“When I go to Home Depot - I can wander around for hours without an employee to assist. My go to is now Outdoor Supply Hardware. Every time I am in the store, at least one employee asks if I need help, which I usually always to. I needed some specialty hardware items and the employee who asked was not familiar with that area. He called over John who is the go to man for hardware. He found everything I needed and stayed with me until I had all the supplies needed for my project. Thank you Outdoor Supply for always putting the customer first!!”

“I am a project manager for a distributor in Las Vegas. We do large commercial/industrial projects. Any time we need a breaker, hardware kit, or just about anything job related, these guy's are the BEST. Pricing, accuracy, the right product, fast service. The professional knowledge they have there is second to none. Even when UPS screws something up, they go well out of there way to make it right. They run a tight ship there with no B.S. !! I've worked for corrupt and shady breaker houses in the past and these guy's are the direct opposite. They are my go to guy's. Period.”

“Brian and the team at Redwood Fence Supply were really awesome. I had some do it yourself home repairs for our fencing including new lattice style and sizing and cut-ins for our existing fences. The lattice work is done locally at their shop and was of really nice quality and sturdiness, with different levels of quality available including com heart. They also had sample size cans for a few types of stain I wanted to consider. I appreciate the ability to take even my smaller project in and the time that Brian spent with me. Definitely has family owned customer care. An enthusiastic five stars from me.”

“What can I say? If it's plastic and fantastic they have it or can get it. Zip ties cheaper than Walmart. The always fun discards/trimmings bin. Neat little bottles with a variety of tops you can pick and choose from spray to drip to (non-sharp) needles great for dispensing things like oil for your bike. I'm pretty convinced this place inspired the movie "The Graduate". They'd been around for about a decade and a half by the time that movie was filmed so I rest my case. *Plastics*”

“I decided to install a new kitchen main faucet, under-sink 3-stage water filter with dedicated drinking water faucet. The filter is connected to a tee off the cold water input. All components ordered separately so I was facing the difficult task of finding the correct hoses and fittings to connect everything together. I knew if I went to Home Depot or Lowe's I would not get expert advise, so I drove to Ferguson Plumbing and Supply with a diagram I drew. It was a good decision, I was helped immediately in a friendly manner and within a few minutes all the correct lines and fittings were selected for me. “Don't have a lot of room so lets make this short. First, I am a Taper and have been taping for the last 13 years. It has been my pride and honor, my bread and butter, and honestly one of the best things that I have taken the time to learn how to do with my hands. Within the time of my short career, there have been many a stores that I have came across to try out, and to see what they have to offer to make my job easier and more enjoyable, and if you live in the bay area, there really arn't too many places that you can go to for the specialized craft of taping besides AMES. However, among the few and far between each AMES location has its own values, merits, and above all, personality. When you are looking at a full day of sanding, or a full day of running the box, it's the small things that can make or break your attitude for the day. With that said, there are not many places within the U.S. that can measure up to the service, the knowledge, and the good vibes that Estella and Victoria provide. These two are the dynamic duo to the fullest and are honestly the main reason I return to this specific location day after day for all of my taping needs! Estella, the Grand Master of making things happen and knowing all things taping. If you are a taper, or if you know a taper, or if you run your own company of tapers, you know Estella. Estella is the backbone of this location and from the amount of information that flows through her, at times, it feels like this company, I honestly don't know what they would do without her. Ever time I have walked through those doors she has always greeted me with respect and put me up on game from the time to I was an apprentice, to now where I am a journeyman standing on my own. Some of the best customer service in the industry could be learned from this woman. She has always gone above and beyond for her clients and customers, specially when a payment was due! lol But also more than that, whatever special tool that you needed, she was right there on phone trying her best to get it in her shop, whatever new tool that came out, she gave her honest opinion about it. Among other things, she was and always will be the Godmother!! Victoria, next to every Queen is another one that has the others back! and this is what Victoria was to Estella, another Queen that had her back. From what I have seen throughout my years she has really grown into herself and has held her own. Dare I say, Victoria is one of the best assets that this company has. These days, it's hard to find someone with the same spirit, determination, and dedication to her job than Victoria. She has just as much knowledge as Estella and always has a big smile while she is at work. I look forward to conducting my business with her every time I walk through those doors with the name AMES on them. I don't believe that I have ever walked in to the store and they have ever been backed up when it came to paperwork, or inventory. Even if Victoria had a lot of work to do she has always put the customer first which I have always appreciated. She is such a hard worker, I think any company would be lucky to have her. I can see her as being a manager of her own store someday, I know she deserves it! All in all, I have been to all of the AMES locations in the bay area and with everything that I have just wrote I'm sure that you can tell why. This is one of the best locations that AMES has to offer. Superior Drywall Applications (My company) definitely recommends AMES to get all of your taping needs, and this location specifically due to the overwhelming support one receives from these ladies who run this shop. They truly are the best, and any company would be stupid to loose these two wonderful employees willingly, just the same as they would be lucky to have them, in which this case, this company is!”

“Holy moly, Kristin Montoya knows her colors! We are beginning a renovation and I was absolutely lost about what color tiles, quartz, backsplash, etc to choose. I came in here and spent an hour with Kristin and walked out with an interior and exterior paint palette that would make even the Property Brothers jealous! Kristin is calm, has an exceptional style sense, and is incredibly helpful. Thanks to her help in establishing a palette, I was able to choose all of my finishes with ease! **Should also mention that Kristin is finishing her interior design degree - her expertise is apparent.**”

Review for visits from the first week of Jan 2025:

This review is a very quick shoutout to Ariel for helping me with the right shades of white (one for my kitchen drawer panels and the other for the bathroom vanity panels). I got them the panel boards (one from each, to match the paint) on Thursday evening and was able to pick them on Saturday morning and the paint came out to be just perfect. She had left detailed steps for the entire process (since i had messed up the drawer panels and needed to get rid of the old paint before setting the new one in) which i definitely appreciated.

Kevin as usual being super helpful, guided me with the options for a couple of foam rollers, hand held pails and a few other accessory items that i needed for my project.

All in all a fantastic experience and absolutely recommend the store for all your paint needs.”

“This is the place to shop at if you are trying to get decent tools or hardware for cheaper than the big box orange guys, because let's face it, you really don't need to shell out the big bucks when you are still figuring everything out. That said, there are still some misses, ahem their countersink drill bits, where you probably won't be a happy customer. Just remember the old adage that you get what you pay for. This location is also in a sketchy-ish location and you get the vibe with all their shoplifting prevention. But come on, if you're buying tools at a bargain price then this is far down the list of deterrents. Especially when you get a very similar experience at the orange big box guys.
