“I was introduced to Home Street Bank about a year ago. Specifically the San Marcos location! Most big banks have lost the art of customer service, of caring about every customer who walks through the door, no matter their bank account balance. Home Street - San Marcos, in my opinion, has definitely not lost this. They should actually write a book on how to properly treat customers. They are beyond accommodating, so friendly, make you feel like family and help you with every banking need you have. It's worth switching banks if you are not happy with how you are being treated! “This was my first time coming to this branch. I was a bit nervous upon entering as the interior decor made me question what year I had stepped into as it has a 70's vibe (and not in a good way). It seemed dark and dismal and I half expected the staff to be dressed in ugly brown suits and dresses. There was a rather long walk down the roped path to the tellers, plenty of time to take in the heavy darkness of the bank. It was a bit foreboding however I was pleasantly surprised when I had only a few minute wait to be assisted by a smiling teller that was from this decade:) The teller was quick, kind, professional and my deposit transaction was handled quickly and painlessly. Moral of the story is don't judge a bank by it's throwback decor.”

Earlier that day we failed to get help at a different location, 2704 Loker Ave W, Carlsbad, CA 92010. The staff there was not knowledgeable nor friendly. So we tried this location instead.

When we first walked in, there were no greeters or staff to direct personal versus business clients. We waited by the front area for about 10 minutes before an employee spoke with us. After we identified ourselves as a business client, we were asked to wait for a member of the business team to finish their scheduled appointments before we were helped. We waited another 15 minutes and were helped by Armando Ortiz, Business Solutions Advisor.

Armando was professional, friendly, and efficient. He did not push any products or services on us, and addressed our needs. Armando also seems to be fluent in both English and Spanish which is fantastic. Armando did a great job and we appreciate him!”

“Decade of experience. Have had nothing but fast, efficient, pleasant service here. I do not understand all the negative reviews, it is not Wells Fargo or Citi which prey on poor folks. This is an EXCELLENT supermarket branch with free parking always available and good hours. Staff turnover is what you would expect but everyone is effective.”

“The Best Bank everThe only Bank in San Marcos that you want , no you need to do business with .Fernando the super Professional and knowledgeable Bank Banker really helped sue from Sue Thai Om set up her Business account. She got the great app . He spent the time to help her with all her questions. The people here are soo helpfull . The staff is amazing . Monique is prob the best teller there hands down . Angela is an even better Teller. Well they are all good tellers. They make me feel at home and explain things to someone like me who is not as knowledgeable with Banking and money . But it felt different here. Like they really care. We will be shifting alot of our accounts here.We plan on going back for a Home Loan and get a safety deposit box. Fernando spoke fluent spanish and helped me understand all the rules and conditions. They made sue happy that she had a bank with someone she can talk to . ive been to many banks. But to be honest. Us. Bank is the . i will be doing all my currency exchanges here for quite some time... I feel it is that personal service and the local ties to the community that makes this bank..
