like they might also deal in used stereo equipment. Support your local music store and love doing it.”
“The best bookstore in Long Beach!! The owner does such an amazing job selecting books and hosts great book clubs. Plus the book related goodies she has are always on point and great for presents.”
“The selection of many different items is wonderful. The owners & staff are very helpful and kind. I found everything I wanted, and I'm fairly sure if they don't have what you want, they will order it for you. The store is small but the arrangement is good and the store is clean. I enjoyed my visit there and will be going back, thank you!”
“Cleanest, most organized BOOK OFF ever! Everything is so well organized which makes browsing for any item so easy. We found so many books and dvds on our list. Plus the staff where all very friendly and welcoming. We'll definitely be visiting this location again.”
“My family and I were visiting from Utah. Found this place, and the owners welcomed me in for some casual chess games. The games were awesome! Charlene did a great job in helping me find some souvenirs, too! This place is very friendly and the people who play here are also kind! I bought a chess set for my oldest son and a chess clock/timer! If we ever visit again, I'll be coming back!”
“Good to support local community businesses. Atmosphere: It's a small shop, but has a lot of potential. Quality not quanity. Food: N/A Service: Great service and very knowledgeable. Tip: Get yourself some water here at the shop. He has a high filtration type of water that feels silky and smooth.”
“Best smoothie business I have been to in a very long time. Staff was extremely friendly! They are knowledgeable about the benefits of each of fruit and vegetable going into your smoothie. Time between placing order and receiving smoothie was fairly quick. I will definitely return.”
“Loved being back in college again! Kind of got a Rodney Dangerfield experience " but with respect!! Thank you all ?❤️? we r the human race!! Knowledge is power and power in numbers! America ??️ together we can do anything!!”
“Lots to choose from. Quality products. From the front of the store to the back and sides, this place sure does have tons and tons of items to choose from!! CSUDH has an awesome selection of books, clothes, snacks, gifts, alumni products, and more!! Go see if you love this college and want great stuff. ?”

I got a question, does this store sells Action Bibles? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? for how much do you sell them for? ?? ? ? ? ? ? Because I've been looking for this book for a long, long, long time. “We recently visited Alabadle store, and were very impressed by the variety of books, CD's, gifts and other items so appropriate and beautiful for the home or gift giving. The customer service lady who was there at the time of our visit was very kind, friendly and helpful with our needs. The store is clean, ample and no one is rushing you to buy anything. We did buy a lovely item and will definitely go back soon, as Christmas is going to be here sooner than we expect, and the gift variety here is truly awesome. Hace poco visitamos mi esposo y yo esta librería y tienda de regalos, y realmente nos encanto la variedad de libros, CD's, regalos para la casa o para obsequiar. La señora que nos atendió es súper amable y nada que nos presionó para comprar algo. Realmente no es necesario pues la tienda es amplia, cómoda, limpia y con mucha variedad de todo. Si compramos un regalo precioso y vamos a regresar pues ahora que se acerca Navidad hay que comprar algunos regalos y aquí tiene unos muy lindos.”
“I am really enjoying my time here. God was so faithful in bringing me here. I am a commercial music major, and the smaller class sizes overall in the music department have been a blessing in us getting more instructor help. One of my music professors has super gone out of his way for me too, like zoom calling when I've needed sight singing help, and even driving to school in the evening one day to help me with a music tech assignment. My other music professors have been open, invitational, and available for office hours and email questions too. I really appreciate how overall the Conservatory of music is humble at Biola, and that they incorporate Jesus into what we do and bringing Him glory through our art, yet striving to be excellent in that at the same time with our music. I am also in Torrey, and WOW. It is such a rich learning experience. I've been learning how to discuss with others on different types of books, whether it's the Bible, book by C.S. Lewis, or books by non Christian authors who have very different beliefs. We look at different perspectives, discuss what a book is talking about, yet still hold to Biblical views. The Torrey professors are wonderful overall, they put you with a mentor, and mine (Dr. Henderson) is awesome. I love the socratic model Torrey enforces, the writing, and my cohort has awesome people in it, who even with being from different places, including different states, having different personalities, love Jesus and respect each other overall. All my professors have been investing in their students in some shape or form, and overall they really care about student's character. I came from a public high school, and while I appreciate experiences I had there, it was super different than Biola. It feels so nice to have a hugely increased number of teachers and peers that really overall treat me with the love of Jesus, including kindness. I have never seen a place where so many people treated others like they are made in God's image. It's definitely not perfect, I have seen students say and do things they shouldn't here and there, but overall, it has been wonderful, people overall are really kind and welcoming. Biola is a beautiful model of Biblical unity amidst diversity. I've also really enjoyed how they try to celebrate different ethnicities there. The school is super Christ-centered. I thought the chapels and teaching here would be like baby Christian milk, but while there is milk, there is also meat. Good balance, especially for so many different people at different places in their walks with God. Overall, great commuter community, the collegium is a blessing. Finally, a shout out to campus security. I commute, and my car needed to be jumpstarted one time. They literally have a jump start kit in the office. The other day also, I didn't realize it, but my tire was flat, and turns out there was a nail in it. I got a call from campus security about it, saying that a Residential Director saw it and called it in, and they wanted to let me know so I wouldn't drive away with it. I appreciate the 24/7 campus security line, the phone operators are so friendly overall, and I appreciate cs driving around campus, including at night, and keeping watch, too. I'm glad that campus security, and people on this campus, are looking out for me. So blessed that Jesus has got my back, and He has been using the people here at Biola in doing that.”
“Awesome store that will help with purchase of products that are not in the store. You’re able to look at a wide selection of aviation products before you buy. One of the only remaining pilot shops in Southern California I’m little biased.”
“Juan Laine is not only the owner but a Mentor; someone who will motivate you to surround yourself with what inspires you; with the art that will feed your soul; with the best books that will give you hope; deep conversations that will increase your creativity; will put you in touch with exquisite music that brings joy to your heart and wonderful sceneries that will strengthen your spirit. I have been attending his Book Club for 7 years and has certainly pushed me to be better and to serve.”
“I love shades of Africa, from the atmosphere to Ms. Renee being so welcoming. The products are amazing. Most stores if not all when you go in to purchase items such as hair products or skin products they can only be used for those specific things. With the many handmade products at Shades of Africa there may be a description such as hair oil or body wash but they can be used all over and I love that. You get quality products! I pick up products in stores and wonder why all of those harmful ingredients are needed to make things as simple as lotion or body wash, it’s not necessary. I can shop here and not have to worry about about any cancer causing chemicals or harsh dyes. You’re also helping out many small black owned businesses even some from other countries such as Kenya. I get majority of my skin, body, and hair care products and will continue to do so. I love being able to support small black owned businesses and I’m grateful to have found a store that sells amazing natural products.”
“It is the best to seek the presence of God, for the salvation of your soul and eternal life, go and praise the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and Almighty God, beautiful praise to God.”
“An extensive collection of books, games, and electronics. Not really a place to sit down and enjoy, and the prices are at least okay, though the book prices can be fantastic and well worth a deal.”
