“I'm currently in town for the week and traveling light, so adding another pair of shoes wasn't ideal. However, after visiting the Dr. Martens store on Haight and receiving exceptional customer service, I couldn't resist.
The sales associate (whose name, unfortunately, I didn't catch) was incredibly patient and knowledgeable. She not only helped me find the perfect pair of shoes but also provided valuable information on caring for them.
To top it off, she offered a convenient solution to my packing dilemma by setting up free delivery to my home in another state.

“I stopped by A.C.M.E. Workwear while I was up in the city. I usually shop at Redwood Trading Post since I live in Redwood City, but I’m really glad I checked this place out. It’s near Mission and Geneva, not a flashy area at all, but the store itself is solid and worth the stop.
For a smaller shop, the selection is really good. They have a lot of Carhartt, and not just the usual stuff. Pants, shirts, jackets, accessories, and most importantly, real size runs. I wear a 40x34 in work pants, which is usually hard to find, but they had it right there with no issue. That alone impressed me.
I went in planning to use my work stipend on new pants and ended up grabbing a pair of Carhartt B01s and a tee. One thing to note is that the prices are a little higher than online. The B01s were about $67 in the store, while you can find them online for closer to $59. The pair I bought had also been sitting in the sun for a while, so one side was noticeably more faded than the other. To be fair, the guy helping me, Kevin, noticed it right away and gave me a discount without me even asking, which I appreciated.
Kevin was great overall. Super friendly, helpful, and relaxed. No pressure, no upselling, just straight help getting what I actually needed. That kind of service goes a long way.
They’ve been around since 1972, and it shows. The place feels established and dependable. They carry a wide range of workwear brands and gear, from boots to hard hats and more, and even though you can’t order online, they do have a website.
I’d definitely come back, especially if I’m already in the city. If you’re looking for real workwear and good service, this place delivers, just keep in mind the prices can run a bit higher than online.”

“Ray saved the day for me and my fiancé (now husband). Panic would be an understatement. My fiancé had ordered shoes for the wedding but due to shipping delays and unforeseen circumstances the shoes were not going to come in on time even when the company assured him they’d be on time.
With us leaving for our wedding the next day, Ray gave us everything we needed to know to make an informed decision. I loved how knowledgeable he was about each shoe he showed us.
Anyways my fiancé was able to walk out with some black loafers that were a thousand times better than the shoes he was waiting for, and we had a phenomenal experience getting them. Thanks Ray!”

“My wife and I were walking down Fillmore qamd we saw the store and both of us stopped. We looked at each other and immediately rushed in. I picked my favorite things and the awesome, very friendly, and personally, I love her because she guessed I was either a size 0 or 2 dress size, which is true (2), but felt great to hear it out loud. Then, I realized this was Alice + Olivia and was like, of course it is. I love everything. I had purchased dresses and shirts online from the store multiple times. I bought a sweater and a gorgeous button down shirt that was so exquisite and a one of a kind, surely. There was a 15% off for the Holidays sale so the total was only a little over $1000. I was impressed and elated. The store in Beverly Hills, I have never once stopped in because people in LA are anything but classy and elegant. San Francisco, however, is a City where everyone is beautifully dressed ip, never down fashion fan's dream.”
