“Nice small grocery store. Great to have in Pioneer. Have all the essentials, a meat counter and produce aisle. Sure prices are higher then a Safeway or Raileys but we are up in Pioneer that's expected. Freezer aisle and along the back. Clerks are so amiable that it just makes me feel good shopping there. Plenty of parking They also have things you can order cooked in the deli....so hungry one morning. Heard someone order biscuits and gravy so I got that. Good but a bit too salty. Also made to order sandwiches. I have seen sushi, donuts,cooked chicken tenders, potato salad along with others in deli. Have great French bread when they have it. A little bakery table with very expensive items that help me not buy them, and a liquor aisle. Good place to pick up groceries.”
“This is an amazing Grocery store, the employees are soooo nice, they keep a clean store, the produce department looks great in the morning however at night it looks Like a whirlwind came through, shout out to Liv who is amazing with her above and beyond customer service..she helped me one day and you can tell she loves helping out people, she deserves to have her own store to manage, Chris does an amazing job on the floor, Joseph in the meat department is great, All I can add is stop here and shop no ware else for grocery items!!!”
“I recently stopped by the Raley’s at 781 S Hwy 49 in Jackson, California, and it quickly became my new favorite grocery spot in the area. From the moment I walked in, the store felt bright, clean, and welcoming with wide aisles and a great layout that makes shopping a breeze.  The selection is impressive for a smaller town—fresh, high-quality produce that looked vibrant and delicious, a well-stocked deli and bakery with tempting options, and all the everyday staples I needed. I especially appreciated the natural foods section and the variety of items that you don’t always find in other local stores. The Something Extra deals and promotions made my total much more reasonable, and I loved finding great values on fresh veggies, fruits, and more.  What really stood out was the friendly and helpful staff. Everyone from the cashiers to the folks in the aisles was polite, efficient, and genuinely happy to assist. It felt like a true community store where people care about your experience.  Conveniently located right off the highway, it’s easy to pop in whether you’re a local or just passing through the beautiful Amador County area. If you’re in Jackson, do yourself a favor and check out this Raley’s—you’ll leave with everything on your list and a smile on your face. Highly recommend! I’ll definitely be back on my next trip. “Always good food and experiences at Orlando's Market in Pine Grove. Mountain towns, much like river towns, can be expensive--shipping/fuel is prohibitive--but they manage to keep their prices reasonable. Their selection of fresh fruits and vegetables, beverages (of many kinds), breads, and more are outstanding. Both their premade and just-made sandwiches are fresh and tasty, great salads, and their cooked foods are yummy, too. We had stopped into the local 'dollar' store for ice just before we went to Orlando's, but I refused to pay over $6 for a seven-pound bag. Orlando's sold the same for over a dollar less. And their deviled eggs were good, too. Stop at the big Pine Grove Market sign, on 88 just about kitty-corner from Ridge Road. You won't regret it. We never have.”
“This is a gas station with a nice little convenience store. The store has the usual snacks & candy plus some more substantial food like frozen pizzas and cold sandwiches. The regular selection of sodas, water gatorades, etc. is decent as are the selections of liquor & beer. Stage Stop (what locals call Frontier Station) is open until 10 pm (which is later than most places here in UpCountry). Staff is friendly & I've always had positive experiences visiting here!”

“Stopped by Dollar General in Pioneer and had a great experience. The store was clean, well organized, and easy to navigate, which made finding everything quick and convenient. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the checkout process was fast and smooth. Shelves were stocked well and prices were exactly what you’d expect for a quick shopping trip. Definitely a reliable stop in the Pioneer area and I’ll be returning again in the future.”
Walmart wants your groceries at the door before the ice cream softens. On May 29, the retailer said its 30-minute-or-less delivery had reached 33 U.S. markets, adding a wave of new cities across the Northeast. Shoppers in those areas can order from more than 100,000 items, everything from fresh produce and baby formula to pet food, electronics, cold medicine, and prescriptions. Behind the scenes, the service leans on Walmart's store network and an algorithm that factors in order size, available drivers, and distance from the store.
Trader Joe's keeps adding stores, and shoppers keep showing up. The California grocer has marked nine more locations as "opening soon," pushing its expansion into new corners of the country. The grocer also took first place in the American Customer Satisfaction Index's 2026 supermarket rankings. It has held a spot near the top of that list for years.
Target is rolling out its most ambitious store overhaul in more than ten years, with plans to remodel over 130 locations and open 30 new stores across the country this year. The retailer is also putting money into supply chain technology upgrades to keep pace with how shoppers buy today.
Kroger is spending $112 million to build two new stores and renovate 15 existing locations across central and northwest Ohio. The company calls it a "record-breaking" commitment to the region. The two new Kroger Marketplace stores will rise in Canal Winchester and Delaware, Ohio, each costing roughly $30 million to build. Kroger broke ground on the Canal Winchester location on March 19 at the southeast corner of Diley Road and Greengate Boulevard. The 118,000-square-foot store is expected to open in late fall 2026 and will create around 250 jobs.
Loblaw Companies Limited is putting serious money into its retail network this year. Canada's largest food and pharmacy retailer announced it will spend $2.4 billion in 2026 to open new stores, renovate existing locations and strengthen its supply chain. The company plans to open 70 new stores in 2026. That includes 34 Shoppers Drug Mart and Pharmaprix pharmacies and care clinics, along with 31 hard-discount No Frills and Maxi grocery stores. On top of the new openings, Loblaw will renovate another 191 stores and continue construction on a roughly 1.2 million-square-foot automated distribution center in Caledon, Ontario.
