“Long time patron, first time reviewer. I’ve been frequenting CF Humanity since 2020 but have joining the Hyrox classes on the weekends for the last ~year+. The workouts are consistently well programmed and accommodate all fitness levels. It’s a welcoming environment with a great group of knowledgeable coaches and encouraging athletes. I highly recommend if you want to checkout Hyrox for the first time and/or challenge yourself to be a better -athlete/competitor.”

“Crossfit ATR is a fantastic gym and has a great community. I have been training here for few months and I received nothing but positive vibes from staff and other members. The coaches are very friendly and knowledgeable and can assist members suffering from injuries throughout classes. In addition to 24 hour access, the gym is also very spacious and has a lot of equipment for all types of training and fitness levels.”

“Ditched my old gym because I recently moved to the hood and was looking for a new strength training gym that is close. Lucky me that I don’t have to look further! Liv Fit is a community driven gym that also has group training classes for women called Babes Bootcamp! The atmosphere was warm and inviting. Coach Kayla is a great instructor and keeps the tempo of the class going! Class size is relatively small in the evening. The gym is clean and plays throwback hip hop. Erryone in the this club isn’t getting tipsy; they’re moving to get healthy. lol. Looking forward to the challenge come June.”

“Excellent personal training! I googled Hillcrest Personal Training and Jordan was the ONLY person to answer the phone. He’s insanely motivating and such a professional. I’ve become so much stronger in the few short months we’ve been working together. I recommend seeing him a couple times per week because of the motivation alone.”

“This gym is a dream come true. Clean, safe, and tons of machines. I love how private it is. No one can just walk in. They are 24/7. The fact that no filming/tech necking is allowed is the cherry on top. They have everything you could need for full body workouts. As a powerlifter I am able to find everything I need. My favorite equipment is the sleds and jumbo tires on the turf. The atlas stones are awesome. Everyone minds their own business yet more than happy to help/spot you if needed. No distractions, just good old fashioned hard work. I appreciate how friendly the staff are and how quickly they respond to emails. Say hello to Henry if you get the chance (gym dog)”

“Anna, Anna, Anna, WOW! Do yourself a favor and up your workout in the best possible way! I have been taking barre for a minute and this 60 min signature was fire! I loved her energy and overall personality to push you past where you have gone before. Next level. Grateful.”

“I had an awesome experience at The Arena in San Diego. From the moment I walked in, everyone made me feel welcome.
Ken at the front desk was incredibly friendly, helpful, and made the check-in process easy. He answered all my questions and made a great first impression.
Coach Joe was knowledgeable, patient, and created a fun, motivating training environment. You can tell he genuinely cares about helping people improve, no matter their experience level.
The general manager, Mike, was also great.
Overall, the staff was professional, welcoming, and passionate about what they do. If you’re looking for a great place to train in San Diego, I highly recommend The Arena. I’ll definitely be back!”

“Writing this review after a year as a member. Unfortunately that ends this month, but I have nothing but positive things to say about this gym. This is the best gym in south San Diego. If you want a true ‘private gym’ without the crowds, this is for you. Whether you’re interested in bodybuilding or CrossFit, they have everything you need. The owners are very passionate about fitness and are continuously investing into this gym. Anyone would appreciate the quality of the equipment just as much as I do. Looking forward to becoming a member again in the future.”

“Dropped in while on vacation. Stopped in the day before to chat and everyone I met was very welcoming. I spoke with a few coaches and members the first day who gave some great reccomendations for our visit and helped us enjoy the trip to its fullest. When I dropped in, Brady was there to show me around. He was very helpful and seemed to really enjoy what he was doing. The equipment was all you could want and more. I didn't have enough time or energy to even experience 1/3 of the gym. But it is fully equipped and had everything from mobility stations, recovery station, a bodybuilding specific section, and all the crossfit or hyrox equipment available. I would love to drop in again next time I'm in town.”

“Having never been to a circuit class before I felt really nervous coming to my first total body workout class here. But Bryan did a great job to make me feel really welcomed and comfortable taking this first class. Now, I love starting my Saturdays with a total body class, it challenges me each week in different ways and I love that!”

“Crossfit ATR has been absolutely phenomenal! When I moved to San Diego and reached out for a free trial class I immediately got a text from the owner, Adam, with a friendly welcome and details. Not an auto-generated message but a genuine person. Also, before my first class I spoke, on the phone with one of the coaches... again not with a chatbot or an automated message but a real person to ask some questions about membership. This was huge for me and I think where crossfit ATR really stands out is their personal touch, attention, and dedication to members. I moved from an area where I struggled to find a gym because there was a lot of red tape around classes and memberships (e.g., class limits, cancelation windows, no-show/late cancelation fees) which really made everything stressful and for the price of crossfit memberships it was frusturating. I had a lot of questions and concerns about this before buying a membership when I moved to SD and the staff really took the time to answer my questions; didn't direct me to a FAQs page or make me feel like it was an inconvenience. Crossfit ATR has lots of other great qualities, welcoming community, knowledgeable and friendly coaches, member events, plenty of space and parking, but the personal communication was really what I appreciated when I started. This was the first gym I tried in SD and I couldn't be happier with my choice.”

“Within 2 years, I had Maywhether Boxing, The Boxing Club, and Rumble close on me back to back to back, so I decided to give OTF a try since it's the only group class gym left in my area. I signed up a month ago, and from the very beginning I had various issues with my heart rate monitor. It felt like all the different girls at the reception kept giving me the runaround and I was getting frustrated having to use a loaner every time and hearing different answers from different people. Finally, I was able to meet with the manager, Amelia, and she really turned around my whole experience. She immediately fixed all my issues without me even having to ask, which I really appreciated. Ever since then, I'm a happy member! I have the unlimited membership and go about 4-5 times a week. I love all the classes and all the coaches! I never thought I’d enjoy a treadmill workout, but I even take the Tread50 classes once a week and they’re a lot of fun!”

The facility is clean, spacious, and well organized, with a good variety of equipment for both beginners and experienced members. Everything from cardio machines to weight training equipment looked well maintained and easy to use.”

“NXPT has been a huge part of my life since I started training there in January 2016. Over the years, it has been more than just a gym. It has been a place that keeps me consistent, challenged, and accountable.

I rarely make posts like this, and I am not the type to say a bunch of extra stuff just to make something sound better than it is. Yes, NXPT is hard. Yes, you will have to push yourself. But that is also the point. This gym continually pushes you to do more than you thought you could, and that is where the progress happens.

I know everyone has their own preferences when it comes to fitness, coaching, and training styles. At the end of the day, though, you have to be accountable for your own results. NXPT gives you the roadmap, the coaching, and the environment to do the work.

There are definitely days when I do not feel like doing certain movements or exercises. Guess what, I don’t do them. I modify to something close and keep moving. That is one of the things I appreciate about the gym. You can push yourself, but you can also adjust when needed and still get the work done.

The coaches are knowledgeable, supportive, and know how to push you without making you feel like just another number. The workouts are challenging, but scalable, and the community is one of the biggest reasons I have stayed for so long.

After training at NXPT for nearly a decade, I can honestly say it is one of the best fitness communities in San Diego. Whether you are just getting started or looking to take your training to another level, NXPT is a great place to be.

Highly recommend.”

“Visiting from out of town, Scott helped me out and I got a great lift in! Working out solo in the morning was good, it wasn’t too busy with trainers and clients, so there was plenty equipment open. Gym bathrooms and showers were very clean. 10/10”

“Tried their 3 free class offer and signed up for membership on the spot. Rache was an awesome instructor. Really cool and helpful especially since I was new and didn’t know some of the exercises. Can’t wait to go back”

“Orangetheory UTC is an incredible studio! I’ve taken classes with almost all of the instructors, and they all bring amazing energy, making every workout both challenging and fun.

The front desk team is fantastic—always cheerful and ready to help. Head Coach Sara is awesome too; she’s incredibly knowledgeable and takes the time to connect with members on an individual level.

I also love the recent expansion in class times and the addition of yoga—it’s great to have even more options to fit my schedule. They also do a great job of incorporating a variety of workouts and exercises into the mix, allowing classes - even if you're going 4-5 times/week - never to feel stale.

Overall, I couldn’t recommend this location more. The team is outstanding, and the UTC area has plenty of great spots for pre- or post-workout fuel, whether you’re grabbing coffee, a smoothie, or a meal.”

“My wife and I joined Movement Warehouse during a 3-month promotion last Summer to lean up before our wedding. Not only did we get in great shape, we just had so much fun at each session; I even had part of my bachelor party there! After the wedding, we both immediately signed back up. The workout area and the vibes of Movement are incredible - being able to workout outside with with the directed focus of small classes was always a good way to start the day. All the members are super nice and inviting but the stars of the show are definitely the trainers and owners: always knowledgeable, funny, and encouraging. Having to leave Movement has been the worst part about moving away from PB. If you're in PB and looking for a gym, just sign up - you won't regret it.”

“I recently had to leave Landform Fitness only because I moved and the commute became too long, but I wanted to share how great this gym really is. It’s easily one of the best values you’ll find — a true 24-hour gym with simple keyless entry, super affordable pricing, and a setup that feels almost like having your own personal gym.

There are rarely more than a few people inside (most times I saw 3–5 max), so you can just zone out and do your workout without waiting for equipment or being bothered. The space is clean, quiet, and has everything you need for a solid session.

If I still lived nearby, I wouldn’t have left. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a no-nonsense, low-crowd gym experience.”

“I've had an excellent experience at this gym and truly appreciate the positive environment it provides. What stands out most is the supportive community and motivating atmosphere that makes it easy to stay consistent with fitness goals. The trainers are knowledgeable and encouraging, helping members of all fitness levels feel welcome and confident. Joining this gym has been one of the best decisions for my health and well-being, and I highly recommend it to others.”

“I've had a great experience at Xplicit. The gym is always clean, well-maintained, and has a welcoming atmosphere. The trainers are incredibly knowledgeable, supportive, and take the time to explain techniques properly.

Before joining, I had no idea how to box, but I signed up for a 4-week membership, and it completely changed my experience. I learned so much in a short amount of time and gained confidence in my skills. When my membership ended, I wasn't even aware of it, but the staff were kind enough to still let me register without any hassle, which really showed how much they care about their members.

It's the perfect gym if you're looking to have fun, learn boxing, get a great cardio workout, and train alongside an awesome community. I enjoyed it so much that I brought two of my friends, and they both loved it as well. Highly recommended!”

“This place is great but it doesn’t seem to have air conditioning. So it gets very hot and humid in the summer. Besides that, great space, equipment, and staff”

“My first time to Barry’s and it was challenging but such a great workout. I decided to try it out for the first time when I saw the theme: Swiftie Saturday. Maya was the instructor and gave a tour of the studio when I arrived. She went over how the class goes and it was easy to follow along to her cues. I felt so energized and strong just in one workout. The studio was really clean and easy to find and park. They provide towels for the workout so you don’t have to bring your own. The workout kicked my butt but it definitely motivated me to become stronger and push myself, and I will plan to come back again.”

“Life changing workout program. From building strength to improving cardiovascular fitness, it doesn’t get better than this. The variety is unparalleled and every day is a brand new workout. Five years in and I wouldn’t change it for anything.”
