Maureen is the best!I'm a few months late writing this review and still writing one because Maureen definitely deserves ALL the 5 star reviews.I came to Maureen after working with another mortgage broker. After being told some strange things and being told the home we wanted would be complicated, I had a gut feeling I should fact check my original broker and called Maureen just to get another lender's opinion. She confirmed that the things I was told just weren't adding up and took the time to go over some things with me, even though I was already working with someone else!! Anyone else might see me as a waste of time because I was already with another broker! Well, after talking with her, I knew I had to transfer to her and sign the papers with Maureen to work with her. She just immediately gave me the confidence I needed as a first time home buyer. Trust me, and she'll tell you herself, when she needs answers from others (getting answers was a timely and annoying thing for me prior to Maureen), she will get what she needs to get things done. And she'll get them QUICK and update you immediately. GREAT communication.She even helped me get a lower rate and told me the rates I was getting quoted before were much higher than they should have been. A month later, I became a homeowner and Maureen and her team has made the whole home buying process easier than buying a car!Overall, Maureen has been a delight and VERY communicative. “In June of 2023 my husband was working in Korea while our kids and I were living in Washington state. We were faced with an extremely tight timeline in which to find and buy a home in Maryland; hoping to have keys in hand by mid/late August. Almost the entire home buying process would need to be done virtually, often juggling communication between parties in 2 to 3 time zones. Luckily, my husband’s brother (a realtor in California) referred us to Merry Cristiani for all our lending needs. She was amazing in so many ways, so for brevity’s sake I will focus this review on her diligent communication, expertise, and caring personality. My husband and I initially reached out to Merry via text message to explain our situation and her response was immediate. She was flexible and committed to finding a time when we could Facetime together (despite the tricky time zone differences) for introductions and initial questions. After that call, Merry charged full speed ahead: gathering our information and documents as needed, checking in with us often as we virtually searched for homes, and continuing to respond promptly to our many texts and emails. She also was great at communicating directly with our realtor as needed as well. There is a reason Merry is listed in my contacts as “Loan Guru” (paired with the fire emoji)...because she KNOWS HER STUFF! This is our second time buying a home, yet my eyes still glazed over when discussing the paperwork, timelines, and numbers involved with the whole process. Merry was so patient and willing to explain (often more than once) answers to any questions we posed. She helped us gameplan a realistic price range to stick to that would allow us to meet our long term monthly budget. Her confident professionalism and wealth of knowledge and experience put my mind at ease. I could fully trust in her ability to complete her job without feeling the need to ‘keep tabs’ on her progress. She and her company were able to process all paperwork virtually and complete everything in a shorter timeframe than typically offered by lenders- which was essential for procuring our home in time. Above all else, Merry demonstrated her caring personality through humor and positivity which brought levity to this very stressful and chaotic time for my family. She even checked in with us a few times after we moved into our new home and sent us a thoughtful housewarming gift. I seriously can’t recommend Merry enough!”
