“Dope Era is, No Question the Saucest clothing store I have ever had the pleasure of stepping inside the front door of. Fab is the Man also No Question, I'm not saying that because I know the guy or because we were both raised in North Oakland. I'm saying that because it's a great store that offers a great experience and mainly because your drip will be turned up to a Million degrees after you throw on the gear you just purchased from Dope Era Believe it! I also wanted to say or more like needed to say that them cats working in there M or F are top of the line individuals that refused to let an old head like myself walk out of there without his drip dripping off his frame in a proper way and that's is coming from a who has been dripping candy clean since before drip was wet and dripping yadada mean? The name happens to be Scottie Thurman , one of the few Oakland Hoop legends from Bushrod Park in The North side of Oakland, I have always had the utmost respect and admiration for Mistah Fab and when we finally met he was like , yeah I know you by name only, your reputation proceeds you, they say you was a real problem for some hall of famers back in the day , it was said by someone and I won't say who that you someone who is also an Oakland Hoop Legend Superstar that you never lost to him or anyone a one v one match including the person who I HEARD say this and he won't have a problem with me saying his name, Hook Mitchell the Super Duper Star when it comes to street Hoop legends he is number #1 and he is one of your best friends no hook said you was his brother and that when you get it going your truly Unstoppable and he said you could go full speed without ever stopping and he Called you Y.C. what does Y.C. mean? It means Yo... ..”

“Julie at Maple Street Denim is incredible at determining fit and talking through differences between the denim brands and designs that her store carries. I found a pair of denim that was perfect for me and my first pair of selvedge! In love with the fit -- definitely trust Julie to help you find a size that works. Maybe due to modern vanity sizing, but I had to go 2-3 sizes down from my normal denim. I'll be back for repairs for my well-loved pairs :)”

“You can tell everything in this store was perfectly curated and picked! It's got a lot of heart, price ranges from low to high but that's reasonable considering they have smaller, local brands. “This place has been absolutely outstanding when it comes to tailoring my clothes! I have taken a countless amount of clothes specifically pants here to get hemmed in length and to adjust waist size. All I can say is that every pair comes out perfect! If you want high quality hemming for your clothes at a great price I highly recommend Mr. Lee's!! Edit: I forgot I left a review for Lee's co a couple days ago already but I will leave this second review up cause this place is that good!! I just picked up 4 pants today length was perfectly hemmed and the waist perfectly fit me! The hemming and stitching is so high quality you can't even tell it was hemmed! I am honestly so impressed!”

“Flew into town with no luggage not expecting a long stay luckily this Ross dress for less was not far. Considering the amount of mixed aged Clothing- I was still able to come up with something the location is super convenient next to the beauty supply that has all of the accessories that they don’t I might make traveling without luggage a thing now. “I purchased some jeans GAP online during at 50% off sale. However, one pair did not fit well and I wanted to exchange it for a slim cut. Not having had to do an online return, I text chatted with a customer service rep and she explained the steps to return the pants, reorder and pay for the new pants and that it would take up to 25 business days for my return to be processed and credit to be issued. Not wanting to deal with the process, I decided to do the exchange at a store. GAP has been closing many locations and stores are few and far in between. Luckily the nearest store was only 9 miles away at the Lakeshore area and I found a parking space down the block.There was no wait and I was able to walk up to the cashier and explained my intent to do an exchange. She said I would be credited for my purchase, but I would have to purchase the new jeans at the current price and not at the price I paid, which didn't make sense. She said she would get a manager to help me. A manager came and I explained my situation and he checked if the pants I wanted was in stock and it wasn't. So he ordered it online and it would be sent to me and processed my return. The pants went down in price so I even go a credit for the difference. I was happy to get my exchange done at the store and not have to deal with the steps required for an online return. It was not simple like a return on Amazon. Though the cashier did not understand the exchange I wanted to transact, I appreciated that the manager made the exchange transaction seamlessly.”
“I never need to directly go here myself, but my husband loves it so I go with him sometimes. He likes to get the rugs there. This time we were looking for some rugs, but we ended up with socks, knives, and incense instead. Spacious boutique shop with unique items from household to kids to beauty to kitchen products. Dog friendly. The cashiers greet you, but usually keep to themselves until you're ready to check out. Great local spot to go to support your local businesses whether you're buying gifts or things for yourself. Easy walk from Rockridge BART or there is paid street parking, and free residential parking. Or bike or bus! Luckily for me, I can walk down here.”

“I haven’t felt a warm vibe in every shop on Piedmont and vintage stores can be kind of snobby sometimes but I’m happy to say that that frigidaire environment has NOT been my experience at Sunshine Prophecy. The vibe is super warm and inviting; There is ALWAYS good music playing; The employees there are always very patient with any of my (often MANY haha) questions; — AND I’ve never felt pressure to buy anything if I wasn’t ready. — That is especially important to me bc in order to budget I purposely do LONG leads on items I’m interested in. I might stop in once or twice and ask questions/do price checks before I finally treat myself and they always treat me like a paid customer. Clothes, jewelry, purses are cute. LOVE their witchy candles, herbs, and TAROT CARDS. It seems like the owner of this store had more of a “creative calling ” then just a bottom line in starting this business.”
