Placerville Animal Wellness
384 Placerville Dr, PlacervilleOur French Bulldog lost the use of his back legs after a spine injury on Xmas day. We were told by another vet that he might need a $15,000–$20,000 surgery if he didn’t improve within 10 days.
We got a second opinion from Dr. Raymond at Placerville Animal Wellness. By then, our dog could barely stand up on his back legs. Dr. Raymond pinpointed the injury without costly X-rays, performed an adjustment with a tool, and started acupuncture the next day.
Within one week — after his second acupuncture session — our dog was walking on his own!! We were shocked and amazed!
Dr. Raymond truly cares about his patients. His knowledge and expertise are unmatched. His team is wonderful and we can’t recommend them enough! Conservative treatment gave our dog his mobility back and we are so happy he didn’t have surgery. Forever thankful to Dr. Raymond and everyone at Placerville Animal Wellness.

We are new to the area, and hadn’t found a new vet yet. Sierra animal Hospital was amazing! They took Walter right away and treated him fantastically! Both Stacey and Steve were so sweet and welcoming when my dog and I came for a meet and greet. They assured me my dog would be staying with them in their home and it really was like a home away from home for him. They sent great pictures and updates as well, he looked so comfortable and happy during his stay! They‘re also very reasonably priced, especially for such a good experience and taking good care of my boy!

5020 Coyote Hill Rd, PlacervilleMy dog, Maia, loves staying at PDH! And if she loves it, I do too! Both the owners are great people and really love taking care of dogs, and it shows! I wish I had found them a couple years ago, but in my life everything happens as it should.
Every picture I'm sent while Maia is there, I can tell Maia is happy and having a good time. And when I'm there to pick her up she's not dragging me to the car wanting to rush home, cuz she wasn't happy stayin in whatever curfuffle she dealt with....which has happened with other sitters or boardings I've tried. And for me, and my weird life, the fact that Alicia and Jeremy are flexible with keeping Maia more days than I planned for is huge for me! Maia chose them to take care of her, as long as the pool is full, the treats are a plenty and she's treated like family and is allowed on the furniture with the peoples... shes happy as a clam. And, I know better than to let a husky review anything, cuz they are highly vocal, and all, but for me with Maia its her body language when she's around people that speaks more to me ... and with both Jeremy and Alicia, she leans in to being petted and smiles. Says volumes to me about Maia's opinion of them, and to me, makes every dollar I spend for Maia to be with them is well worth it!!!!!!!

You are not required to bring a chair & crate which can be the norm for many training facilities. That type of convenience is appreciated. Whether you want to learn agility, obedience, scent detection, or just loose leash walking, there's a class and instructor waiting for you.

3755 Kincade Dr, PlacervilleI recommend Uncle Matty to anyone that needs the very best training for their dog! My 2 year old, 85 pound Lab mix was out of control!! He pulled and lunged while out on walks, barked uncontrollably on car rides, barked at dogs and strangers walking past the house! We heard about Uncle Matty from a friend that hired him to train her dog. Matty came to our house right away and did a personality test on our dog. He's really amazing at training and interacting with dogs. A true professional. I can now take my dog on car rides without him barking aggressively. We are able to walk him again without pulling. We are still doing lessons and I'm so thankful, I've learned so much from him. My dog is a better behaved dog because of Matty!

Happy Tails Pet Sitting
3045 Sacramento St #494, PlacervilleI've been searching for a professional pet sitter for over a year, and had a great first conversation with the owner Tamara. She does pet sitting herself, but also set me up with a pet sitter in another town when I'm in that area. I was impressed with her contracted sitter during our meet and greet. When a last minute need for sitting in Placerville arose, I contacted Tamara and she was able to accomodate my request. Upon arrival I noticed that the facility was very well organized, safe and set up for multiple dogs. I noted that she is extremely experienced with dogs and well versed in behavior. She is very personable and walked me around and explained how her boarding works and the different areas for the dogs. Tamara made me very comfortable leaving my pet while I ran errands for the day. The facility is set up very well for overnight boarding too. My dog had a great time at Happy Tails with Tamara's Great Dane and other guests. I would definitely return. I also had the opportunity to leave my dog with Cheryl in Folsom and had a very positive experience. I appreciate the fact that Happy Tails is licensed and insured. Highly recommended.

Addy was highly reactive to dogs and Addy required Cherie doing some out of the box techniques to help Addy accept a dog being in her vicinity. I learned how to work with Addy better to aid in her being able to walk in our neighborhood with dogs being across the street or turning the corner in front of us. So grateful!!!

My pup Darla loves this place and benefits from socialization with other dogs, her size and smaller. She gets so excited to see both of them that it makes me feel so at ease with leaving her. Eden is so dedicated, you can just see what a wonderful place this is for your fur baby. I highly recommend her, they do amazing with the dogs.

Timmy's is not easy to find, but well worth the effort, It is located in a small complex on Main Street in Placerville near the Court House. The menu is very eclectic. I had the spicy prawn sandwich with a side of tater tots. Both were made fresh and served in a timely manner. The sandwich was flavorful and not overly spicy. The staff was informative and helpful. The prices were a bit high but well worth it for the quality.
