“as i was installing the last mount for a roof rack, the bolt sheared off. i went to uptown to explain the issue to see if they can help with this unusual job. first, they didn't laugh at me. lauren and the team examined the issue, came up with a proposal and estimate. a couple of days later, they had my car washed and ready to go. not only that, they polished my headlight lenses! the folks at uptown are genuinely friendly and service-oriented. i will not hesitate to recommend uptown!”

“All I can say is WOW! My beloved car was in a nasty wreck and the team at Caliber on 11th went above and beyond at every chance they got. From my very first call, Lee was kind, patient and hilarious, making this very difficult time a much easier experience. He was communicative and went out of his way to get the process rolling ASAP, even though my insurance company had not contacted them yet.

Next, I was assigned to Eric, my service advisor, and I couldn't be more impressed with his professionalism, industry knowledge and thorough attention to both my vehicle's and my own needs. He took the time to walk me through all of the expected repairs, answer all of my questions (no matter how many times I called or emailed) and communicate my vehicle's progress. He was super communicative, letting me know when he would be OOO and made sure I had backup contact information. He went out of his way to get me a great price on some extra repairs while my car was in the shop. I even got to leave with a couple of products to help take care of my car-baby.

I'm almost sad to know that I won't be seeing the team again (I hope!) but if I ever need any body work, I will 100% come back and will continue to recommend Caliber on 11th to anyone who will listen. Eric and Lee made this the "best worst" experience of my life and I will be forever grateful!”

My car broke down outside their shop, and not only did they push it down the block, into their garage, and diagnose it (engine failure) they were SO kind and accommodating while I tried to get it sold and/or towed. They were incredibly patient with me while I worked out what to do and even helped me get everything done to get the car signed over to the new buyer even though they knew they were only collecting the diagnostic fee from me. “Angelica and Alfonso are great family team that took care of my bumper problem. A few other mechanics told me I had to order a new bumper but these guys dealt with the issue perfectly and they even patched up some dings with their paint without me asking for it. They straightened part of the bumper that was bent as well. They repaired my work vehicle Honda Fit so well that it’s going to be ready for more years to come although it’s old!Their repair looks great and firm, and I’m perfectly happy with their response time to reasonable fee for such great job.When I have another issue I’ll definitely go back. Plus I love supporting small local business in Oakland. “Stop looking at other places - this is where you want to go. Single woman, being quoted $2k by other places, fully expecting to be overcharged wherever I go. I pull in here last week and the guy is so chill, does some work and dots some paint on and tells me to buy the part needed myself to save money and come back with it. I did that today and it's installed and he asked for less than 5% of what others were quoting. Fortunately, I know thatTranStar Auto Body Shop (Phat Tran) provides just the service you need. Phat is very personable and efficient. His prices are fair. He is knowledgeable and you can tell that he knows what he is talking about. I needed to have the side view mirror replaced. In addition, in the last few years the 2016 Altima had picked up dents and scratches and was looking pretty ratty. When Phat was done, the car looked bright and shiny. This was not a one-time thing. If you go to TranStar Auto Body Shop, you can expect superior work. If I could give 10 stars, I would.”

“Yesterday evening Los Cuates Towing was the first number I called, no one picked up. But my call was returned within a minute. Francisco was professional and so was the gentleman (I did not get his name) that showed up with the tow truck to get my car out of where I got stuck (grass area). A big plus he arrived within the time given and once my car was in the clear he even offered to park my car to make it easy for me to drive off so I would not get stuck once again.Thank you again!”

“I had a tricky electrical issue, on this complicated newfangled 21st century vehicle, and had done all I could myself. I lucked into finding this shop of top SAE certified, no nonsense pro, master mechanics. I was convinced to bring the car in after I talked to Bruce the business's chief mechanic and owner on the phone. I asked him if he had ever came across such "a weird problem as mine?" and "How much?"
He simply said right away, "After forty years in the trade, (and in the same location, too), "there's nothing we haven't seen!"
Very busy, old school shop, but very up to date. Like a car repair factory, fast and efficient, with the know how of long experience, like me! They take pride in their operation, and their persistence is proof. By the way the price was something even I could afford, because of it's value, efficiency, with right the first time accuracy.

“Y'all. We know that having car issues is never fun. But Carlos and Patty at OCC made the entire process manageable and pleasant. I had to get a tire, strut, and suspension replaced, and Patty did a fantastic job walking me through the entire process and keeping me updated via phone. Patty made it her priority to make sure I knew what was going on with my car, and she was so approachable. I felt like she really looked out for me. Carlos was out of the office, but I ended up meeting him since my situation took ~3 weeks. Their business is family-run/owned and they're local residents of Oakland too! Their body shop is legit, hooked up with security cameras and on the corner of 10th/5th, so you can't miss it! On the day I picked up my car, there was a hiccup where I they forgot to do a final diagnostic run. But no sweat! Carlos hooked me up, ordered the remaining parts that were necessary, and got my car fully fixed up in 4 hours! SAME DAY! He even dropped me and picked me up from my place so I didn't have to wait in the shop (although that couch they have is pretty comfy). Carlos, thanks for also cleaning up my engine...that was totally out of the goodness of his heart. I believe they also buffed my car and washed it up because when it was sitting in the tow yard, it did not look that shiny and clean. Patty and Carlos are transparent and genuine Oaktown folks. I would 1000% send my Prius back for future repairs. They really do a good job, are thorough, and try their best to communicate when they say they do. Support your local body shop, they're women-owned and BIPOC-run. If you're looking to get your car fixed, tell your insurance you're going to OCC.”

“My whole experience was great, I needed a sunroof glass replacement. But they didn’t have it in stock, thankfully “Anthony” was helpful enough to order one to get delivered in less than a week, 2-3 days. Took my vehicle on a Saturday morning for my sunroof replacement. I was out of there in less than 2 hours, they have a complimentary waiting room. Overall very satisfied customer would definitely recommend.”

“Needed a cylinder head for a 1995 Plymouth 2.5L SOHC engine. So fortunate to discover King Cylinder Heads and Mike. What a great opportunity to buy a new casting and not be forced to the the risk on a "repaired head". This particular model car is a nightmare to tear down and doing it twice is not an option.Amazingly the head arrived within 48 hours of my order. The casting has been improved from the OEM with beefier walls between the intake and exhaust valves right where the typical OEM heads crack.Given the great price, fast shipping, improved casting, and amazing service there really is no other way to go. My next repair is a 2003 For Ranger with a cracked head and there is no question as to whom I am calling.”

“I don’t know about what they were doin 7-8 years ago but I took my 79 Chevy to them because way before I went to them I heard nothing but good things about that shop , they got my car done in 2 1/2 months with all bodywork complete . I end up not liking the final color and decided to change the complete color and they were cool with that , I bought another paint kit and they had the car done again within another 3 weeks ? ??? never heard nothing bad about that shop but they might be a lil expensive lol ✅”
