“I was wandering along in San Francisco on my way to visit the bookbinder museum when I met the owner of The Box SF, Mark. When I told him I was interested in books and other historical items, he graciously invited me to enter his shop. The outside is discrete and belies how magical the inside space truly is. When you enter, you're immediately blown away by the vintage art and artifacts everywhere. Mark and his assistant, Israel, gave me a mini-tour and explained how the shop specializes in ephemera, which refers to items that were designed for short-term use (advertising prints, perfume bottles, soap labels, etc). The shop contains items from the mid-1800s to the early-1900s from around the world. Everything is in great condition and attests to the craftsmanship of earlier time periods. What was supposed to be a quick 20-30 minute visit turned into a 2-hour visit.Everywhere you turn, there's something new to take in. I love antique and thrift stores, yet I have never encountered anything as unique as The Box. I found some souvenirs to take home with me and even the wrapping paper was this cool, historical print. The Box is a treasure trove for people who love vintage, antique, or novel artifacts. If that's your style, you have to visit.”
“Absolutely incredible, high-quality silversmith shop. I bought an expensive designer “silver” ring for my partner that turned out to be brass underneath, which oxidized with skin and caused a green rash. Biro & Sons was able to replate it in silver to fix the issue, and they did it within a rush one-day turnaround time for my partner’s birthday present. Really enjoyed every aspect of working with this team (they were very responsive over email). The space is incredibly cool with a vintage vibe too. All around 10/10.”
“The owner Phyllis is an absolute delight of a human! Awesome selection of curiosities and antiques from over 150 years ago. Amazing service; what a wonderful neighborhood gem!”
“Very kind, thoughtful owner. We didn't end up using his services because we wanted our antique table disassembled for storage instead of restored (ultimately didn't make sense to do) but he spent a good 10 minutes brainstorming how best to store our table even after we declined his work.”

“Wonderful items in the store! My wife and I got very nice soup spoons!
The only reason for 4 out o 5 stars though, is the wannabe security guard there following us everywhere in the store, thinking we might steal something. Even after we purchased our spoons, he kept staring at us and followed us out... don't make your customers feel on guard...”

“I engaged The Yes Co to conduct an estate sale for me in my house in SF. I had collected antique furniture for many years and everyone said how lovely and interesting it made my house. However, when I needed to sell the furniture people they said no one would buy it. Everyone wants the latest styles and few one want antiques these days.
Well, Kevin Black and staff proved the nay-sayers wrong. They drew very large crowds and conducted the sale in an organized manner. I’m delighted to say that almost everything sold, even the up-right piano! That was something that I hoped wouldn’t have to be destroyed to move it out of the house and they sold it. Not only that, the total sale proceeds were much more than expected!
I would highly recommend The YES Co when you need to find someone to help you with the sad task of emptying your home when the time comes to do so.”

“This family own business is wonderful. Both the mother and the daughter, Sonam and Pachen, make you feel at home and appreciated. They are kind and generous and loving.
They bring beautiful energy into their shop and it’s always so joyful to be there.
The crystals are amazing I buy all my crystals from them.
They also sell beautiful charm bracelets. They allow you to take your time and pick what you want and they put the bracelets together for you I bought them for my three granddaughters. They loved the bracelets as well as Sonam and Pachen.
If you’re in San Francisco, and you want to treat yourself, buy someone a gift or just have a wonderful experience, I highly recommend you go to Tibetan Golden Lotus!”

“This is the last classic maritime store in the Fisherman's Wharf area. While everywhere else seems to have become a t-shirt shop, Frank's Fisherman sells authentic nautical items. Like a cool museum inside with a vast number of exciting items to browse. Also, lots of books, antiques, high end clothing are on display. A must stop shopping experience for real sailors, or anyone who is interested in the sea going lifestyle.”
