This was, I thought, a simple LOF and rear brake pad replacement. Come to find out, someone prior to my ownership of the car, installed the wrong rear rotors causing the shoe, pad and holders to slip out of place. This caused friction and smoke upon braking. The reason I know this, is because John explained the situation very clearly and I still got the car in about 24hrs, even with special ordering the new rotors.
