“We planned a last minute rafting trip down the Green River and needed to rent a raft and other equipment on short notice. Mike was extremely accommodating to what we were looking for, as well as giving great insight to what we might need for the trip.
The day we left for the put-in, there was a 14' RMR raft with an oar frame, oars, cooler, dry box, and other necessary equipment; all ready on a trailer. It couldn't have been any easier and the setup was dialed.
Huge thank you to Mike and the rest of the Backdoor staff for making this experience so seamless and fun. We will 100% be using Backdoor Sports for our next river trip.”

“I got a Hacky sack from here and it was so fun for about five minutes, then a corners stitching got loose and dirt started to fall, but I emailed the company about it and kindly asked for a new one and they were fast to getting back to me and they said they would give me a non defective one.”

She was incredibly knowledgeable and did an amazing job explaining everything in a way that was easy to understand, whether it was reading the water, choosing the right flies, or improving our casting. You can tell she genuinely loves what she does, and her enthusiasm made the whole day that much more enjoyable.
The fishing was unbelievable. Thanks to Hunter's expertise, we were catching fish left and right! Every time we thought the action might slow down, she seemed to know exactly where to go and what to do to get us back on fish. She was always encouraging, quick to offer helpful tips, and just made the entire experience fun from beginning to end.
If you're thinking about booking a fly fishing trip, don't hesitate, you won't regret it. We had an amazing time, learned a lot, caught more fish than we could have hoped for, and made some great memories along the way.

“My wife and two boys wanted to try fly fishing, and Collin and Travis absolutely delivered! I’ve been fortunate to fish some really cool waters over the years both fresh and salt, but today was just wild beyond any expectations. My boys both caught their first trout, I caught the three largest I’ve landed by far, and my wife happily caught some trees and a sunburn… unfortunately now they’re all spoiled because they think every day will be like this. It won’t, but I’d wager good money that Collin and Travis could get it close again! They were both wonderful teachers, and I guess the joke is on me now that my boys fell in love with another expensive hobby.

Straightline as a shop is just wonderful too. First place we go when we come to Steamboat. Fantastic selection of clothing and gear, wonderful people, everyone is super helpful. I’m sure we’ll be back many times over.
