“This was an absolute revelation of a place.

First, the house is absolutely gorgeous, and that living room with its fireplace, where one can sip one's coffee, was a delight. The coffee itself, by the way, was the best I've had in California.

Then there was the breakfast. Dominique, the former ballerina who runs the place, is an absolutely superb cook, and it was without doubt the best breakfast I've had anywhere.

Bonus points: none of the throwaway culture that the rest of California seems to specialize in.

The room was tiny but comfy, the bed very comfortable, the bathroom perfectly fine, and the little balcony a delight.

Absolutely to be recommended.”

“We had an amazing stay, the location is obviously great, we had a very comfortable room with a great view, and the decor was very cool, but the service really made the stay amazing. Preston started our stay with such a great personality and assistance! We felt so well taken care of between his help and Joshua's service at the front desk. Valet was kind and fast. Food at Sirena was delicious and service very attentive! Great globalist benefits from Hyatt. Overall, an amazing experience at this boutique hotel.”

“This was the second time returning to this hotel as my husband and I really loved the location and proximity to the ocean.
Unfortunately, my husband injured his back on this trip and we wound up having to stay in the room for five days, the hotel their staff were so wonderful and accommodating, bringing us ice around the clock. They even recommended a doctor to come see my husband and give him some pain management . Will come back for a duo trip as soon as my husband is going up to it. Thank you to everyone!”

“Casa del Mar is absolutely gorgeous, and the entire experience was outstanding from start to finish. The service was incredible and the food was delicious.
A special shoutout to Brian at check-in. I had accidentally booked the wrong date, and he went completely out of his way to accommodate me. That kind of service is rare and very much appreciated.

“From the moment you walk in, you were greeted with warm hospitality and authentic care, always feeling like you are out of five star hotel. Surifel was our first interaction and it was stellar. He continued to make sure we knew that he was happy to accommodate anything we needed throughout our time. Lenny was also outstanding! My husband and I were looking for a place to watch the Super Bowl to see our Seahawks win, and their recommendations were on point. The complementary bikes were awesome and I must do! We rode all the way down to Venice Beach, had some lunch and rode back. The vibes are always on point! Highly recommend staying here for a quick getaway, business trip or just some me time.”

“Be aware that the breakfast is something very basic, do not expect eggs, cheese, bread. There are cereals, bananas. If you rely on the hotel's breakfast it is better to stay at them and directly go to one of the 4-5 stars hotels in the area. This way you will experience another location, real terrace, etc. Of course, it comes with a price. Call the hotel or email in advance to find out if it's self serve bkfast or a la carte (1st option is better).
Staff friendly, clean rooms. Noise from the outside ? I cannot tell for all rooms, I stayed at a quiet side. Appreciated the 2 bottles with water found in the room. Walking until the beach approx 25 min. You also have the bus option.”

“This unique and exceptional hotel pisses excellence, offering a refined and thoroughly enjoyable experience that exceeds expectations on all fronts.

The location is unbeatable, the food is great, etc, but what stands out most is the staff. Ever single staff person smiles, says hello, and seems genuinely interested in whether there is anything they can do to improve your stay. Somehow, no one who works here ever seems to be having a bad day. I don't understand how that is possible in 2026, but somehow this hotel pulls it off.

From the initial arrival through departure, every member of the hotel staff demonstrates remarkable friendliness, attentiveness, and professionalism. Front desk personnel, concierge associates, valets, and all other team members are consistently welcoming, proactive, and dedicated to ensuring a seamless stay. Their personalized recommendations and prompt assistance contributes significantly to the overall sense of hospitality and care.

The guest rooms are exceptionally well designed, combining modern aesthetics with thoughtful functionality and high-quality finishes. They feature comfortable furnishings, spa-like bathrooms, and layouts that maximize both space and comfort.

The thick glass windows effectively minimize external noise from the surrounding vibrant area, while the blackout curtains provide complete light control. These elements, together with premium bedding, create an environment conducive to deep, restorative sleep.

Ocean Avenue can get loud, and that kept me from trying out this hotel in the past. But I was wrong. I've rarely slept better at night in any hotel. The person who designed the thick sliding glass windows understood the potential noise issue, and solved it to perfection.

The property offers solid recreational and wellness amenities. The cold plunge provides a refreshing and invigorating contrast therapy experience alongside the heated pool and hot tub, both of which offer a relaxing atmosphere with cabana options and attentive poolside service.

Guests receive convenient access to Anytime Fitness through complimentary fitness passes. The free bicycle rentals are particularly well-suited for exploring the scenic coastal paths and nearby attractions. The on-site Shoreside Restaurant delivered excellent cuisine, with fresh, flavorful dishes and craft beverages served in an inviting indoor-outdoor setting with ocean views.

The overall atmosphere is one of coastal elegance combined with genuine warmth and attention to detail. Shore successfully combines excellent location, superior facilities, and exemplary service in a manner that leaves a lasting positive impression. Looking forward to staying here again next week.”

“My wife and I were pleasantly surprised by this hotel after reading other reviews.

The guy that checked us in was friendly, thorough and made an effort to find us a room before the official check-in time.

The room was clean and modern, with all the expected amenities (TV, fridge, microwave, coffee, etc).

The ‘Light breakfast’ is basic, but adequate and better than nothing.

Location is great - 10 minute drive to downtown/ coastal Santa Monica.

The only negative is the $11.80/ night parking fee. However, this is less than some other hotels and the lot is a secure underground garage.

Overall, we were very happy with our stay.”

“My favorite place in the world - I've been around the world and I have to say my dream place is the Seaview in sweet Santa Monica. Rosa and owner John are two of the nicest people I've ever met. Best located hotel for the price in the country. Places next door cost 4X more, but 4X less soul. Why is it temp closed? I was ready to book for a winter vacay.”

“This is one of those places where beds are too small, the showers not meant for tall people, and you have to pay for parking , but they don't tell you in the ad. Parking is reserved. Otherwise the location is great.”

“Great location. Just a few blocks from the famous pier and the beach, 3rd Street Promenade is a nice outdoor mall. Across the street is the Metro Train station, so public transportation can get you anywhere in LA. Only negative is the homeless there.”

“Room:

My wife and I had an ocean view room on the 8th floor. The view was wonderful during the daytime. Although the building has been renovated, its age shows a bit in the HVAC and plumbing systems, and more annoyingly, the door's key card reader (which took several swipes before opening each time). Our bathroom layout was a bit inconvenient since the sink countertop was quite small. A bedside wireless charger was a nice surprise.

Service: great overall with a couple small snafus. Restaurant, front desk, and doormen were good. Asking for water bottle delivery to our room was amazingly fast. The small snafus were confusion upon checkin about a spa credit (none exists even for Amex Travel bookings), and slow bellhop luggage delivery.

Food: surprisingly good. Highlights would be the seared tuna and avocado toast.

Location: walkable to the beach. Very convenient and fast to get an Uber or a e-scooter. No complaints.”

“The owner, Bob, made the experience very easy. I arrived to my room earlier than reserved and he made accommodations for me to be able to check in earlier. He also tried to help with parking as much as he could but unfortunately couldn’t find any and recommended a parking garage nearby since I was only staying for the night. All and all the room was good and the communication was great. Will book again!”

“Check in and out was smooth and fast. Front desk are super friendly and informative. The room was very nice with GREAT views and really appreciate the soundproof windows. There was no street noise, especially because it’s right next to the Santa Monica pier and across from 3rd St promenade.

Breakfast setting was nice, service a little slow and food was just ok. I was expecting more flavor or better service for the prices on the menu. But what made breakfast almost unbearable was parents who bring their toddlers and let them roam the restaurant yelling “no” at people and banging their toys on things.

Sans the breakfast experience everything else was good.”
