“Prices are good. The attendant was very helpful and kind. I hope the management will improve tge pumps with contact less paying and clearer instructions on the pumps' panels. Was looking for button to PRINT my gas receipt the pump but the screen wasn't that clear where to press "Yes or No" when asked if you would like a receipt? After I realized that you have to press the top arrow pointing to the left for Yes or press the right button in the screen to NO receipt.”
“I just have to say, it's extremely clean and museum-like. The meat section looked light a high-end display. Everything is very very good. They make their own pizza and calzones that would rival many restaurants. They have the Big Y app on your phone that allows you to scan items on your phone, then SKIP the line at check out by just scanning a QR code on your way out. The only oddity is that the carriages are to the right of the entrance. You literally have to croos the exit to get a carriage, then cross the exit traffic to get into the store. A very very bad design. I try to get a carriage from the lot to eliminate that. Love the place and glad it's part of our community.”
“Reminds me of home in california with out the california co-op prices. Lots of vegan and organic options, some gluten free options, and an awesome bulk section where I can tar (weigh) and refill my spices and other containers of pantry staples. I love this place.”

“As an Asian market it's fantastic that this establishment is in our neighborhood. I was traveling to Boston Chinatown for my authentic Asian sauces, and Asian foods to make my Authentic Asian meals. I was pleasantly pleased to find this Jewel right in the heart of Norwich. And the staff are pleasantly helpful.”

“October 2nd, 2024 I was shopping at this Big Y. Noticed the deli still had BOARS HEAD DELI MEATS OUT for people to BUY. BOARS HEAD DELI MEAT was in the NEWS for LISTERA OUTBREAK!! They found out their PROCCESSING PLANTS WERE DISGUSTING AND INFESTED WITH MOLD AND INSECTS!! PEOPLE WERE GETTING SICK ?? AND STILL ARE FROM BOARS HEAD DELI MEATS!! The news claimed BOARS HEAD WAS SHUTTING DOWN A PLANT IN VIRGINIA!! DO NOT BUY ANY BOARS HEAD DELI MEAT RIGHT NOW FROM THIS BIG Y!!! I DON'T KNOW WHY THEY ARE SELLING IT. THE DELI MEAT HAS BEEN RECALLED FROM VIRGINIA!! The woman I spoke to at the DELI said "THE BOARS HEAD DELI MEAT THEY HAD FOR SALE. WAS NOT INVOLVED IN THE RECALL HOW DOES SHE KNOW IT WASN'T FROM THE PLANT IN VIRGINIA AND THEY DON'T TELL CUSTOMERS WHAT'S BEEN GOING ON WITH BOARS HEAD" That is DISGUSTING AND MORALLY WRONG WHEN PEOPLE ARE STILL GETTING SICK ?? WITH LISTERA!! DO NOT BUY ANY BOARS HEAD PRODUCTS RIGHT NOW!! THE BIG Y DELI SHOULD BE SELLING IT!! DO NOT GET SICK!!”
“Very nice newer store located in its own area. If I had one complaint it would be when you are coming from the west and need to make a left turn into the drive area to the parking lot. There is no turn signal and you are on a single lane road. A plus it's that there is a spacious parking area. Staff were nice, and greeted us when we came in. Store was well stocked and everything clearly marked as far as pricing.”
“Brooke did a fantastic job informing, advising, and showing me all of the features and options for glasses I could purchase as well as the insurance and warranty. I got there a little after 5 and Brooke took her time explaining everything to me and even stayed till after they close around 6:20 when they close at 6. She said they could be flexible with where I can pick up the glasses since I live halfway between the Waterford and Coventry BJ's and she said I could get them repaired at either BJ's as well. She went above and beyond with her customer service!! It took a week and a day for the glasses to come in which I consider very quick. I am very excited to pick up my two new pairs of glasses in the next few days!!”

Staff is always friendly and they always have whatever it is I'm looking for so, I drive a little bit extra just to use this location because they're so awesome!”
“The employees of this location are amazing. They have smiles on their faces, greet the customers with kindness and treat the customers with respect. But I have noticed this daily occurrence of the store manager spending more time outside in her vehicle smoking cigarettes than actually working. Said manager also will leave employees alone at the store for hours without help when she should be working or at least have a second person that can run registers if it is busy. Overall I love the store. But the manager needs to do better.”

“Stop & Shop is a great neighborhood grocery store. I come into town often for work and this is where we go to buy everything for our grocery needs. For a small town, it's a big grocery store that has a bakery, deli, Starbucks, everything you could possibly need. It is very clean throughout the store. They're always fully stocked w/ fruit and vegetables, everything in the store with a big variety really. I've always found what I needed to buy and then some. The staff is super friendly and always great to chat with at check out. They follow covid protocol and wear masks and gloves, social distancing signs on the floor, and have the clear dividers at check out. Customers are also required to wear masks in the store. It's nice coming in there to buy what we need every trip.”
“The Dollar General I've been to! The Staff are so nice and store is always kept up stocked and clean. Not to mention that here in the forest of Voluntown there is barely enough stores close by and I pretty much rely on this store being close by its wonderful. Basically a mini walmart”

The staff is helpful and courteous, whether I’m asking for help finding an item or checking out. I also appreciate the self-checkout options and convenient hours, which make shopping quick and stress-free.

“Great place to show groceries. We were traveling and wanted to experience the Atlantic lobster, so we went to this ShopRite in the morning and tried to get one.
George from the sea food counter was very helpful and went all the way to get us a good one and put enough ice and double bagged it, there were still ice left in the bag when we get to our air b&b in the evening.

Every other time I walk in here I feel unwelcome. No eye contact or just blaintantly being ignored. I'm convinced only 30% of Hispanics like black people. To the lady who said hi to me today. We were inquiring about the history of the neighbourhood and they were happy to share the what they knew. Tim was very helpful and even spent some time on the west coast where we currently reside. Such a small world sometimes.”
“This place was recommended to us by the host of our AirBNB, and it lived expectations. Those being that it's a grocery store, and they have food. Not much more needed. The inside of the store was clearly worn down, which isn't normally a point dedication, but it was messy at the time we went.”
“First time here. Needed a marker for some renovations. Didn’t want to have to go all the way to Home Depot. Took a chance and came in here.Fortunately found a marker I could use. Picked it up quickly went to the cashier. She was super nice and efficient. Prices were excellent. Was in and out.”

“The only place in the area that had beets and for a reasonable price. They also have many fresh herbs like rosemary, thyme etc which were also hard to find. Lots of dry herbs and seasonings. Very sweet cashiers and even a gas station. I’m giving 4 stars because some produce was bad.”
