“Love this place. Lots of gently used books of all kinds. Very organized with enough room to browse. After you are done shopping there head over to Caffe Positano for some coffee and a croissant!”

“Best of all the remaining bookstores on the west coast that I found. You can go and get everything from games to books to drinks and some food. Plenty of staff on hand to help you out. Great place to go.”

“Visiting Helen is always such a treat! Her store is amazing, packed with so many fantastic books, but even more so is Helen and the staff. She knows her inventory, she can make great recommendations, and she is an absolute riot. And if you visit, be sure to look out for her adorable dog, Lulu Bell. If you enjoy a bookstore browsing experience, don’t miss Helens!”

“Super close to home, always come here after a trip to the meditation gardens, their $2 incense(15 sticks in the box + it is hand made in India!) is totally worth it. Get the frankincense + sandalwood scents. I use them when I meditate/ rituals. They make great sandalwood prayer beads as well. Although I got them for like 40 bucks since the price of sandalwood has increased over time. AND they have free vintage SRF magazines from the 70s- early 2000s in a basket by the exit!”

“It’s huge and definitely busy, but not overwhelmingly crowded, which makes for a really pleasant experience. I stopped by the café inside and ordered a latte along with the lemon loaf, which was labeled as the barista’s favorite and it did not disappoint. Both were delicious.

They also offer a variety of drinks and sandwiches, giving you plenty of options. The staff was very friendly, which added to the overall positive vibe. It’s an easy place to spend an hour or more just walking around, and it can also be a great spot to study or get some work done, though it may get busier at times. I’d highly recommend checking this place out.”

“Kiddo is into Manga... as us OGs know this can be a minefield. Staff was SUPER SUPER helpful in steering away from the more explicit content variety.... B&N actually wraps the individual book so that kiddos can't thumb thru it.

Store is clean... a bit small from what I'm used to... selection is still good... has all the same areas just fewer options (but still good). Plenty of parking if you're ok with walking.”

“Ocean views at the Encinitas library make this one of the coolest libraries in San Diego! Friends of the Encinitas library run the bookstore and organized and event for local authors inviting the community with to read what their author next door has been up to! Check out the Karma Cats written by Kathleen Kastner. One of the best children's books I've seen!”

“This is one of my favorite gifts, crystals, jewelry and books/tarot stores in all of SoCal - I will stop whenever I am heading from OC to San Diego or anywhere near Encinitas. The prices are very reasonable and the service is awesome.”

“I haven’t been physically yet, but I have ordered a signed book and have corresponded with Greg who was so amazing in helping with an inscription request! He replied to the email the morning I had sent it, and I really appreciated the quick response. My husband and I are in NV so Artifact will be one of the first stops we make on our next trip to Cali! We can’t wait to visit in person!”

“Just went in here once so far but I was very impressed by the curation of the children's book area as a mom. I will definitely be back with open wallets and hoping I don't go too broke buying all the goodies. Beautiful shop!”

“As the author of the Grant Colson Thriller Series and SERA Archives Thriller Series, I always enjoy visiting bookstores while traveling, and Barnes & Noble is a standout location.

The outdoor architecture is very attractive and inviting, and the interior carries that same thoughtful design. Inside, the store is well laid out with a classic bookstore feel, making it easy to browse and spend time exploring.

One feature I really liked is the use of horseshoe-style shelf arrangements, which create smaller, cozy “mini library” sections throughout the store. It breaks up the space nicely and makes browsing more engaging.

There’s also a large children’s section in the back, which is well done and adds a fun, family-friendly element to the store.

The staff has always been friendly and helpful, which rounds out the experience.

Overall it’s a beautifully designed Barnes & Noble with a great layout and a welcoming atmosphere.”

“As a thriller and romance author, I always enjoy finding small independent bookstores, and Camino Books is a great little discovery in Del Mar Plaza.

The shop has a cozy, welcoming feel that makes it fun to browse. It’s not a huge store, but the selection is eclectic and thoughtfully chosen, which makes it easy to find something a little different than the usual bookstore fare.

The staff has always been friendly and helpful whenever I’ve stopped in. On one visit I picked up a humorous sayings book that ended up being the perfect gift for a friend, which is exactly the kind of surprise you hope to find in a small independent bookstore.

It’s great to see a place like this still thriving. Camino Books adds character to Del Mar Plaza and is a fun stop whenever I’m in the area.”

“This place is AMAZING !! Full of resources and prayerful guidance
They really selflessly follow their 6th tenet about expressing Christ Jesus , and have helped me SO much to learn more about how to do that in my life
Not to be missed -”

“I am taking EMGM 105 and 106 and the bookstore staff was very helpful in helping me find everything I needed for class. The bookstore is a little hard to find, there aren't really any signs. At least that I could find. Its kinda in the middle, back. Its building K1. If you see the child development building in front of you, before you get to the building go around the building on your left and its the next big building.”

“Came by to my old stomping grounds only to find that the dining hall had been converted to the university bookstore!

Parking was easy.

Getting to the store was convenient and the two women that helped me were very friendly and welcoming.

Got what I needed and made my way out.

I wouldn't hesitate to drop in here again for all things CSUSM.”

“I went in looking for textbooks and 2 staff members made sure I left the store knowing exactly how to access them. They waited beside me while I checked my requirements online and walked me through options along with their pros and cons. I wasn't expecting such excellent customer service. Keep it up!”

“We stopped by the bookstore to pick up some UCSD apparel. Even though a small area was under renovation, they had plenty of options and we all found something we liked. The lady at the register was incredibly sweet and friendly. When she found out we were attending the graduation ceremony, she thoughtfully gave us a clear bag since that is all that's allowed on the field. Great little bookstore!”

“Always pay it forward.

This is a small location that consists of mostly books but once in a while you'll find a surprise.

This time around, I found a classic WWE Action Figure for my son to enjoy. New in box and priced just right. Online the same item is selling for $49!

I also found a new San Diego Clippers Towel which retails for $39!

All I spent was $5! I'm not a reseller but it does feel tempting.

I'll be back again when I'm in the area for some treasure hunting.

Be back soon.”
