“Came here for brake work and had some questions about what I should be looking at for my 100K-mile maintenance. From the moment I called, the owner, Joe, went above and beyond to answer my questions. Instead of simply telling me to bring the car in and that they wouldn’t know anything until they looked at it, he took the time to explain the how and why behind everything and made sure I actually understood what I was asking about. It was genuinely educational and VERY appreciated.
What stood out most was how much Joe genuinely cares about making sure his customers understand what is being repaired, why it needs to be repaired, and what things should look like. I never felt like I was being talked into something just because I didn’t know much about cars.
He got me in and out quickly, provided detailed information about the work, and was incredibly friendly and professional. The pricing was very reasonable.

“Fantastic service! After having an unhelpful experience with another shop I found myself stranded again with a car that wouldn't start. After reading online reviews I chose Highlands. Was i expecting the cheapest place in town, no, was i expecting good service, yes. I was not let down.
I spoke with Robert on the phone and he advised me to tow my car in first thing in the morning. He was helpful but honest and set proper expectations about the cost to diagnose the issue, electrical issues could take a couple hours of labor.
Towed in first thing on a Friday morning. Eric, the mechanic on duty, listened to my issues. Really listened, and asked about former maintenance (y'all hating on me for getting oil changes at walmart) , listened to my description of the starting issue and what steps have been taken so far.
Again I was left with good expectations. Not all rainbows and kittens, it was not all good news, it was honest.
While they had my car, Eric communicated with updates and approvals to repair once the problem was isolated to the starter.
I was very lucky they had the bandwidth to complete my repair in ONE day (previous shop had it a week with no result. Not entirely their fault because the starter magically worked again once towed there..sigh).
So to wrap up, as a woman with little knowledge and only resources being Google and reddit for price expectations i can say I was charged a fair price for the work done. But the added value of a top-notch mechanic with communication skills made it more than worth it.
