“This business goes above and beyond for customers. Years ago when they were at their old location, an OUSD high school student of mine was interested in clothing design and small business. My husband liked this brand, so my student and I reached out to Oakland’s Own’s owner. Right away, he was receptive, warm, and encouraging.
We’ve since bought shirts and a jacket for ourselves and family.
More recently, I ordered kids’ clothing. They communicated a restock delay and EVEN BROUGHT IT TO ME to make sure I could gift it in time to out of town family.
I can’t recommend this business enough. And everything we’ve ordered has always been fire. The designs are hella unique and consistently great quality. Plus it’s run by good folks!

“My daughter helped me discover this gem by giving me a gift certificate for my birthday. I went with her at least six months later, and was so charmed by our experience. The range and quality of the fragrances made the trip in worth it. Then, the whimsical environment just made it feel like a magical experience. The owner did not disappoint in this regard, and is very knowledgeable about the scents and their combinations. She patiently supported us (without stalking) while we painstakingly smelled (discovered) every fragrance in each beautiful bottle, then she helped us create our own oil roller and lotion tin using our two favorite scents — which have lasted over a year and still smell good enough to be a staple in my purse.
And the prices… let you know she’s been there a long time and is doing it for the love. Total gem! Love this shop! Planning to go back soon.”

“This local store is a wonderful find, offering a curated selection of organic and natural beauty products, including 100% OIL perfumes (not infused with alcohol many stores used to cut their products to make a profit), massage oils, soaps, crystals and incense. The owner's decades of expertise, engaging personality, positive vibes and kind demeanor create a welcoming atmosphere and a truly positive shopping experience. I go there to get my hard to find China Rain body oil perfume that has been a classic, popular light scent in The Bay Area since the 70's. Please support local and black-owned businesses.”
“Clean, organized store with friendly staff. You can try on as many items of clothing in the fitting rooms as possible which is so nice they even have these cool screens that detect what clothes you have any tell you prices and other info such as color availability. Lots of items on sale.”

“Nordstrom Rack on Marina Boulevard in San Leandro is one of our favorite places to shop for great deals. The store is clean, well organized, and offers a wide selection of clothing, shoes, accessories, and home items at discounted prices.
We often find quality brands at excellent prices, and the inventory changes frequently, making each visit feel like a treasure hunt. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the checkout process is usually quick and efficient.
If you're looking for designer brands and everyday essentials at a discount, this Nordstrom Rack is definitely worth a visit. ?️?”
“The reason it's not 5 stars is because it's fairly small , hence not a lot of merchandise but other than that, it's a clean store and the stuff is very helpful, at least the staff at the cashier.
Extra points for always having your pick up order ready and figured out, unlike their sister Gap Factory, where the stuff doesn't know very well what's going on.
The stuff is treating the customers like they are shopping in a BR store, not a BR factory store. I wish staff at neighbor Nordstrom Rack had the same attitude.”
“Flew into town with no luggage not expecting a long stay luckily this Ross dress for less was not far. Considering the amount of mixed aged Clothing- I was still able to come up with something the location is super convenient next to the beauty supply that has all of the accessories that they don’t I might make traveling without luggage a thing now. “Very quaint and fully-stocked store. Location is very central and only a block away from the Al-Huda masjid as well. The owner was very welcoming and helpful during my shopping experience there. The racks are well organized and I even bought an adorable grey thobe for my son, as well as a grey embellished abaya for myself. It always feels nice to help a small business when I am able.”
“I purchased some jeans GAP online during at 50% off sale. However, one pair did not fit well and I wanted to exchange it for a slim cut. Not having had to do an online return, I text chatted with a customer service rep and she explained the steps to return the pants, reorder and pay for the new pants and that it would take up to 25 business days for my return to be processed and credit to be issued. Not wanting to deal with the process, I decided to do the exchange at a store. GAP has been closing many locations and stores are few and far in between. Luckily the nearest store was only 9 miles away at the Lakeshore area and I found a parking space down the block.There was no wait and I was able to walk up to the cashier and explained my intent to do an exchange. She said I would be credited for my purchase, but I would have to purchase the new jeans at the current price and not at the price I paid, which didn't make sense. She said she would get a manager to help me. A manager came and I explained my situation and he checked if the pants I wanted was in stock and it wasn't. So he ordered it online and it would be sent to me and processed my return. The pants went down in price so I even go a credit for the difference. I was happy to get my exchange done at the store and not have to deal with the steps required for an online return. It was not simple like a return on Amazon. Though the cashier did not understand the exchange I wanted to transact, I appreciated that the manager made the exchange transaction seamlessly.”
