“We stopped in to look for a door for the attic door at home. Literally, we spent about two hours walking around, looking at every nook and cranny because the store is filled with so many little treasures. We ended up not getting a door, but we did buy a couple mirrors and the rolltop desk in the Photos the manager Quinton was super helpful And is always willing to make a deal. Please note that this place is open even though Apple Maps says it is closed...... Get in there and get some cool things for your house!! Better values will not be found elsewhere!”
“There is a huge selection of fun stuff. I am a do it yourself hardscape enthusiast. Im always trying to put together some creation in my yard. Whenever I go to EL Camino Building Supply, the staff (owners usually) are always so helpful with ideas and help me with what products would work best for what I am trying to accomplish. Not only are they full of supplies and knowledgeable, they also are huge supporters of our community, including 4H, and FFA. They are huge sponsors of youth and high school athletics. They continue to provide great products and service, then generously donate back to our youth. I will always stop here before venturing to a big box store. El Camino Building Supply have heart and will always have our business.”

“I attempted to rate two outstanding employees who assisted me yesterday as I purchased my ride lawn mower. (LOWES rating site was a bit ODD). Brandon was my initial help. I was on the phone with him a few times regarding an Ariens- Ikon gas mower. He got me measurements, and all specs necessary to bring one home in a trailer. At Lowes he walked me through the process of purchase. Brandon provided FRIENDLY service all the way as this purchase developed from AM to pick up at about 4pm. ARMAND put the tractor together and teamed up with Brandon to show US the basics and safety of the ride mower. Armand walked me through securing the ride mower in the trailer and Armand stressed safety. Both gentlemen were outstanding, helpful, knowledgeable, and passionate about helping their customers!!!! I rate them a TEN!!! thank YOU both.”

“Road tripping and in Templeton, CA. While driving down South Main Street, we eyed the Hewitt Hardware building. Noticing the brick building with a 1899 marker on the top of the left side of the building and a 1923 marker on the other, we made a point to stop to check out the hardware store. We do appreciate functioning hardware stores housed in historic buildings.
The hardware store is an Ace hardware. An actual operating hardware store. The Hewitt family has owned the shop since 1923. Pretty darn cool. The shop is filled with hardware items for the home and ranch. They carry typical Ace hardware inventory. Prices were actually competitive. I saw items priced cheaper than my local Ace Hardware in the Sacramento/Placerville area.
As we walked about the historic building, we can see the interior where the older (pre 1923) and the newer (1923) building begins. Other than that, nothing historic inside..The interior was modern and clean with well organized inventory. Staff was welcoming. The young man even listened to Hubs stories of the oldest hardware store west of the Mississippi in Placerville, CA (est 1856) which is in our neck of the woods.
We even stopped to speak with the owner of the new shop opening next to Hewitt Hardware. He was working on the outside porch area. We struck up a brief conversation. He and his wife were opening up a boutique and leather goods shop. He is a leather craftsman making handcrafted goods. The shop's soft opening is on July 3rd in time for the big ole Fourth of July Templeton parade.”
