“Lots of stuff for students and tons of New Haven swag. Would like to see better organization of the athletic stuff (football specifically) to make it easier to find. Also bigger sizes for football stuff as players are generally XL or 2X or bigger.”
“This is a fantastic independent, Black-owned bookstore in downtown Bridgeport. There is street parking available on both sides of the Arcade Mall, and it's pretty easy to get in and out of. It's fairly small but they have a nice selection and can order books that aren't in stock in the store. I met one of the owners, Derek, and he was incredibly welcoming. We had a great chat while I stopped in on my lunch break. I'm looking forward to returning!”
“Stumbled upon this place while I was in town and their presentation is top-notch pricing is extremely fair and I found things I never knew existed as well as handmaid one-off items with highly recommended”
“Today was my 2nd time coming in and I just have to say the 3 lovely ladies who managed a full house on a special event day deserve so much recognition and compensation for how they managed an overwhelming number of people with kindness and poise : Brooke, Julia, and Mariah you ladies are stars and deserve a raise - bare minimum lunch ?”
“I have no association with UB whatsoever but that didn't stop me from driving 50 miles to come here for all my purple needs. The store itself is difficult to find if you're not familiar with the layout of the campus but it's worth the trip regardless. The staff are friendly and willing to assist if you ever need help. With this impending takeover by Goodwin University, I pray UB is allowed to keep its identity and colors.”

“I love this place: you definitely will fine exactly what you are looking for. You can get your name or someone else named engaged on a Bible. There's alot of wonderful things you can buy from there. It's so peaceful when you enter the store, gospel music be playing; the people who work there is very professional also will assist you in what you are looking for without hesitation. I would suggest this place to anyone who is looking for things they want Christian ✝ things.”
“Book Trader is one of my favorite places on campus. It’s the perfect study spot with amazing drinks, great snacks, and such a cozy atmosphere. The concept of trading books is so unique and awesome.
On top of that, the owner, David, puts so much care into this place and is one of the kindest people ever. He’s made such a positive impact and his warmth and passion for the shop really show.”
“The SCSU Bookstore is a fantastic resource for students and visitors alike! They have a wide selection of textbooks, school supplies, and university-branded gear. I was especially impressed with how organized the store is—it’s easy to find what you need without feeling overwhelmed.”
“This was an exceptional book store. An attentive lady with short hair guided me to my destination. She scoured the area using memory and signage.
I found a useful book. I left the bookstore with a task completed.”
“I love going back to Curious Goods every few months as I can to see all the new, different things and admire everything and buy some new supplies,
Also the store aisles are wide enough for mobility aides, but the front door has a couple inch drop :( not their fault the building was built how it was, but they made their aisles wide enough”
“This is a nice concept:Book store with a coffee shop, a serious book store. Some of the stuff are premade, so adjust your expectations.Their bakery’s portions are big, but being a usual France traveler, it’s just OK. Good for feeding hungry students.Coffee, oh coffees. It’s ok for New Haven standard, I guess. If not because the gentleman cooked a nice corque monsieur for, I would probably give them 3 stars.”
“great teachers, amazing building, easy to apply and to commute, Fafsa is available and very good program, online and offline classes, work great around schedule, dunking right across street, nice for breaks in-between, bookstore fabulous!! highly recommended!”
“All the employees here are fast and polite. I came to pick up my book only hours after placing my order on the first day of school and it was a breeze.
Thank you Tom for going above and beyond to help me today!”
“Great place, great lady running things. They don't have everything but if you are looking for a read not research and want to payless and even be able to bring it back for credit when your done Penny's is the place for you. Can't always find the one thing I want but can always find something worth the trouble.”
