“I went into this place bummed they didn’t have a pool and how small and narrow the hallways were, but I left surprised and satisfied. First, the parking was awesome. They didn’t charge or require a card, and there were always enough spots. The front desk person was very kind. The floor I stayed on had a nice breakfast every day, and it was always well stocked and peaceful with a TV with the news and enough seating. The servers were very kind. The room was very nice with enough space between two beds and a nice TV, fridge, desk, and chair. The bathroom was very upscale too with great water pressure and temperatures. At the end of the day, this was as nice as an express can be and worth a stay and centrally located to my conference and other dining places and stores and freeways. Thanks Holiday Inn Express.”
“I booked this hotel on a whim when I found out I needed accommodations close to Stanford University and did not have much time to think. Turned out very well for my travel needs!
First off, their staff is great. I had booked two rooms for our group and called several times to verify some things (request for our two rooms to be on same floor and request to combine separate reservations for same room when we had to add an additional day and asking about holding luggage). Their staff helped address and resolve my questions and took care of my requests, so I am very thankful they were so helpful and friendly before and during my stay.
Lots and lots of pluses for staying here. For one, free daily hot breakfast with a menu that has slightly different hot offerings each day. The rooms are large and pretty clean. They provided a welcome gift of a bottle of water and a granola bar, which came in clutch for the day when I needed the refreshments. They have a parking lot with free parking if you drive here. If not, the location is close to a bus stop. Food-wise, a Jack in the Box is next door for late night eats and the supermarket across the street has a taqueria so you are set for groceries and more food options.
Only slight downsides are 1) our room door requires us to be more proactive in making sure it's closed; it stayed ajar and open if we just left the door go; and 2) the lobby is not directly connected to the rooms, so you have to walk out of the lobby door to get to the rooms and the stairs to the second floor is uncovered (not too bad on a sunny day, but can be a meh experience if raining).
If I am back in the Stanford University or Redwood City area, this Best Western Plus Executive Suites location would be my choice of stay.”

“Amazing staff and clean rooms!
Maria at the front desk was incredibly friendly and helpful . The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the water pressure was surprisingly great . A fantastic budget option!”
“Don’t be fooled by the older property this is a nice motel in an era of most being turned into section 8 housing.
Close proximity to Caltrain.”

“We have a new go-to spot when driving through San Fran! We were able to get a room at a great rate, last minute. This awesome spot was just remodeled and looks great. Everything was clean and tidy. Perfect for a quick trip. Management was quick to respond and very kind and professional - even with our awkward traveling schedule. We will absolutely be back for future trips.”

“Grand Bay San Francisco is the best hidden gem hotel in California — peaceful, beautiful, surprisingly affordable, and truly special.
For the Bay Area, it is almost unbelievable to find a hotel this nice at such a reasonable price. The property is gorgeous and serene, the rooms are comfortable, food is always delicious, and the whole setting feels like a quiet little escape. Walking around the lagoon is one of our family’s favorite traditions, and every stay feels relaxing, meaningful, and memorable.
What really sets Grand Bay apart, though, is the people. Everyone who works here goes above and beyond. The service is warm, thoughtful, and genuinely personal . Kristin is beyond wonderful and has such a gift for making special moments feel even more special. She is kind, attentive, and truly exceptional — always going the extra mile (or ten).
The hotel has also become even more perfect under Paul Wilson’s leadership. You can feel the care and pride in the way the property is run. It still has the familiar warmth that made us fall in love with it years ago, but it feels even more polished and cared for now.
Our family has stayed at many incredible hotels, but Grand Bay is still our happy place and by far our favorite hotel in the Bay Area. It is elegant, peaceful, welcoming, and such an incredible value. I cannot recommend it highly enough.”
“Viren is great. Very considerate and downright cool. Gave me an extra blanket when it got cold. Place was very clean and a great deal! Fast Internet, hot shower, comfortable bed.”

“Its a pretty low budget motel it has good amenities a refrigerator and a microwave and a clean bathroom but the decor is dated and the TV is from 1990 but if you just need a cheap place to lay yoir head for a night or two the bed is huge and comfortable to my taste I would recommend if you had no other option in price range
Walkability: You are right on El Camino Real in redwood city
Food & drinks: There are a few restaurants in walking distance”
“This place was not as bad as some of the previous reviews I read. It was clean, recently remodeled, and staff was really friendly. They have a free breakfast from 6-9am. Bed was comfy and TV was big! They have a fenced in dog run and pool. Even the pool was clean!
I’d say the only thing this place could improve was water pressure and WiFi. WiFi worked but would kick me every 2 hours. I would 100% stay again!”
“Sequoia Inn is a great hotel to stay at for all travelers. I stay here frequently in between work trips and management has always treated me kindly with professionalism. Sejal, part owner of the hotel always greets me with kindness. My room is always clean and hotel staff are respectful in regards to my privacy as well as courteous to my needs. The hotel is in a great convenient location with many shops that are walkable. I would recommend all to stay at this hotel as it is safe, affordable and convenient. Looking forward to my next stay ☺”
“I had a great one-night stay at Redwood Creek Inn. The staff was polite and accommodating, and the price was unbeatable. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. With Whole Foods just across the street, the location is perfect in the heart of Silicon Valley. While it’s nothing fancy or luxurious, you definitely get the best value for your money.”
