“A few weeks ago the bumper on my BMW was vandalized in the parking lot at my job. I took it to Twin Ridge Services because my Dad used to take all our cars there for repairs when I was younger. I wasn’t sure exactly who to speak to because in the past my Dad would handle everything. When I arrived I spoke with a younger gentleman named Nico. He inspected the car that day and gave me a timeframe on how long the job would take. I dropped off the car a few days later on my lunch break. Nico was generous to give me a ride back to work so I didn’t have to call a cab. When I went to pick up my car a few days later it was washed, cleaned and parked out front for pickup. Not only did they repair the part that was damaged but they also replaced and painted the entire front bumper. When I have kids I’m going to keep the tradition going and make sure I continue sending them to Twin Ridge Services.”

“Went to Bob after a more “well known” shop couldn’t diagnose my problem but suggested thousands of dollars in work anyway. Took my car to Bob the next day and he was able to not only diagnose my biggest concern, he did it quickly and kept me informed the whole time (including letting me know that it was under warranty from the dealer because of X number of miles - something I would’ve never known to even look into). He even went so far as to educate me about a recent unrelated recall on my car that I wasn’t aware of. Left with a much more manageable bill and happy to continue to give my service to Bob. “We hit a large wooden object in the middle of the road on 95 North and ended up with 2 flat tires. There were 11 cars in total which requiring towing services. We were lucky to get Vincent Services as our company. The driver dropped us off at a local hotel as it was 10:00 pm on a Sunday night. The next day Vincent located the tires for us, we waited in their shop for the tires to arrive and they promptly mounted them and had us on our way. They assisted us in getting something to eat and were extremely pleasant.”

“Very responsive and friendly service. I needed somebody to come look at my car at home in my driveway, and they sent somebody out as soon as I called. Price was very fair.When it was determined the car would need more service, they scheduled a tow at a time that was convenient for me later in the day. When the tow truck came, the driver was able to resolve my issue so that I could safely drive the car to the shop myself. Despite coming out in the snow, he decided not to charge me since I didn't need the tow after all. “Honest, reliable, quick - we could not have had a better experience! These guys are the best. We brought our 10 year old Subaru Forester into the Subaru Stamford dealership for a rattling noise and we were quoted 11K to repair a "mechanical failure" with the engine. Thank god we brought it to Red's for a second opinion. Joe Jr. squeezed us in to be seen right away and upon arriving did a quick check of our engine oil to discover that there was literally no oil. Can you believe this is how Subaru Stamford returned our car to us?! Especially after we paid them $700 for a synthetic oil change/tune up less than four months prior... Upon further inspection, Red's determined that aside from not having oil it in the engine was running fine. When we picked our car up - Joe Sr. took the time to show us how to check the oil and top it off ourselves. Everyone from Joe Sr., Joe Jr., to Benito at the front desk was awesome, helpful, professional and knowledgeable. We will absolutely be returning with all of our automotive needs.”

“When getting car repairs, you always wonder if you're getting taken to the woodshed. Benny is someone I found I can trust to do what needs to fix the car and asks beforehand for the go ahead on everything. He has changed tires, put in a new transmission, re-wired my engine electrical unit, put in a new rear axel, and more. You can reasonably talk with him about repairs and he's straight up about what has to be done. His prices are very reasonable as well. Sue keeps the place moving along operationally and helps make the experience more efficient and less painful.”

“I've had so many bad experiences with car mechanics over the years that I have come to just expect it, mostly in the form of blatant overcharging for work, recommending unneeded repairs (hello, brakes that somehow need to be replaced every year!), and sometimes just outright shoddy work. I'd become convinced that this is just the normal state of things, part of the game when owning a car. They overcharge you, you push back and work out a price that's still too high but whatever. They try selling you unneeded work, you decline, they push, you decline again, they come up with other unneeded services, you decline. Etc., etc., ad nauseum. So I've been more than a bit shocked at my experiences at Doerr's. No drama, no overcharging, no constant overselling of services, nothing. Just quiet, competent work for a fair price. You drop off the car and ask him to do an oil change? He'll do the oil change and charge you a nominal price, not 3x the going rate with an added note that you need to change your brand-new brakes because they're "wearing thin". You drop off the car for a New York inspection? He sees you need new wipers, calls to tell you so, charges you $18 per wiper - not $80 - and your car is ready for pickup. I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop, but, to my perpetual amazement, it never does. It's my highest compliment, one I feel uneasy giving given how many times I've been let down by other mechanics, but- this guy is honest. He and his shop are a diamond in the rough.”
