“Love this credit union. Member for 32 years. Smaller CU but they make up lack of size with great service. Man, I get treated like a real person. They have services that meet most of my needs. Rochelle, Anita, and Bob are amazing. I rarely get to their branch but when needed they have been very supportive.”
“This is a great bank... it's that simple. It's great because the staff truly wants to help their customers. I visited the branch a week ago for the first time to deposit an insurance refund check. The teller, Jennifer Robles, was super friendly and very competent. I reached for my driver's license... oops... I had forgotten to bring my wallet. No problem. Jennifer confirmed my ID through records on file and finished the transaction lickety split.Today, I visited the Redwood City branch, again. As trustee for my mom's estate, I stopped by to close out her account. As luck would have it, Jennifer was my teller, again. This was only the second time I had been inside this branch and she remembered me. There was a glitch with a utility charge on the account, but Jennifer quickly enlisted the help of branch manager, Heherson "John" Balico to solve the problem. He surmised that a utility payment had been charged twice in error and he credited the second charge back to the account. It was such a relief to have a banking professional trying to help me instead of shrugging and saying there was nothing the bank could do. John impressed me as being someone who is genuine and who is committed to doing the best job for each customer he meets.Well, it was time to go back to Jennifer. She prepared a cashier's check to close out my mom's account... no charge. The entire time spent inside the branch was a super positive experience. Banks are largely the same. There's not a whole lot of difference in their services, but what makes a difference is the people working inside the bank. If you live in or near Redwood City, I recommend you take a look at Bank of the West. Jennifer, John and the rest of the staff will treat you right.”

“I don't think the 1Star ratings that have been given so far reflect the level of service I have received so far. Sure it takes a little bit of getting used to when you walk into a bank and the tellers aren't in a cage with a cash drawer but hey get used to it. They all want you to use on-line banking and the Versateller machines for deposits and withdrawals. Get used to it. The staff working there is nice and trying their best to help. Some of them have been there for years... since long before the takeover of Union Bank by US Bank and they are doing a great job and are as pleasant as ever.”

Seriously, she's hands down one of the best consultants I've ever teamed up with.So, we had this task of shifting some assets over to Schwab from another company. You know how it goes, tons of roadblocks: forms everywhere, notary stuff, and all that jazz. We were making calls left and right to our assigned agent, but they were slow as molasses in January and didn't really help. Enter Sunny Yang – she's the real MVP. She spotted our pending case in the system and reached out, offering her wizard-like assistance. Super responsive, friendly, and total pro vibes. She stepped up and started making requests for us, sending us options, and basically guiding us through the maze. Thanks to her, we managed to sail through the transfer like a breeze. “I've been a member of SFCU for about 20 years. The Customer Support has always been above par. My most recent encounter was no different. My son and I were helped by 'Jenny' at the Palo Alto branch. She took the time to help us with our accounts, answer question, and explain to my son, in great detail, everything he needed to know about credit cards and his options for saving money. We never felt rushed, and she had clear answers for all of our questions. You can't ask for more than that in a banking experience. Note: I only give four stars because I have to drive an hour to visit the nearest branch. But I realize that's not their fault.”
