“Matt and Jen were simply great. They went way above and beyond to set us up with two e-bikes similar to (but better than) the ones we use at home. We were visiting from the east coast, and had no way to get the bikes to the place where we stayed for a week. So they delivered them to us, complete with helmets, mirrors, locks and back-rack bags. At the week's end, they picked them up, too. We're not young, or even middle-aged now, but we put about 75 miles on them during our visit.

The rides we took would not have been possible for us on non-assisted bikes, but we're not interested in throttle-equipped bikes. Being able to choose how much effort you want to exert will keep you strong. When help is finally needed, adding just the right amount of assist can keep you riding long and far. Matt and Jen can make that happen, and we hope to be back for more. Thank you!!”

“Absolutely incredible customer service. Great array of products and incredibly helpful and caring team they make sure I walk out of the shop with a bike that I love and fostered a sense of awareness and safety while on the road. They also explained everything related to maintenance and service and accessories with so much care and patience and kindness! These days such level of service is rare to find and I am happy I end up in this shop, I cannot recommend enough. Best experience ever! Thank you all dearly!”

“Great people! I usually do my own bike maintenance but when I got a flat on my ebike I couldn't do it on the road with my simple tools. They fixed two flats for me on two separate occasions when I limped in on a moments notice and did it at a super reasonable price. Got me back on the road with a smile on my face both times! Please give this family owned shop your business as I want them to be around always :)”

“Friendly knowledgeable staff! Love my new Trek bike that I can ride legally on the board walk (my other bike is an e-bike☹) Thank you Kenn for being so helpful.”

“brought my BMX bike into Bernie’s Bike Shop honestly not really knowing what was wrong with it, it just wasn’t riding right anymore. Yasuko was an absolute angel and took care of everything. In just one day they had it fully tuned up with new bearings, fresh grease, and gave the whole bike a thorough once-over to make sure it was safe and solid.

It rides smoother than ever now. You can tell they genuinely care about the bikes and the people bringing them in. Couldn’t ask for friendlier or more trustworthy people to service your bike in OB.”

“They are amazing! They fixed my brake pads and router in like 2 hours. They were very knowledgeable. Way better than any other bike shop. I have. Rev 1 Fs. Great guys definitely go here”

“Great place. Took my new Aventon ebike to 4 different bike shops before this place for a simple wheel adjustment and they all either wanted to keep my bike for a week or just wouldn't touch it. I was about to give up and do it myself but stopped by SDWW and they trued the wheel while I waited in no time at all. Friendly, chill, professional. I'm stoked. Will be back!”

“Omar was literally a life saver!! The amount of manufacturing defects on my bike was disgusting. Without his attention to detail and thorough service I possibly could have had a fatal outcome. He literally went above and beyond and deserves a million stars!!! My next ebike purchase will be in shop here! Honestly I can't thank him enough! The only shop I'll ever come to!!!”

“Swung by to get some advice about a old Trek bike I was fixing up. Asked Bob and he was more than happy to ask questions and let me know suggestions on what to repair. The store itself has a multitude of parts, bikes, and accessories to check out, including many vintage pieces. Would swing by again for any bike-related inquiries!”

“Omar is a master technician tuning up bicycles. Just as you have a tailor custom fit a suit off the rack before you wear it, Omar will make your factory delivered bike feel as if it were custom fitted to your specs. Omar listened to the gripes about my bike and made precision adjustments that really made a huge difference. Because service is so great they do get busy, so I recommend calling to check in before bringing your bike. They also rent bikes and get busy during the holidays, so it's best to plan ahead to avoid those busy times.”

“I went to multiple bike stores on Adam's looking for a bike. It was only Cal Coast that greeted me upon entering, and asked me if I was looking specifically for a bike. "Yes, I am".

The worker (can't remember the name) was friendly, attentive and walked me through every step of the process. The bike was perfect for my skill level at the time, and continues to hold up, after I took it through whats now hundreds of miles. It's actually due for a tune up I'm sure.

Not sure how their other services are, but if you are specifically looking to purchase a bike and not sure what you need exactly, I think this is the place.
I would rather go here than the busy, corporate, Trek store etc that tries to upsell you.”

“Really impressed with the useful, knowledgeable service here. Recently needed a left crank arm, and the guy helped me get the exact fit at a reasonable price, had everything on hand. So many bike shops in SD, but I’d come back here.”

“Very quick and professional. They open two hours before the Trek store. No nonsense. They sold and installed two new tires and tubes. Took just a few minutes. The guy also cleaned and oiled my chain for me. Will definitely come back for future maintenance.”

“Great bikes, wonderful support when selecting their bikes, yet marred by inconsistent and unresponsive after sales product support.

We recently purchased two Roadster v3 bikes with assurances the battery systems were fully compliant to NYC rules. When our apartment superintendent asked to inspect our batteries, we found one battery had a full set of seals and certification labels--OK, the other, just a barcode and manufacturer's part number--NOT OK.

The superintendent would have been satisfied if Ride1UP could have either supplied a certification by email or sent some stickers.

Not as easy as you would think. This simple request continues to be 'escalated' to higher levels without any answer. The long delays causes our superintendent to suspect that the battery is unauthorized and that we cannot use bike storage at our building.”
