Everyone at the office is friendly and very helpful. Always a pleasure to stop by. Surprisingly busy for population of about 5500 people, of course there is no mail delivery so people do need to come to the post office for their mail.”
“The staff here are so kind and friendly ❤ and very patient...They were very helpful when I was trying to send my Selective Service letter. They were also extremely patient when I came to fill out my passport application: I was late and filled out both pages incorrectly...so grateful the staff took their time with me ❤? thank you ?

“The lobby, where postal boxes are located is closed now in the evening, from 19:30 until 8:00. That’s somehow inconvenient but it’s for safety since it’s too close Pacifica beach and some people spent the night inside, charged their phones, etc.”

“I am writing this review to formally commend Phenney at the Westlake location. I visited today on May 4 and witnessed her working very hard at the sales window entirely alone, handling a long line of customers, package processing, and front-desk duties simultaneously. Despite the overwhelming workload, she was professional, efficient, and incredibly patient. Phenney is doing the work of two people with the poise of a professional. She is a massive asset to the United States Postal Service and deserves to be recognized for her work ethic and dedication. It is unfair for her because management leaves only one person to perform the work of two or three people. She deserves a raise, but more importantly she deserves support. This branch needs to hire more staff immediately. Do NOT let this hardworking employee burn out. She is the only reason the Westlake branch is functioning. I would give Phenney 10 stars if I could because she is the best.”

“I don’t know why they won’t save the hours on here—it is so annoying to look it up over and over. I uploaded it yesterday for counter hours but someone deleted them so I am reposting it like this.
I have only had one issue where they accidentally gave one of my packages to someone else. They were able to track that person and they were nice enough to give it back.
It is kind of weird, they used to have a phone number for the location, but they took that down too. It makes me wonder who doesn’t want to deal with the extra customer service lol! Can’t blame them, but it is just unusual compared to the other post offices in the area. I’ve been to San Bruno, San Mateo, the Geary post, Burlingame, etc, and this is the only one that keeps deleting info you can find online so it’s inconvenient when you need to check if you’re going to make it on time using Google maps.
Like most usps-they are closed holidays and Sundays.”

“I came in at 4:55pm with a 25lb box, no shipping label, and no idea what service to use. They close at 5:00pm and I had full confidence that I wouldn’t get any help and would have to come back another day. I was so wrong! I was next in line and the clerk who took care of me was awesome. I said “I need help” to which he replied “I do too!” After a quick chuckle I told him I just need tracking, speed doesn’t matter. He gave me the cheapest option and got my label ready for me (the package to its destination in 2 business days for $28!). I was back in my car by 5:00pm. Every interaction I’ve had at this location has been very pleasant and the staff has been super helpful, knock on wood! That’s why I keep coming back to this one.”
“First time at this PO. Mind you, I've been to many, because I mail packages back home a lot. It was small but had all the necessary supplies for shipping, even a couple of local cards. Michael is not too friendly. I'd describe him as serious but polite, and that may have to do with him probably being the only clerk there. If you don't mind waiting and in no hurry, it's convenient for those of us who live in the area. He's a huge Warriors fan! From all the fan gear posted. Bay area sports represented, of course!”

I'm happy to see this place is still alive and kicking. It looks like they've cut their hours significantly.
Overall, the place is clean and not too busy. When I came to get a receipt for a package, I was dropping off at the window. There was no one there, but as soon as I said, "Hello," someone came running. She was super helpful and nice. Parking is very hard here that's why people always tend to double park ?♀️”
“This is not an easy station. Customers can be difficult & although the neighborhood is changing, it is still rough. Clerks do the best they can & are overworked. Carriers have a high turnover rate or leave for shorter routes in other stations.
I need this post office to remain open. It is a lifeline for many of us in the Bayview/Hunterpoint area! It starts from the top & the post office as an entire structure needs a re-org (in my humble opinion).”

“This is my favorite post office. I find the staff are totally professional. Their hours are excellent. The self-serve kiosk is always working, and the lady who accepts the packages at the counter is amazingly efficient and responsive. My only problem with this location is it’s hard to access on public transportation, which is not the USPS’s problem, but since the West Portal station is going to be closed for so long due to the fire there, I wish the postmaster would go to bat with MUNI over re-routing some buses to Lakeshore Plaza.”
