The United States Postal Service at 380 Hamilton Ave is a historic and functional post office serving the local community. The building, designed during the Great Depression by local architect Birge Clark, features distinctive Mediterranean-style architecture with a Spanish-style curved shingle roof and soaring ceilings inside. It is a fully operational USPS location that delivers mail and packages to over 157 million addresses across the U.S., its territories, and military bases worldwide. USPS manages more than 30,000 retail locations and processes about 47 percent of the world’s mail, constantly working to improve customer experience. Customers appreciate the service for its efficiency, professionalism, patience, and respectfulness. Many reviews highlight that staff are helpful and reliable, providing solid mailing services despite occasional busy times. However, some customers have faced challenges, such as issues with P.O. Box access, delays in locating returned items like tablets, or extra footwork needed to resolve matters with customer service. Parking can be limited due to downtown location, with only short-term street parking available, which can be a hassle. The building's exterior shows signs of neglect, with overgrown grass and landscape, which detracts from the overall appearance and cityscape. Inside, the historic architecture adds charm, but customers note that peak hours can overwhelm staff, who often work under pressure and are treated poorly by some customers. Despite these issues, the staff remain respectful and dedicated, reflecting the enduring legacy of this historic postal facility. Overall, the location offers a mix of architectural beauty, reliable service, and ongoing challenges typical of busy urban post offices.
Kind of long lines and pretty slow service. I think it may be a staffing level issue, because the counter staff were working hard.

They always throw packages around after receiving them. I’m sure that causes tens of thousands dollars worth of damage every year!
