The selection is really strong and well curated, with a good mix of sealed product and options for different types of collectors. Everything felt organized and intentional ,not chaotic or picked over.
No pressure, no sales tactics, just a straightforward, well-run card shop with someone who understands the hobby and treats people right. Definitely a place I’ll keep coming back to.

“Recently went to Olhausen to look at and hopefully purchase a pool table. We were met by Brian, who very nicely and very patiently ( as we knew nothing about pool tables lol ) answered all of our questions and then some. We purchased a pool table and left VERY happy. The great customer service did not stop there. When Sam and Travis showed up to deliver and setup our pool table, they were extremely nice, very thorough, and informative. They did a very professional job and very quickly we were playing pool on our very own pool table!! I can’t recommend them highly enough!”
“1st time coming here. Came for a diagnostic for my son's TRAXX that wasn't working. I want to say it was Nate (sorry if Igot the name wrong) took it in right away, identified it was the motor, and said they can have it fixed in 30 minutes. This was with no appointment, just walked in, and zero hassle. 100% helpful. I left the store to run an errand and they called in less than 10 minutes saying it was fixed. Outstanding service.”
“My 8 year old son discovered this store on Deep Pocket Monster’s YouTube channel. We gave it a try this evening and it surely didn’t disappoint! Welcome the second we walked in and saw an awesome collection of singles and we ended up getting 5 journey together packs and ripped them in store. My son opened them up getting 3 Ex’s and pulled this awesome hit! He didn’t stop talking about it all night and is dying to go back again! “My first time in the shop and the staff was very helpful. This is a very well stocked model railroad hobby shop that is also very easy to get to. Parking can be a bit tight . It looked like most if not all scales are represented with good general selections and a nice selection of spare parts as well. There is also a great consignment display that I was happy to relieve of a nice piece of Santa Fe brass. 😀😉”

“These folks deserve a higher rating. For all of Starlink’s innovation, their system becomes far more usable with Flag Pole Buddy’s accessories. And as everyone else notes. FPB’s customer service is friendly and helpful. Two reviews from 2018 capture complaints, but overall there are many more of us who rely on FPB daily. It’s good, old-fashioned, innovative American manufacturing, and they easily get my five stars.”

“Good sized space, lots of planes and parts for planes, no train stuff. Why only 4? There is no rhyme or reason of the inventory. Some stuff had dedicated spaces but others were place wherever it fit, challenging to find anything.”

“I had a pretty bad experience with these guys 15 years ago. After my shop in carlsbad became unusable (and I live in alpine) I decided to try again. They have new employees. The older gentleman who is there are Thursdays in particularly nice. And they helped me by tested coins that I got scammed on ebay with. They are now my go to store.”

The owner was incredibly kind and patient with him, pulled up a chair, walked him through all the calculations, and really took the time to explain everything instead of talking over him or dismissing him because he’s a kid.
My son left feeling excited, informed, and genuinely respected. We had visited another shop previously that felt intimidating, so this experience stood out even more. Such a welcoming atmosphere and such a good experience for a young collector/entrepreneur. We’ll absolutely be back!”

“Shipped my Tekno EB48 2.1 to RC Car Stars for their Super Tuneup Service along with an ESC reprogramming, new body prep and trimming, and installation of some upgrade parts. The turn around time was longer than expected, and Matt was hard to get ahold of at times. However, he does great work! Matt was very thorough with the end product and was detailed in his explanations of all the work performed as well as offering driving advice to myself as a newbie to the hobby. A detailed setup sheet of all the adjustments made on the buggy was also provided. Return shipment box was packed with care. Thanks for the great work Matt! I look forward to trying this new setup at my next club race!”
