“This review is for their paella and service associated with that. We stopped by here on a trip to Saratoga after hearing about their Friday paella special. It was very exciting to see the giant vat if paella being made outside the store. The staff were super friendly. After seating us outside the store front, they came by to check on us and even made us some of their favorite drinks too! The paella itself was tasty too. It is not too soggy and had more of a homemade feel to it. Overall it was a delicious start to our Saratoga trip. I'd be excited to return to look at their other products!”

“Al Forat Market makes wonderful takeout kebabs, barbecued chicken, barbecued meat, barbecued vegetables, and barbecued onions. The chicken, meat, and vegetables are always very fresh and cooked to perfection. The portions are huge, and the prices are budget level. The store is spotlessly clean. “I always purchased from Genes Mkt. One day I asked the butcher where they got them from...the rest is history. When you see and enter the shop it's like out of a scene from The Soprano's. They have the glass cases, the refrigerator storeroom in the back, and the processing area to the left. Very minimal, old school. The best. I always place my order ahead of time and they have it ready. Hot or mild, in the casing or bulk. Family run and owned. Do yourself a favor and check it out. You will be kicking yourself in the butt for not knowing about them sooner. Oh, by the way, the sausages are delicious !!”

“I came here solely for the taco nadas and left with pizza nadas as well. They are $2 each. These savory pastries bring back so many memories from high school. My friends and I have been eager to have a taco nada again and I was happy to have found this place! The lady who was working was very welcoming and nice. “This industrial place is a hidden gem tucked on a street along side the backside of Mineta San joseAirport, close to the Santa Clara/San Jose Costco area Came in looking for Spanish chorizo. I used in a paella and chorizo was seasoned just right. Each chorizo was a bit slim, but packed with flavor. While in the parking lot, I saw a restaurant van pull up. So I felt good that restaurants purchase products here. One can miss it as it's in an industrial location, but look for the tiny sign : I highly suggest this tiny warehouse storefront for your meat sausage, links, or other items looking like sausage.”

In particular, the bulgogi seasoning fascinated everyone, and their radish soup was enough to warm up the cold weather. It is true that their products are more expensive than other places. “This place is not as bad as other "Yelpers" are making it to be, however this place can use a slight face-lift. It's not necessarily a place to do your full blown shopping. Items that are "popular" to the so called American customers and not so much to the Brown Indigenous (Native American/Mexican,etc) yes those items will obviously be outdated. I mainly go there for the queso fresco Mexicano and purple corn tortilla and at times I get other items that are likely to be in high demand GET IT. For example I won't go to an "Asian" market to look for tortilla or Tapatio hot sauce WHY because I know at that particular store it's not in HIGH DEMAND!!!!”

“Quintessential East San Jo Grocer. Very heavy lean on hispanic digs but I'd say also about the other 30% of the offerings here are legit Asian with a heavy lean on things Vietnamese. I stock my fridge and pantry with more things from places like this than say Safeway or Whole Foods, so I was a good fit for this place. The store is somewhat in the hood, there's a security guard up front all the time. The store is pretty big, bigger than most corner stores. This is probably the size of an old American grocery back in the day, when the Bay Area was about a third the size as it is today. The store is pretty clean and well stocked and I was able to easily spot some sweet ass deals. I have a side hustle in this area, so I'll pop in every 2 weeks or so and I usually leave with a nice sized bags worth of staples. I love their produce and meat counter here, much more ethnic in offerings. Asian greens, chiles of all sizes and heat, herbage and even a seasonal fruit or 2. Most great prices, beats both Safeway and 99 Ranch. Their meat counter is order by the piece or pound. Didn't see things pre-packaged so you will need an employee, which I actually find charming in an old school way. No big selection for things like steak (unless it is carne asada) but many things meant to get cooked low and slow, which is a very ethnic way to cook. So lots of meats for braising/stewing or even slow roasting, which is actually my preferred way to cook on most days. Huge offal area too, better and more thorough than anything I have in my local area. Definitely an old worlder's dream and an American suburbanites nightmare. Even though I live in the suburbs, I definitely live with more old world tendencies. The only part I didn't really care for over here was their seafood counter. Very sparse and looked a bit sketchy. Even an American grocery store had a more valid seafood section, and that's kinda saying a lot. But outside of that one knock, this place fits me quite well. I'll continue to shop here, as long as my travels keeps me in their path. A service that suits me well.”

“I didn't know what to expect from this store after moving in the area but I'm glad I finally went. I heard great things about their sandwiches and decided to try them. The woman who helped me with my order was very helpful and very nice. As she made my meal I had a chance to walk through the store. Came across a few other employees who were also very nice. I ended up with a meatloaf sandwich and a container of what they called Chinese chicken. I thought the meatloaf was okay but the chicken was so tasty and delicious. I'm going back for more sandwiches and will try the other ones over time. I'm not going to leave without the Chinese chicken. Bottom line in my opinion is that the service is great and I will be returning. Worth the time and effort to go there”
