“This was a really fun store with a nice selection of books. I was under the impression they had some actual old books for sale. Maybe haunted or recycled books, But all the books were new. I found a few cool books and overall it was a nice visit.”
“Love the vibe of the place. Selling used books. They have a lot of different trinkets, plants that you can browse. That time someone will be performing in the afternoon since they are setting up while I’m there. Felt bad since I can’t stay too long.”

“Incredible shop! I just started collecting vinyl and they have a great selection. I really appreciate the Staff Picks, since I would otherwise get overwhelmed. I love digging through everything they have when my family isn't waiting—I could literally spend hours there. I like that it's a good-sized space where I don't feel like I'm in the way. “This is my husband's and son's favorite bookstore. When we visit Mystic they actually go every day! They have all kinds of good reads for every interest. Recently, it was expanded to include two large rooms. The front room features new releases and popular, classic novels among others. The room proceeding it features academic subjects such as politics, history, economics, etc. The atmosphere provides a sense of calm, which coincides nicely with the already relaxed atmosphere of Mystic. Before the store itself is a statue of a whale, a hallmark that can be found throughout Connecticut, just as shell statues can be found throughout New Jersey. With beautiful editions of books of every variety, you will not be disappointed!”

“It's a very small book store but has the items you need. Not a huge selection but sometimes that's better. Not too many options. Came in , showed them my book I needed on my phone. The guy took my phone and disappearedJust hoped he didn't see something on my phone he didn't want to see but he came back and had my books and the phone. Could of wrote it down but not a biggie. There was a line but three people working so the line didn't stay long. In and Out.”

“I'm feel so bad for the woman working here on 8/10/22, she was verbally abused by a customer because his 5 year old was screaming crying outside because she locked up for the night. He made her feel bad saying you made a 5 year old cry... Many F bombs were thrown in front of the child as well. Security was outside the store too. She actually let them in.... Kudos to her! Sometimes kids need to be disappointed every once in a while... That's how they learn how to deal with situations such as this.”
