“I am always working on projects, usually needing some random obscure piece of hardware to get to the finish line. Frequently, I can’t find the hardware anywhere except this store. The staff is always checking to see if you need help, and they’re very helpful in being creative to find you what you need. I needed a very specific spring coil mechanism this morning, went in to this true value, and the staff checked multiple departments to get me multiple options for my project, and I was in and out in 10 minutes. Always worthwhile to come here and get whatever you need, and I’m very happy to have them in my neighborhood. It’s incredible that they seem to have everything under the sun in a relatively small space..”

“Well I just spent a1000 dollars on a pump at least they had it . I remember shopping here with my dad. . when we building. Homes and remodels And repairs . It changed a lot over the last 50 years at least shopping here adding new stores in different areas . Always has good service has good and friendly to . I know some of the old timers that work there and tool selection hardware . Windows doors kitchens just about everything you need good selection fairly good value from not being a superstore like home Depot and Lowe's but for selection and quality they're pretty well top notch good value in lumber plywood fencing material is probably the best best in the area of any store”

“These guys are great. I was torn between buying all my lumber at Home Depot or buying it at Golden State. Golden State had a lot more of the unusual stuff in stock, and Mark was extremely patient with me, which I really appreciate. Prices were comparable to Home Depot and he said they have better lumber, so I went with them. A wonderful guy name Davy in the yard spent an hour and a half with me while I meticulously picked out about a hundred straight and mold-free pieces. Im super happy with the lumber and I’m happy and grateful for their expert, patient help. When was the last time you could say that about Home Depot?”

“So this wonderful supply store has those items in life you never new you needed, of wish you didn't. Waddles, sand bags, etc things you end up needing if you live in Sonoma County after a while. Courteous, Helpful and well versed in all things industrial, Omar was understanding of my needs for water barriers at my home. I felt much more confident in my DYI storm management and I feel the prices for what I got were fair and a lot less expensive then I imagined. Really very inexpensive but effective . I received personal service again in the yard when Chris delivered to my truck the waddle and sandbags. Top notch business and staff, great prices and a fantastic resource when it comes to inclement atmospheric rivers!”

“My home garage air compressor pressure switch failed so I ordered the one for my Central Pneumatic but when I installed it I found the "updated" unit's vent connection had been rerouted and the existing tubing was not long enough. Diddly! After 2 days of frustration in phone calls and buying the wrong material tubing that softened and blew out A-1 Compressor was suggested. I had never heard of them. I called and after listening to my dilemma they simply said we have some nylon on the truck, come-on over. When I arrived they handed me the critical 2' of tubing, no charge, and then took the time to answer a question on the vent system I had. They were just being nice and felt my pain. So, would I take my work to them? For sure! They expected nothing from me but what they got is my respect and high commendation for (not-even-a) customer caring and service! Thanks guys!”

“If you need the help of smart, home improvement people, go here. It's rare to have actually helpful staff in specialty stores like this. Sometimes I do wish I didn't hear "do you need help" 10 times, but that's only because I generally like to accomplish my tasks on my own. But, the folks here are knowledgeable, can help with questions on your projects and the store has just about all the home improvement items you need. Plus, it's local.”

They have garden equipment and a specialty shop on the upper level.I have also been treated with kind, honest, and prompt service. They are not going to have the inventory of a big box store, but this is an excellent neighborhood hardware store.”

“Had a great experience when I reached out for some help with a Honda Mower with back wheels that were locking up. Was told it would be about a month to get service (which is reasonable as it is that time of year). Brett also mentioned to me that I might simply loosen a nut on the cable running up the side of the handle. He took the time to explain the process to me in detail. Well, it worked like a charm and the mower is back to working like normal. He did not have to take the time but he did and it is insanely appreciated. Know where I am taking my lawn equipment in the off season for a tune up!!! Thanks lots!”
