I found this local shop after a quick search and the owner was willing to check out my car on a Saturday when it's usually closed. After inspecting, he found a few issues that were concerning and provided me with the rates. Kevin (the owner) is an honest mechanic and gave me some fair quotes compared to other shops. I highly recommend this place for any of your auto car repairs if you're looking for an honest shop that's focused on the customer - he provided suggestions on what I needed to fix and what I may need in the future. “I recently (10/25) moved to the Monterey Area. I've been a long-term Mazda owner, so learning there was not a local Mazda dealer, I was on the hunt for a Mazda-focused mechanic. After some inquires of other Mazda owners and reading online reviews, Hartzel Automotive kept popping up as the place to go. So, I made an appointment. Barry and staff were very friendly, checked the car in at the scheduled time and did the oil change, tire rotation and investigated some other items that I mentioned. This was all done efficiently; I was in and out in about an hour.”
