“The Garland is the nicest, cleanest hotel we've ever stayed at in LA—everything was spotless and felt so fresh and welcoming. The staff was phenomenal: warm, friendly, and incredibly helpful from check-in to checkout. They made our whole stay feel special. I loved the retro Hollywood vibe—it's charming, unique, and so much fun. The rooms were really nice, spacious, and beautifully decorated. The complimentary trolley to Universal Studios was a total game-changer—super convenient, ran on time, and dropped us right at the entrance. If you're heading to Universal or just want a standout spot in the area, The Garland is perfect. We can't wait to return.”

“Had a great stay. Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were comfy and quiet. We had a good view on the 4th floor. Things were clean and felt professional. Wish there was a breakfast bar but they did serve coffee and juice 24/7. Also was right in the area we need to be, to go to the event we attended. Plus was close to other food and drink options in walking distance! Overall really great ?”
“Absolutely beautiful property, I loved the room it was spacious (love love love that), loved the decor. And, the bed was really comfortable. To this hotels management team I'd say that they should look into putting a full length mirror in every room...it's always nice to look yourself over before going out. Also, 2 towels in the bathroom just doesn't cut it for me.”
“The Chateau was full due to the Grammys, so we checked in across the street—what a lucky find! Very personable yet stylish, with a great balance of renovation and preservation. Excellent mixology, and an even better breakfast (served until 11). Valet parking was seamless, and the pool was perfect. We’ll definitely be back ASAP.”
“What a clean and hip boutique motel. The breakfast pastries were great. The room was perfect for me and my wife. So many restaurants within walking distance. Rooms we nice and well organised.
The included Continental breakfast was underwhelming, but when we ordered scrambled eggs they were very nice.
Unfortunately they forgot to make our room on the last night and we were out all day. When we informed them they sent a set of fresh towels up immediately, which was good.
Bar is great but a little pricey.
Pool area is nice, clean and easy to hang out in.
Overall I would stay there again.”

“Great front desk staff and bellmen. There was an unbelievable amount of luggage in the luggage storage room in the lobby, yet the bellmen kept it all straight - we had absolutely no issues. Great luggage storage management is a must, especially if you arrive at the hotel before your check-in time or need to leave your luggage before it's time to depart the hotel.”

“Traveling from Kansas City, Missouri, where we recently experienced 4 to 5 inches of snow, to California presented its own challenges, . However, my stay at the Hampton Inn Suites in Los Angeles/Sherman Oaks turned out to be the highlight of my trip. The staff, from the front desk to maintenance and housekeeping, provided exceptional service, making me feel welcomed and valued. Despite ongoing renovations, which I hardly noticed, the overall experience was outstanding. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area. I would like to give a huge shutout to Mr. Athnasious, who worked the front desk he is a Saint he did everything to make my stay wonderful and I truly appreciate him.”

“Loved this place! You can really feel the history the moment you walk in. Everyone looks at you like you might be a celebrity—which honestly made me feel like one. “Been here many times over about 5 years. The bar at the pool often has different hours than advertised/ posted and they still don't have room service or food service at the pool according to the staff I spoke to. Sucks because nearly everyone at the pool would order food if they could. This poor valet had to enter my card information by hand because the device they use is broken and management apparently hasn't replaced it. Seemed strange and unfair to them. Also one of the soap dispensers in the bathroom has been broken for many weeks. Sometimes the wood keys don't work, have had to get them replaced minutes after being issued, and the door to the pool deck seems broken from time to time. Hard to get in, or out. With a few small tweaks, i'm sure there r others needed too, would be in 5 star territory. I also think they should hire more valets as there is typically a line/ wait to drop off and to pick up cars even during the day.”

“I really enjoyed the hotel. However, I do want to state, I have never stayed at a hotel where they stop breakfast early. I'm not talking about starting to tidy up and put some things up. The Hispanic women who does it, closes it completely by 830am. This hotel is so great but one hostile employee is ruining it for everyone. A man walked up to her with decaf coffee he didn't mean to get and didn't want to throw in the trash in case it leaked. He said, Ma'am, would you dispose of this cup I got decaf instead of regular on accident. Her response was, "you NEED to read the signs!" as she pointed aggressively with her finger.”

“The hotel looks nice in photos but felt a bit underwhelming in person. Our room was clean but outdated, with older furniture and a small TV. The elevator was very slow, and one night it even stopped working. On the plus side, the staff were courteous, and the location couldn’t be better — walking distance to shops, cafes, and the beach. It’s okay for a short stay, but I don’t think I’d choose it again for a longer trip.”

“Really enjoyed my stay here. Clean and spacious rooms. For long stays these rooms are ideal, they have a kitchenette, and they provide a griddle upon request. We went down to the bar and enjoyed ourselves. Bar had a good selection of liqueur and beer. Good food as well. Will stay here again if I'm in the area as well. Only thing is that you need to valet park your car, $35 bucks a night. They don't have self parking spots I was told. But enjoyed my stay.”

She was patient with our questions, even deciding to comp parking after we explained our situation. My experience at check in set my entire stay up for success. Room was very clean and spacious.
