Originally, I had a wonderful experience at Scouts which led me to purchase a pair of Hokas! But, unfortunately after wearing the shoe twice they left me feeling uncomfortable enough not to wear again. When I called Chuck to explain my situation he was so understanding, and encouraged me to come into the store so we could speak at length. Upon arrival Chuck immediately wanted to make sure I wouldn’t leave until he replaced and found a shoe that met and exceeded my needs, and that they did! “So talented and great customer service. My Louboutin heels were in rough condition (the bottoms were scuffed and the entire sole/heel was separating from the top of the shoe). I brought it somewhere else to get fixed a few years ago but they just put glue in the crack. When I brought it to Mr. Izet, he noticed it right away and said that he would take the heel off completely to reconnect it the right way. Long story short, look at the photos. He did an excellent job fixing my shoes and put sole protectors on to keep them in good shape. Also, his pricing is unbeatable and customer service is second to none. He’s the best around!Also, just remembered that I had an event come up and asked to get my shoes sooner than we discussed. He got them to me the next day with no extra charge!”

“My daughter Ella had the best experience getting fitted with Mairead! She was being refitted because she has been having some pain while on pointe. Mairead was so patient and extremely knowledgable. She gave us information we had never been given before and tips on how to extend the life of the shoes. They also had the best leotards! We will be returning soon!”

“I went in and the store was busy, no one bothered to greet us. So we walked and took a look at some shoes and was finally helped by a nice man (I forgot his name) who did a foot test on us and was SO knowledgeable and so caring. He was definitely patient as I went into the store undecided of which pair of shoes I wanted. He had recommended Hoka's and shoe inserts, which both work GREAT. Will definitely return, thank you!”

“These guys are great. First, you can buy second quality Aldens here at a discount. The defects in the shoes are very hard, if not impossible, to find, and the defects are generally something insignificant such as an insole that is very slightly misaligned or a stamp that’s uneven. Second, I found a defect in a pair of first quality Aldens I bought two years ago. After two years, it was my first time wearing them because I had started working from home, and it was only then I saw a tear in the leather. The store offered to repair the shoe free of charge.”

I entered the store in a panic as I didn't like what I was going to have to wear!!! Tried Rent The Runway, On line shopping, Westchester Mall and SONO mall, Bloomies, Saks, Neiman's, Nordstrom and other local stores with horrible success. Why did I not come here first??!!!! Amazing selection, beautiful options and THE BEST customer service. They matched a handbag to the amazing dress and I was good to go! Thank you for making me feel amazing wearing that beautiful dress at this beautiful wedding. I received many compliments and told everyone where to go in the future!!!!!! “When I tell you the associates working on 12/4 saved my life! My daughter had a footwear emergency on the day she was scheduled to take pics with Santa. I went in the store with a crying 6 year old, Yemely and two other associates did everything possible to help me and soothe my crying little one!! They offered tissue, stickers, and brought out every shoe that would match her outfit. They helped lace her shoes and even put both sneakers on her and laced her up!! They saved the day!! “Wow, I am struck by the fact that the entire chain gets poor reviews. I have had good experiences each time I have dealt with one or another of the stores. I took two trips to the area pre-Covid and each time had a successful experience. The shoes were expensive, but now I buy from this family-owned small chain online and have never had a problem. They have very good sales and if you are concerned about a large outlay upfront, they do take one of those pay by month apps, so you can enjoy your shoes without breaking the bank short-term. That said, what I like about the place is the large variety of designer shoes they keep in stock at each store. The staff is not ultra-friendly. My very first time there, in Westport, I spied a gorgeous pair of Pliners for around $600. I asked for my size and it wasn't in back. So, as always happens, I checked the size of the floor sample and it was my size (6). I tried that one on and it was perfect, so I asked them to find the matching shoe. With a bit of grumbling, they did, got the box, and then, I said quite innocently, since this is a sample that presumably may have been tried on, is there any small discount for buying it? Nope! End of discussion. Since these were quite unique (black suede with marcasites) and the soles looked perfect, unworn, I went ahead and paid full price. My second trip was to the Greenwich store about 18 months later. There I got a friendly reception and found another stunning pair of Jon Joseph shoes (grey velvet with leather tassels), paid full price and was quite happy. After that, I watched (and still watch) for sales online. Their entire inventory is available that way and one can take advantage of the dozen or so brick/mortar stockpiles. They almost always take 20-40% off. The shoes are usually made in Europe and will last a lifetime (I have Pliners that are 30 years old and wear them weekly, just once having them re-soled; they are all made in Italy, thank the gods). They even now carry my latest obsession, beautiful, comfortable, affordable Marc Fisher shoes! Shoe-Inn ships immediately, they have great and responsive customer service if you call or email them and the quality is incomparable. So, if I were to go back, I would still brave the frosty reception here and there, would go when they have clearances, preferably, and appreciate the fact that these shoes are not only fashionable and beautiful, they are a sound investment, foot-ware-wise. (Far left Pliner pair are over 30 years old!)”

It's such a joyful store you are bound to find some treasure even if it's only a day timer, a cell phone case or another Lily themed knick knack. I'm blessed the clothes fit me to a T so have no issue not leaving bare handed. I didn't know I needed skin tight hot pink and white checkered pants until I saw them at Splash of Pink. To me, Lily Pulitzer remains one of the clothing pioneers to get unique items versus the monotone styles (which I have no issue with) so prevalent today.”

Amazingly though, I would buy a piece here and a piece there only to discover that months later, my Chou Chou pieces were my favorites. I practically live in my DL1961 jeans, my Cole Haan grand pros, my Kinross cashmere swacket (sweater jackets), my Bella Dahl button downs. Whether I wanted to or not, I became a Chou Chou girl. Kathy and her team are the best and go above and beyond - and they are a breath of fresh air when it seems everywhere I shop the salespeople couldn't care if I buy anything or not!”
