“If I could give this place 10 stars, then I would! My car that I loved was stolen, thrashed and recovered. It was quite an emotional roller coaster for me. I spoke to Wendy the day my car was recovered and she showed so much compassion towards me over the phone. She took care of my well being first, which is so rare these days. I had a similar experience when I went over to Uptown to check my car. Everyone in the shop showed empathy and compassion. It really felt as if they were my family. Hayli understood my needs and she listened to my frustrations. I cannot say enough about the humanity in this place. I will always be grateful to Uptown for making this horrible experience of having my car stolen bearable.”

Adam did an amazing job throughout the entire process. He was helpful, professional, answered all of my questions, and made sure everything was taken care of properly. I really appreciated the communication and attention to detail.
The repairs came out amazing. The paint match and finish look great, everything lines up properly, and the car looks like nothing ever happened. They also thoroughly inspected the vehicle, found additional damage, and handled the supplemental repairs directly with GEICO, which made everything much easier for me.

“Finally got my tires swapped here and the whole thing took under an hour which was great. They were super busy but still found time to rotate them for no extra charge. Realy helpful staff and i didnt feel like they were trying to upsell me on anything I didnt need... Alot of tire shops feel sketchy but this one was straight forward.”
“After getting a flat tire the night before, I searched online for a nearby tire shop. Castro Valley Tire Pros immediately stood out because it had a 4.9-star rating from more than 2,000 reviews. I felt compelled to give the shop a try—and now I understand why it is so highly rated.
Francisco examined the tire and showed me the nail and crack that made it impossible to repair. When I told him I simply needed something durable, he did not try to upsell me. He inspected my other three tires, said they were still fairly new and in good condition, and assured me that I only needed to replace one. He even suggested checking with my previous tire shop to see whether the damaged tire was still under warranty. His honesty truly stood out to me.
The total was only $159.78, including the tire, computerized wheel balancing, disposal fee, labor, and sales tax. Francisco also noticed that I was missing a hubcap. He suggested buying an affordable set of four from the nearby O’Reilly Auto Parts and offered to install them for free.
No one at the shop asked me to write this review—I simply could not help myself! Honest service, fair pricing, and genuine kindness like this deserve to be recognized. I highly recommend Castro Valley Tire Pros. Thank you, Francisco and the entire team!”

“Jorge and the other folks at Alec & Angel's are exceptionally careful and thorough with tires and my car. On Thursday, June 25th, I visited Alex & Angel's Tires with an emergency repair due to my sidewall getting torn up on the parking ramp at UCSF Berkeley Outpatient Center. These ties are run flat Michelin tires that retail at $390 each - my Chevy Bolt EV has no spare tire - and I needed my car usable ASAP. Jorge go the job done in less than 15 minutes, because he had a used tire that matched my current set. I inspected it as a former mechanic - it was in very good condition with thread depth comparable to my set of tires. And the discount for used (vs new) was great!!
If I need tires again, even a new set of 4 tires for any car, a tire repair or a simple tire inspection and pressure check, I will head directly to Alex and Angel's, even if I half to drive some distance to get there.

“Nate is the real deal. Drove my Prime 8 years off the dealer lot with no maintenance other than oil and tires. So my ride was way over due preventative maintenance. I first came here with my 2007 Acura RDX a few months ago when it had trouble starting occasionally. I pulled in with no appointment on a Saturday and Brian was able to immediately diagnose the issue as a failing starter and got it fixed that day. I haven't heard the car start like it does now in years!
I recently started getting an intermittent check emissions system light while driving on cruise control. I'm relatively new to the area, and at this point hadn't found a shop for regular maintenance. I made the mistake of taking the car to a different shop in Berkeley that was supposed to specialize in Hondas and Acuras, and they pulled the error code, measured the boost pressure, and concluded that I needed a $14k turbo replacement. From browsing forums online and seeing similar problems in the same model of the same age, I asked about other potential causes (cheaper repairs like a faulty sensor/wastegate actuator/or leak somewhere) and whether they ruled those out. This other shop kept pointing to error code and told me that it wasn't necessary to rule out other reasons. At $14k, I was ready to give up on this car. I'm so glad I took it to Brian for a second opinion.
He did a thorough inspection and ruled out all of the external causes for the error code and low boost pressure and explained the findings to me plainly. He gave me a quote of $3k for installing a new turbo, which I was more than happy to pay for a car that I don't use frequently- much better than the hassle of trying to find a new car. He also fixed a few other issues that I brought up with my shocks + oil filter housing with a fair price for both. The car sounds and drives amazing now. Thank you so much, Brian!”

“AJ is my hero! My car battery completely died on me even while I was driving! Thankfully was only a few miles away and I called this place to see if I could get my car towed here. It was Saturday just after 6pm and he said they were closed but he could help.
He said tow truck would take too long, asked for my car year/make/model, and for where I was located. He drove right over, uninstalled my dead battery on side of the road, installed his temporary battery system and followed me as we drove to O’Reilly’s on Broadway.
Walked in the store and he already called in to make sure they had my battery. I paid for it and then he installed new battery in the parking lot in a few mins and we were done.
He went above and beyond working after hours and helping a customer out. He saved me hours of stress and headache if I had waited for a tow truck then brought it somewhere that was closed and wouldn’t have had it taken care of until likely Monday.
