“This place is not just special for Denver, it compares with the best menswear shops in the U.S. The sheer volume of high-grade, hard-to-find, best-in-the-world styles and sizes here is something I’ve very rarely seen. They don’t have just a few token pairs of Iron Heart, they have stacks and stacks. Plus the staff are kind and patient, the vibe makes you want to sit down and hang out, and at the right time of day, it gets flooded with as much sunshine as a roof deck. Don’t not go here.”

After posting the below review, I was contacted by Brian Pohl, the manager of the Allen Edmonds Cherry Creek store, who reached out personally after seeing my comments. He called me directly, followed up with a professional and thoughtful email, and immediately offered to make things right by sending replacement laces.
I want to publicly thank Brian for his responsiveness and care. He handled the issue the way you'd hope any brand representative would—with respect, follow-through, and a genuine concern for the customer experience.
While my initial frustration stemmed from what I now recognize as the challenges of dealing with a large, bureaucratic customer service system, I no longer harbor any negative feelings toward the company. My experience reminded me that behind the brand are individuals like Brian, who are doing their best to uphold the values and reputation that originally drew customers like me to Allen Edmonds.
Thanks again, Brian—and credit where it’s due.

Subject: Allen Edmonds: Where’s the Accountability?
I have been a loyal Allen Edmonds customer for years. I’ve worn your shoes because I believed in the quality and craftsmanship your brand once represented.
But my most recent experience has left me seriously questioning that loyalty.
I received an order where one of the shoes arrived with a frayed, defective shoelace — visibly damaged right out of the box. Not a huge issue, or at least it shouldn’t have been. I reached out to customer service three times. Each time, I was told someone would “look into it.” No one ever did. Not a word. No replacement. No apology. Nothing.
And yet — during that same period — my inbox was bombarded with marketing emails telling me about new collections, special offers, and the “Allen Edmonds difference.”
Here’s the truth: Allen Edmonds no longer stands behind its product.
Not even enough to replace a damaged shoelace.
It’s a small detail, but that’s the point. If you can’t get the small things right — or even acknowledge a basic customer service request — what does that say about the big things?
The brand may be coasting on reputation, but it’s losing what made it great in the first place. Disappointed doesn’t begin to cover it.

I bought them anyway, hoping they'd break in, but after 2 weeks they still felt uncomfortable and hurt my heels.While walking through the mall, I saw this store and asked if I could exchange my shoes for a wider fit, even though this was not the same store where I bought the original pair , and I didn't have the box and was wearing them. The manager kindly made an exception and exchanged them for the right size! This was amazing, and I'm so grateful for their help.The new shoes fit perfectly and are incredibly comfortable - they're already some of my favorites! Huge thanks to the manager for their excellent customer service. This store has a great selection of top-selling shoes, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for comfortable footwear.”

The staff (Gabe is a real dude) is awesome and always creates a welcome and helpful atmosphere, which is usually the opposite for this industry. I stopped in weekly when I lived in Denver and they always kept a fresh collection of new pieces, always have great stuff in the sales section and the sneakers compete with any shop in the country. I live in NY now and they are willing to ship any sneaker available and respond in a timely manner on IG or phone call. If you care about sneakers, respect this industry and are in the Denver area you NEED to stop in.”
“Casey is a true professional and knows her products. Approximately a year ago I purchased 2 pairs of boots at the Denver store with Cassy's assistance. One pair began showing premature wear after being worn just a couple of times. While in Denver recently, my wife stopped by the store with these boots and spoke with Cassy. Not only did Cassy remember me and these boots she remembered the second pair I had purchased. She understood. my concern, took charge of the situation, had then polished and brought back to like new condition and returned them to me in short order. Lucchese boots are top notch and with associates like Cassy they just can't beat. Thank you Cassy!”
“The place its self is neat. I went on a Saturday afternoon and the store was packed. It was like Christmas in July. The line was insane. It did took a while to get to the register while being in line, but just not as long as I thought it would. The good thing is that they do have the employees walking around helping people.
