“Poppies is a magical jewel in the heart of Ventura, an absolute must-see for visitors and locals, alike. From exquisitely curated vintage fashion with impeccable style, personality and humor; to artwork, tapestries, LP's (we dare you not to dance in the dressing room), jewelry, candles, housewares, stationery and more, Poppies is the perfect spot for one-stop-shopping. Offering unique, one of a kind finds and gifts for toddlers and tweens to hipsters and centenarians, there's something here to delight everyone! The store is artfully, colorfully designed, the prices affordable (the denim is off the hook), the easygoing, family-friendly vibe happy and relaxed and its owners are warm and welcoming. They clearly love what they do, as it shines through every facet of the Poppies experience--which is perfection. We scored so many amazing finds, it was epic! What a joy to support this local, family-owned business. Fans for life.”

“Calling all last minute gift seekers, I have done the hard work for you. This is the perfect store and Cindy is so sweet and knowledgeable about her products (that run the gamut from handcrafted art pieces to gourmet chocolates). For me she created the perfect gourmet goodie baskets set in the cutest reindeer handcrafted baskets ( perfect for office gifting), and she even helped me carry them to my car. Cindy's store supports local artisans, crafters, and growers and is a gem. I noticed that she also carries quite a number of items that would be perfect for a baby shower, and specialty bath salts and soaps, organic health food snacks, and many other unique gifting day surprises. Needless to say I've found my new favorite thing !”

“I wanted to check out Main Street since they had closed a lot of the street to traffic. It's really nice to walk there without all the cars and traffic. I was looking for some nice and unique tops. Since I retired about a year ago, I have purchased very few items of clothing. I am really concerned about the impact of the fashion industry on the environment and climate change. So I thought that it would be better to give some clothing a second chance rather than buying brand new ones. The women's clothing was arranged by color and the store was pretty neat and clean. I spent some time going through the racks and most of the women's clothing was gently used or new. I found about five tops that I really liked and they ranged in price from $1.75 to $7. One top was even brand new with the tags still on! Most of the tops fit very well but others were a little big and I'm going to take them in with my sewing machine. I may even change the tops a little bit. I am trying to get back into sewing but I just haven't been able to start making any clothes for myself. However, the most wonderful thing happened after I got these tops: I could see how to change or modify them and I started sewing. It was a miracle! The cashier was very friendly and even complemented the blouse I was wearing. I did notice on the way out they had a chalk board with their special pricing by color. I can't wait to go back!”

“By far this store is my favorite place to find treasures. I save myself many hours from digging through old items at dirty thrift stores. I love the ambiance at this precious store. I have found many special pieces to add to my collection of vintage clothing. Top quality and great service. I really love to support small businesses in our beautiful town of Ventura.”

“Very nice place to visit and find cool gear. Their prices are still decent by comparison. They are more "thrift-shoppy" that "boutiquie"... So they spare you the ridiculous prices other places have. Still, the gear is excellent there.”

“Look it's a thrift store. What are you expecting? They are organized and have great deals. The people Who work there are always nice and helpful. I have been here I would say maybe 50x and never had an issue.”
