But last time I went in looking for something beautiful to store my cats food in. I bought this beautiful glass cookie jar and because I was unsure it would be large enough she gave me a week to bring it back just in case. It ended up working out but I really appreciated the above and beyond customer service.”

“Great stuff! But someone should tell these people a LOT has changed since 1910. There are so many styles that have emerged since then and it's good to have some variety in life. I love a solid wooden chair as much as the next guy, but sometimes you just want a lazyboy and a vibrating ottoman. I heard they are only open two days a week because they don't use cars and have to walk 35 miles to and from home. Talk about commitment!”

“Maple & Iron is a small antique shop that I visited on a Saturday afternoon. Walking inside feels like stepping into someone’s curated attic: dusty shelves, vintage clocks, local ephemera. I asked about a mid-century lamp and the proprietor told me its backstory and provenance. I bought a brass desk lamp for a fair price and it even came with a wiring check. The shop smells faintly of old wood and leather, which only adds to the character. It’s not flashy, but it’s perfect for treasure hunters”

After living in the area for years I finally started coming here over the past couple months and as someone who has been in love with antique shops for the majority of their life, this one is special. So few places now have that “antique” smell when you walk through the door, with genuine antique items sold here you can find that and there’s something to look at around every corner, you could easily spend several hours here. Things aren’t priced cheaply, it’s not a “bargain” store but I think the prices are fair for the items and regardless of your budget, if you look you’ll find something you both like and can afford. As a lover of antiques I love to come here to shop, as an artist I love to come here for the immersive inspiration. I highly recommend this place to anyone who likes antiques, art, and unusual finds.”

I reached out to Chris, The owner. He was able to liquidate my friends belongings in a timely manner, but most of all he treated all of her items with care and respect.
