Placerville Animal Wellness
384 Placerville Dr, PlacervilleOur French Bulldog lost the use of his back legs after a spine injury on Xmas day. We were told by another vet that he might need a $15,000–$20,000 surgery if he didn’t improve within 10 days.
We got a second opinion from Dr. Raymond at Placerville Animal Wellness. By then, our dog could barely stand up on his back legs. Dr. Raymond pinpointed the injury without costly X-rays, performed an adjustment with a tool, and started acupuncture the next day.
Within one week — after his second acupuncture session — our dog was walking on his own!! We were shocked and amazed!
Dr. Raymond truly cares about his patients. His knowledge and expertise are unmatched. His team is wonderful and we can’t recommend them enough! Conservative treatment gave our dog his mobility back and we are so happy he didn’t have surgery. Forever thankful to Dr. Raymond and everyone at Placerville Animal Wellness.

We are new to the area, and hadn’t found a new vet yet. Sierra animal Hospital was amazing! They took Walter right away and treated him fantastically! Our giant lab, Moose loves that he has space to run around and explore and is excited each time we have brought him. Jeremy provides great care for our fur baby, and is great to work with. We've been boarding our dogs at PetSmart for years, and they've been happy there. But the Placerville Dog House set-up is so much more open and allows our boy to play and explore, both inside and out. Would highly recommend to anyone needing a safe, peaceful place to board your dogs!!

Happy Tails Pet Sitting

I didn’t request service until just over a week before our trip and they were able to accommodate. You are given the pricing up front. The price we paid was quite reasonable, especially considering it’s a licensed, insured, and bonded business with employees, vs random independent contractors.
2 different gals came to our house to care for our cats while we were gone - Amy and Payton. Both were prompt and took good care of our cats. Amy was exceptionally kind and stayed longer than she was booked for - just to play with our cats! We really appreciated this, since it was our first night away and I know our cats were feeling anxious.
It was such a relief to have a business available to us to come to our house to take care of our animals! While I’m sure there are tons of great pet sitters on the various 3rd party pet sitting sites , we would’ve been too nervous. Being able to hire a business to send people to our house was a big relief!
We will absolutely be using them again in the future

Uncle Mattys Dog Training
10112 Sonoma Creek Drive, Elk Grove4 months ago we hired Uncle Matty to help us with our 2 puppies. We had an 8 month old Bernadoodle and a 6 month old German Shepard/Lab mix. Both extremely high energy and and my Bernadoodle high anxiety. Although I have never paid for training for any of our other dogs, I decided to do so after realizing that having 2 high energy puppies at the same time was too much for us to handle. Our Bernadoodle named Ambrosius, would not listen and run way, she hated my husband, chewed stuff up and the worst of it all ate poop!! Our Shepard/lab mix named Kenai, was good at sticking around, but he aggressively jumped. He jumps so high and fast that he split my daughters chin open, and he would pull her down while trying walk him. We opted for the leash training for both of our dogs. Uncle Matty came in and immediately started getting our dogs under control. It was like magic. He then trained us on how to control our dogs while on a leash. We have had tremendous success. We take our dogs camping and to sleep overs at family members houses. We would have never been able to do that before. Ambrosius is still anxious and stubborn, but she responds perfectly on the leash. Kenai listens wells and walks calmly on a leash. Uncle Matty also advised us on how to stop the poop eating, the jumping, and on the relationship with my husband. All three which we have improved greatly on. He has worked wonders!! I highly recommend him for all of your dog training needs.

Our Furry Friends Training
25 Fair Ln, PlacervilleWe recently did a board and train session for our 1 1/2 year old VERY energetic and VERY untrained golden retriever that was causing complete chaos in our home and with our other pets. We weren’t too sure what to expect, but after doing an initial intake and a private lesson with Cherie we felt confident that this was going to be the best way into giving us a jump start into getting things back on track - and we were right!
Although we missed our pup immensely for the two weeks she was gone, she came back home with impulse control like we couldn’t believe, a new respect for authority, the ability to follow basic commands, and an eagerness to keep practicing and learning more. She is more confident, more relaxed, and overall a much happier dog since coming back home. She has always been a sweet girl but the way we were “training” her prior to Cherie’s help was only making issues worse, and with some training for our dog (and us!) we are all on a much better path. We are so very thankful for all the help during the board and train and the follow up lessons that came with our package have really helped us all stick to things she was taught. She got to be treated like family at Cherie’s house and mingle with her dogs and even got to go participate in lessons at the training center - plus that meant she was working on her traveling skills, too!
Thank you, Cherie, for bringing out the best in our girl and restoring peace to our home. We are thrilled with how much she was able to accomplish in such a short amount of time with you.

My pup Darla loves this place and benefits from socialization with other dogs, her size and smaller. She gets so excited to see both of them that it makes me feel so at ease with leaving her. Eden is so dedicated, you can just see what a wonderful place this is for your fur baby. I highly recommend her, they do amazing with the dogs.

I luv donuts, ever since my dad introduced me to them at possibly too early age. Over the years, I’ve had my fair share of donuts. Sunshine donuts are just darn delicious. I prefer raised potatoes ver cake, but won’t turn one down. The raised donuts are airy, fluffy with the right amount of chew. The cake donuts are just as delicious but with a cake dense ness fluffiness. And I can’t stop saying enough about the smooth professional glazing. No glaze cracks or bubbling.
Don’t let the modest exterior fool you. Stop on by… not only do they have the best donuts around, they have breakfast sandwiches, other baked goods, coffee drinks and a cold case stocked with every non alcoholic drink you can think of. Milks, juices, energy drinks, sodas… etc.

We ate in the patio section, which was done beautifully. The staff were so polite and hardworking, and owner and chef John Sanders took a moment of his busy night talking to us about panning. I'm grateful for the awesome experience and highly recommend the establishment!

On our latest visit 2 weeks ago, we brought my mom (pic)from Colorado, and she absolutely loved it—which says a lot because she’s a hard sell! It’s more than a winery and brewery—it’s a place to slow down and enjoy life. The beautiful grounds, vineyard views, shady picnic areas, and welcoming atmosphere make it one of our favorite places to relax and share a bottle of wine. Josh and Carrie have created something truly special, and whether we’re visiting from Colorado or enjoying a bottle at home, (or camping) Holly’s Hill always brings us joy. The wine club lets us enjoy that experience all year we couldn’t recommend it more! (Pictures are from several visits!)

Timmy's is not easy to find, but well worth the effort, It is located in a small complex on Main Street in Placerville near the Court House. The menu is very eclectic. I had the spicy prawn sandwich with a side of tater tots. Both were made fresh and served in a timely manner. The sandwich was flavorful and not overly spicy. The staff was informative and helpful. The prices were a bit high but well worth it for the quality.
