“I have a lovely white Singer Featherweight that I like to use for travel projects. After paying an ungodly $175 to get it serviced at Richmond Vacuum & Sewing, I struggled with a few things but thought it was something that I was doing wrong. Since I only have used it about 8-10 times, I was pretty surprised that the motor seemed to be slowing down. I checked the manual and discovered: belt being too tight could be the problem. I got a screwdriver to give it more space but guess what? It was already at the closest position.I took my sewing machine to Village Sewing Center in Santa Rosa where John, the owner, immediately identified several problems with my Featherweight:1. First, the cost for the servicing of $175 - he was shocked and wanted to know "What did he DO to it?"2. The belt is basically a rubber band - not the leather belt that allows proper adjustment and doesn't put inappropriate stress on the machine. This is a popular machine with widely available parts. There's no excuse for this failure.2. Bobbin tension can be adjusted with a screw -- he showed me how to do this correctly.3. Top thread tensioner should not be at "0" -- he took it apart, adjusted and reassembled it, fine tuning the tension on the bobbin tension.4. Showed me the points for lubrication and demonstrated a couple of other items that were missed in Wilson's $175 Featherweight servicing. My total cost? $9.86 for the actual Singer Featherweight belt and the machine runs like a dream. Moral of the story: Do not go to a vacuum shop with your sewing machines. It's expensive to go to either Berkeley or Richmond Vacuum & Sewing Center and there really are options where people are more professional when it comes to sewing machines.”

“working with Lorna Brown at TeeVax was a pleasure. She was very professional and had lots of excellent ideas, choices and suggestions. Her visits to our home were a big help. She kept us well informed on the cost of choices we made. Highly recommended. The other staff at TeeVax were also helpful and not at all pushy.”

“I have been here a few times but admittedly I have not been persuaded to make any significant purchases. While they have a good variety tools, gadgets and appliances I feel the offerings are basic, not exclusive. I mean the carry a lot of Cuisinart products but little I would call higher end. Now I appreciate the Gagia espresso machines from Italy but that's about the most exotic thing they carry. I want to really sing their praises being a Santa Rosa institution and small biz, and there may be some things you cant find at a competitor, I just wish they were a little more gourmet.”

“When I run into a situation with an appliance and know what I need to fix it, I reach out to APE. Over the years, they have been very helpful and the part is in hand for as little as 2 days. Going on the web, it can take 4-7 business days. What I like most, they are local so am I.”

“The owner was there and very helpful. I had almost decided which vacuum I wanted by reading up on the topic before I went in, and he helped me narrow it down even further by demonstrating all the Sebo canisters he had in stock. I had a lot of questions and he was patient about all of them. He understood my needs for the type of rugs I collect. Altogether I am very happy with my choice of the Airbelt.”

“Thanks A-One! It's amazing to have our vacuum tuned up. We didn't even realize how poorly it was working before. A-One had the parts in stock and our machine was ready in less than two days. Staff is courteous and helpful. Very appreciative of this shop!”

“Don has a huge selection of appliances, and knows his stuff. Has something for every budget as well. He repaired our washer at our rental unit last year, and we bought a range from him as well. Just picked up a nice used washer and dryer set as well as a small used wine cooler last week. Delivered, installed, and hauled away the old ones.”

“Jeremy at Santa Rosa Home Depot has helped us out twice: once with plumbing and another time with getting keys made. But I'm sure he's not limited to that. He seems to be a very capable guy. What really stood out is that went out of his way each time to make sure we got what we were looking for. He didn't just point us in the right direction of a part. He made our task, his task. He was also knowledgeable, efficient, polite, and friendly. But it really stood out that he went the extra mile and invested himself in making sure our project, whatever it was, was a success. Thanks for going the extra mile Jeremy!”

“Well been shopping at best buy since I quess it's been open. .it changed a lot over the years . It was mostly DVD's were big when it first open . Didn't added more appliance division and magnolias is gotten a few vendors like the chair manufacturers and sporting equipment exercise equipment. Seem like it was a lot more entertainment items in the past it seems to be not as much as it used to be. It feels a little bear sometimes. You can order anything you want on line which I've had. Felt a little scared of spending a couple thousand dollars on something and waiting for UPS to leave that your front door step. The values good I bought in TVs I bought an appliances I bought the DVD players cords and accessories laptops phone just about anything you could think of. Never had a problem with returning anything now they have the pro rewards or you can buy a membership it's okay a little gimmicky but I get to her understanding people buy stuff and then return it when they done with it. I would love to see more mid-range home theater receivers but I just bought a Onkyo Rz 50 And I've been happy. If you watch the sales in Open boxes you can make a pretty good deal. Going in for a new TV in a few months hopefully have stuff there for me to buy on the floor and not have online order it. Geek squad's good . And seem to do a pretty good job explaining some problems with your equipment. I guess every part of my home entertainments is from Best buy”

“I have had a unexpected challenges in completing a front porch project due to incorrect product, insufficient product, and lack of response from my original provider. I went into Home Depot and was immediately helped by an employee to locate my options in the store. He then introduced me to Tammy Stephens, one of the Pros. She walked me through design options and gave me her card to have my contractor send her the measurements. It could not have been an easier or more enjoyable process, especially after having this project drag out over a month. I would highly recommend this store and working with its Pros. They operate with integrity, communicate clearly, and deliver on what they commit to doing. THANK YOU!!!!”
