Macy's at the Rogue Valley Mall is described as the only really nice department store in town and a little hidden gem. It is a two-story location offering a first class selection of top fashion brands for clothing, shoes, and jewelry, along with housewares and a bargain section. Many find it a good place to shop, noting it is well stocked with a variety of sizes and is affordable despite inflation. The store offers wonderful assistance, including a free on-site stylist, leading to an amazing shopping experience for some who normally dislike clothes shopping. Customer service is overall good. However, the store has faced challenges. It declined in appearance after COVID-19, with apparel in disarray, and it can become impressively messy due to some customers leaving items thrown on the ground, creating piles of clothes for employees. Some feedback suggests corporate decisions may limit improvements. Despite these issues, its appearance has improved, and it remains a recognizable and appreciated business that has held on over the years, considered by some to be the best kept secret in town.
