“Wonderful service! There is also a self-serve option to scan in your own packages so you can get in and out very quickly. They accept UPS, FedEx, and USPS so it's a great one-stop shop!”

“Appears to be small and persistently understaffed, every time I've been there there's been a long line and a considerable wait. Having said that it's perfectly conveniently located and I've never had a single problem with customer service. Every single person I've directly dealt with has been kind, pleasant, efficient, helpful, not working slowly. Doing their best.”

“It's always been quick in a out but I only send out prepaid pre printed mailing labeled small packages they scan it tape the bag or box shut for me and put the label on hand me a receipt and instantly my package is being tracked. In and out even when they're is a huge line im surprised how fast they get the line down and I'm heading for the door.”

“Cute, convenient post office with excellent customer service!!!

Judy is ???????

I just registered a PO Box online, and Judy was very patient and kind in providing me all of the information such as what mailing addresses to use for mail vs UPS/Fedex as well as hours. She also provided me a form to do mail forwarding for my other PO Box.

There is no self-service kiosk here. That said, I actually do all of my quickship labels via their website anyway.”

“My passport expired and was lost in my move from HI to SF. And I'm lazy and need my hand held. I made an appointment online for all the things- passport, picture, etc. When I arrived there was a bunch of people waiting in line for shipping packages. Once I got to the front, the super kind lady brought me through the side door to take my picture. She took a few snaps, asked me which one was best? I told her they all look the same. She went over my paperwork, had me make a few changes, additions, photocopied all the things (extra charge) and with the swipe of my debit card for $184.55, I was on my way. My passport arrived two weeks later. . . before my birth certificate. It was the most painless process ever and worth every penny. Here's the breakdown of pricing- USPS Passport Fee- $35 Photo Service- $15 Money Order- $130 Money Order Fee- $2.55 Copy Machine- $2”

Thank you very much Melissa!
P.S. My passport arrived quickly.”

“These ladies have literally gone above and beyond for me with my packages to the UK. I'm sending packages out of country to my partner for my eventual move and they have made sure to make it as easy as possible. I've even gotten tips to make sure my package safe. They've greeted me with a smile, a funny story every single time I go in. People can be pretty awful to the USPS workers, I've seen it in both locations in the sunset but they take it in stride. Cheers to you, ladies! Thanks for making it not miserable sending these boxes monthly ?”

“Warning you will need to go through security on the south side (if you come from the north, they’ll make you walk around outside). It’s located in the basement. Another warning is that there is no signal (or Wi-Fi) bc it’s in the basement, so if you need a QR code, take a screenshot of it beforehand.Celipe (I may have gotten the name kind of wrong, but he’s an older gentleman), was very friendly and helpful. There was no wait either! I was in and out in minutes!”

“It’s a great-looking post office, clearly meant for sending and receiving packages to and from Italy exclusively. In that spirit, it serves as a kind of Italian embassy — offering goodwill through the occasional spaghetti and meatball handout. It’s strewn with Godfather posters and, of course, accepts cannoli as payment.

When Silvio passed away, they flew the Italian flag at half-staff.”

“Generally a very good post office that takes care of lines quickly (mostly because we gays are always on the go and know what we want) and there is a lot of self-service supplies available as opposed to some city post offices where almost everything is locked up or depleted.

My only complaint is the lack of empathy for older clientele who struggle with computers. My client wanted to renew his PO Box and pay for another 6 months and the lady at the counter just kept repeating "ITS PAID TIL SEPTEMBER! GO TO THE WEBSITE!" Well, that's only 2 months away and the rate is $108/6 mo. Why can't we pay for his extension now? And I said probably three times that he gets frustrated using their website. He has renewed this way dozens of times including a few months ago. She could've made our lives a lot easier by processing a basic renewal.”

“I was worried about coming here from reading the reviews, but had a fine experience, the building itself is run-down, but the people at the counter were nice and the lines weren't long (for me, anyway).”

“Usually I have awful slow experiences at the post office but this one was surprisingly great! Darcy was so pleasant and friendly and the line was short and moved fast for my quick return drop off and stamp purchase. Thanks Darcy!”

“I’ve had great luck at this spot. Excellent customer service etc. I regularly drop off packages here without a hitch. Gary is especially concerned with doing things correctly, an asset to the postal service.”

“Like most post offices, they're understaffed, but if you go in the off times it's usually quick. Very conveniently located and the staff couldn't be nicer and more personable.”

“Saturday morning with little wait.

Quality, friendly, and efficient postal service. The man working the front counter will answer your questions and even make sure you have everything else needed.”

“Cute lil post office with friendly staff. The man at the front desk was very nice and helpful. Bonus points: It's close to Starbucks and Fort Mason if you want to grab a coffee or walk around.”

“I visited today to set up a PO Box and despite the extremely busy line, Ireri made the entire process smooth and pleasant. She was patient, professional, and incredibly helpful throughout.

I also picked up some adorable Goodnight Moon stickers and stamps during my visit - such charming designs!

What impressed me most was Ireri’s genuine care and attention to detail while helping me navigate the PO Box application process. This kind of outstanding service doesn’t happen by accident - it’s clear the management team here has created an environment where we can see this level of excellence.

If you need to visit this post office, I hope you get Ireri. She made what could have been a stressful errand into a positive experience. Much more efficient than trying to do it online!

Thank you!”

“I can't say enough good things about this Post Office! The staff goes above and beyond to provide exceptional customer service. They patiently answered all my questions, helped me navigate through the mailing process, and even provided packing supplies for my fragile items. With their expertise and attention to detail, I know I can trust them with all my important shipments.”

“Great location! Chronically understaffed.
The remaining staff, however, is super helpful and efficient.
The location is really good in the midst of the financial district. I just wish they'd put more people there.”

“ANDRA and CANDACE or as I call them the Dynamic Duo are absolutely phenomenal. I only saw them both working so was so so so impressed how quickly yet professionally they took care of everyone in the line. I sure hope there are more in the team but I have almost always only seen them both. Even busy, ANDRA and CANDACE would have a smile and would be extremely helpful. I have a PO BOX at this location for a year and it is because of team members like them, I will definitely extend for another week. Such wonderful employees should be appreciated and recommended.
Thank you Andra and Candace. You are pillar of customer service.”

“I honestly don’t understand how this USPS has 2.7 stars. I find the workers to be super friendly and efficient, and they always propose ways to save money on shipping. Love my neighborhood USPS!”

“The staff is what makes this place really great. The person at the counter helped me pick the right type of shipping and the best size of box to minimize cost. They're incredibly helpful and professional, even if the line is long.

Note: USPS charges you for tape! If you don't want to pay, then either bring tape or tape your packages at home. Even if you have to buy tape, it's still often cheaper than UPS or FedEx.”

“This is my favorite post office. I find the staff are totally professional. Their hours are excellent. The self-serve kiosk is always working, and the lady who accepts the packages at the counter is amazingly efficient and responsive. My only problem with this location is it’s hard to access on public transportation, which is not the USPS’s problem, but since the West Portal station is going to be closed for so long due to the fire there, I wish the postmaster would go to bat with MUNI over re-routing some buses to Lakeshore Plaza.”

“It’s hard to find a USPS that’s open past 5pm or 6pm. Friendly and helpful staff but there can be long lines that move slowly — all what you’d typically expect at a USPS! I’m glad I found this location for the extended hours.”

“the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful in resolving my case of a lost parcel (not their fault). They took the time to do some internal research and thanks to their referral, I was eventually able to recover the lost document.”

The office was well-organized, with clear signage and ample space for customers. Despite the busy atmosphere, the employees remained calm and focused, providing excellent service to everyone. I was impressed by their attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction. Overall, I highly recommend this USPS office for anyone in the area needing mailing or shipping services.”

“Dropped off a package at 4 pm on a Tuesday. All staff were friendly, not a long wait but the first thing I was told was “sorry about the wait”. I had no issues at all!”

2.5 Average94 Reviews

“I have used this post office off and on since 2016. Though the wait can be very long due to limited staff, I recall the majority of my customer service experiences at the counter being very good. The four stars is for the young clerk that helped me last month. She was very patient and professional. I will go out of my way to use this post office in the future. Not many people can say that.”
