“I brought my old truck to California Transmissions in Rocklin because it had an oil leak that had developed under the transmission. Right off the bat I was shocked when they wrote up a diagnostic work order totaling $0.00. They put my truck on their rack but were initially unable to pinpoint the source of the leak because there was so much oil under there. So they cleaned the whole area, then told me to drive the truck over the weekend and to bring it back on Monday, which I did.On Monday, they put it back up on the rack and discovered an area on the driver's side of the engine block that was wet with oil, but nowhere else. It wasn't a transmission leak after all. It was an engine oil leak that was running back onto the transmission and leaking to the ground from there. I will likely be able to fix that myself.After all that, they charged me NOTHING.There are plenty of shops out there that would have told me that I had a catastrophic transmission problem and needed a complete rebuild. You know who you are. But California Transmissions in Rocklin is not one of them. They are my go-to transmission shop from now on, and I will recommend them to my family and friends as well.Honest mechanics sometimes seem as scarce as hen's teeth.
