“I needed a special bolt thing for my vintage Corvette so I could attach a custom front plate and needed it quick (rather than purchasing online). This was my first time at Ace Hardware as I usually (and begrudgingly) shop at Lowe's, but was advised by a friend that I'd have better luck here. I appreciated the smaller, cozier feel and was even able to find the aisle with bolts myself - but one entire side of the aisle was drawers and drawers of a gazillion bolts and screws. I was able to find a staff member to help me pretty quickly, and he set about looking for a match. It took him about 10 minutes but he did find a match, and then apologized for taking so long. I was overjoyed and said you're amazing! No way would I have found that little piece of metal by myself. I paid my 3 bucks and went on my way. I will definitely turn to Ace Hardware first for all my weird little hardware needs!”

“I have purchased many tools from harbor freight, the only tool i wouldn't recommend is all of the battery powered tools, just spend the extra and get Makita Brand, the rest of the tools are pretty good, I wouldn't waste my money on the extended warranty, if it last 30 days you're good to go. The staff which are few and far in-between are very friendly and helpful when you can get one to help you, they also help me with the heavy items which is great, overall The cathedral City store is clean, well organized with a friendly helpful staff, when you can get one to help you.”

“I preordered a new refrigerator. They called me the day before and told me my appointment was between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm. They arrived about noon. One gentleman came in the house and unhooked the water supply from the old refrigerator. He went back out and assisted the other man in unloading and unpacking the new refrigerator. They moved it to the front door via hand truck. They then went in and with straps, carried the old refrigerator out of the house and took to truck. Then, using the straps, they picked up new refrigerator and carried it into the kitchen. They hooked up the water supply and plugged in refrigerator. They then installed the handles and gave me all the instructions to use my refrigerator properly. Then they finished loading the old refrigerator and left. Most painless delivery I have ever received. The delivery personal were perfect gentleman. Good Job, Lowe's!”
“Yoshi is a true gentleman. I brought my Stihl RMI 422 P robotic mower all the way from Phoenix today for him to run diagnostics and a software update and he was nothing but professional. Unfortunately, the unit is beyond economic repair so it was a lot of driving for a disappointing end. Yoshi would not let me pay him for his time and was very empathetic, something other mower shops could really learn from.”
“Shoutout to Darin, the Professional Color Advisor at the Palm Springs store, for recommending Deco Prime and Deco Glo products to renovate our kitchen cabinets. He gave us a rich and soothing color palette that complements a unique Midcentury appliance. We can’t say enough about the superior quality of this paint and how easy it was to achieve a perfectly smooth, even finish with rollers. We’ll only be using Dunn-Edwards paints for all our future projects!”
“Lowe’s used to be better but Home Depot has far superior customer service staff and cashiers. At night don’t expect much help from department staff. But if you want advice you know to stop during day or better go to Ace - The Helpful Hardware Folks. But Home Depot is a decent alternative.”

“I had never had the opportunity, until recently, to pick out paint for a house I lived in. Now we own a home together. I went to Lowe's determined to make a decision on paint and color for our bedroom. I went in and after 15 minutes and my kiddo losing focus, I almost gave up again. Something told me to grab the few blues and grays and go to the counter, so I did. I looked at the employee and said, "This maybe is crazy of me, but could you please pick a blue and gray for my room, I'm terrible at making final decisions. He more than happily picked the colors and even carried on a nice conversation with me. I was very appreciative of him that day. Great job hiring him, Lowe's. That's a step in the right direction compared to some employees who have zero empathy, not to mention knowledge of your stores subject matter. “Decent Home Depot in Rancho Mirage. Easy to get in and out of the parking lot, unlike the store in La Quinta. They did not have what I needed in stock, but I was able to order it online and it will be shipped free to the store for pickup. What I wanted was a little niche so not a big deal.”
