“I had a flat tire after exiting the freeway close to Mountain View (stupid potholes!) around 2AM last night. I was terrified because I was already tired after a long day and it was terribly cold outsideI called "University Towing and Road Service" and of all the places I called, they were the most reassuring and charged the most reasonable rate! "Rick" (but based on the other reviews, I think his name might be Enrique :D) went above and beyond to assuage my anxiety and fear and changed the flat tire to my spare wheel and got the spare tire to the required pressure!He also regaled me with useful stories to help me better prepare for such situations in the future! 5 star and can't recommend him highly enough!”
“I cannot say enough good things about this shop. My beloved 240D got a massive dent in the hood from a falling pinecone -- as the car is an all original time capsule, I was incredibly nervous getting work done. However I need not have worried at all -- not only was the work incredibly high quality, but the care these guys took of my car was next level (e.g., always parking it indoors, taking care of all the tiny road rash etc). For as long as I live in the Bay Area, this is where I'm going for any auto work ever.Thanks for rescuing my car guys!”

“I have used Maldonado's twice now. Both times everything went great. First time my 4Runner had been sideswiped by a deer. This was not covered under my insurance as it was a 1996. They would have totaled it. So, I was able to negotiate a great price that I could afford. They did the work perfectly and within a week. Then more recently, my girlfriend's Volvo was hit while making a left turn from a center lane of Middlefield. Turns out, all left turns from uncontrolled intersetions are considered your fault. Whatever happened to safe driving laws? She was hit in bright daylight. Still, AAA said she was 100% at fault. Go figure. She had to pay for the repair herself. So, we went to Maldonado's again. Again everything went great. We negotiated a price she could afford and they got the job done in one week. The job was done perfectly. We didn't pay until the job was done. Same was the situation on my 4Runner. I think these guys are just great and would refer them to anyone. I am not sure what is up with Sheri S. People working on cars get dirty and grimey. That is a result of that life. I restored a vintage 1957 MGA in the 1970s and I was grimey after each day of work on it. Maybe if you were to bring in brand new cars for them to work on they would not get dirty. They know a lot about this work. About trust? Try getting your car back from the Dodge Center with all of the front end linkage bolts untightened. I had no control over the stearing. That was what you would call a PROFESSIONAL dealer too. Of course, they were having management/union problems at the time. The head of the shop said, 'Yeah, OK. I didn't tighten the linkage bolts down. What are you going to do about it?" Before i even hung up the phone I had already receive a text message saying that Action towing had received my call and were on their way. It didn't take but a couple of minutes before Keith from Action Towing showed up to save the day! Keith was very professional and courteous and had my car on the truck in minutes. “Was ready to leave for Tahoe and our fairly new Sequioa wouldn’t start and made a weird rattling noice when we attempted to start it. AAA estimate to get it towed to the dealership in 120 minutes. We looked around, to find another towing company, as we wanted to get it to the dealership before they closed on a Sunday. No one was able to commit to coming sooner than 2 hrs. When I talked to Bill’s Towing the operator was very nice, explained to her the situation, and she quoted 30 - 45 min. I could’t believe it, and in fact Mel, their driver, showed up with a flatbed truck in 19 min. In addition, when he heard the weird noise he said right away, “that is the battery”. He got it jump started and it started right away. He explained a few things to us, was very knowledgeable and calmed me down not to worry and just take it to the dealership for a battery replacement. Turns out, it was in fact just the battery.I don’t know why this place is getting some of the the very low reviews, but I noticed while talking to the operator that they deal with law enforcement tows as well, and I know that brings with it some already very irritated people.We give them 5 stars, couldn’t be more pleased with their service and we will check out their car repair shop they have for our older vehicles.Services: Car towing”

“I needed a trailer in the bay area and Portola Valley Hardware was the only one that had it. I called ahead to make sure they did indeed have the trailer, and was assured by Gary that they did.
